View Full Details of Trevarna Residential and Nursing HomeHave worked in care and specialised in mental health so am aware of the many and varied aspects relating to my brother-in-law's needs. Always friendly and helpful staff, excellent record keeping. My brother-in-law could not be in a better placement and receives professional care that fulfils his needs. Thank you.
My son has thrived since coming to Trevarna. He is younger than most of the residents and has multiple needs. He is treated with respect and dignity. The staff are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is very good. My son's room is quiet and airy and allows him to be as independent as reasonably possible. While nowhere is perfect Trevarna is about as good as you can get.
Always welcoming staff when we visit our nan, really friendly and up for a chat. Always coming up with activities for our nan etc, she seems happy when we visit her. 10/10 service. Always clean and decorated lovely.

Since becoming a resident of this care home my mother has received the best care possible. The staff are always attentive and do everything to make her feel happy and cared for. I can rest easy knowing that she is safe and happy, and all her needs are met. The staff go above and beyond to make her feel loved and secure. I am always kept notified of all of my mother's care. All I can say is this care home is fantastic.
Always find the staff really really helpful and friendly and looking after all the residents. Cannot fault anything. Food looks lovely and everyone is happy. Always able to see my gran without a hassle.
Very friendly staff! High level of care given to mother-in-law. Clean environment. Good choice of meals. We were allowed to make her room homely. A variety of activities are available throughout the year.
The staff and care Mum gets is excellent, clean, tidy room always, nice and warm and friendly environment. Good looking quality food. Mum feels safe and at home here, she gets the full level of care she requires and seems happy.
It was a very difficult decision to put my Partner into full-time care, but from day one, everyone was amazing. Regardless of their role in the home. Always a warm welcome, and excellent care, which was difficult at times due to my partner's dementia. The 'end of life' care was outstanding. The staff were amazing, checking and supporting me at such a difficult time. Good communication from the manager.
All of the staff showed an excellent quality of care and compassion in looking after my father. We visited every day and each time the staff were extremely cheerful, polite, happy, helpful and they all genuinely cared about the residents they were looking after. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they all went above and beyond expectations. We can not thank everyone enough for the time spent with my father.
My mum was very welcomed on her arrival into Trevarna in July 2024. She has continued to receive excellent and ongoing care and her stay has and is enjoyed daily. The staff made Mum feel very welcome and are attentive to all her needs - nothing is too much trouble.
My brother has been at the care home for several months. He has been well cared for and enjoyed the activities arranged by the event organisers. Access for family members has been good. The security for residents is good and everyone entering has to be signed in and vetted properly. Everyone's needs are different and all residents should have a voice.
Mum was a resident of Trevarna for 9 years. During that time while her she herself went into decline from dementia, I have to say that the care, respect, kindness and love shown to Mum by the staff was outstanding. My dad visited Mum practically every day and all the staff took time to get to know him as well as mum and he became part of the Trevarna family. We always knew that Mum had the very best of care and attention and the carers, nurses and staff do an excellent job.
I visited Trevarna St Austell with a friend whose wife is a resident. It is the second time I have been there and my first impression was good. I mentioned to the staff how nice it was there. I have worked in nursing homes and have witnessed how bad things can be. Trevarna is clean, bright and airy and although I know how hard it is to keep homes smelling fresh, it is not always possible to be perfect, but Trevarna ticks all the boxes for 'good'. Well done to manager and staff.
My close friend arrived at Trevarna in early January 2024, having spent a month in hospital. I live in France and was keen to make sure he had settled in well on arrival. The receptionist could not have been more helpful, informative or friendly over the phone and she became the constant point of contact for me pretty much every day until my friend passed away. I spent 10 days in Cornwall, organising proceedings for my friend, and became well acquainted with just some of the staff, nurses and carers there. I cannot praise them enough for their foresight, kindness, empathy and sense of humour. The care was second to none.
Mum has middle-stage dementia and can be quite challenging at times. She was in another care home previously however was asked to leave as the staff were unable to manage her behaviour which was really disappointing as I understood it was pretty typical for dementia (basically she got extremely upset if she was asked to do anything she did not want to do. Luckily my wife and I found Trevarna and the experience could not have been more different. They have treated my mum with the compassion and care she deserves and have avoided confrontation by managing any situations that may arise with patience and understanding. When I speak to the staff they clearly have taken the time to get to know Mum and how best to look after her needs. I cannot be any more grateful as it has been a pretty fraught 12 months and knowing that Mum is being looked after so well is very reassuring indeed.
Trevarna Residential and Nursing Home has been a true family to my aunt. They have looked after and cared for her in a way of compassion, care and love. When times have been dark, they have been the sunshine and recently so, we could collect some furniture. They have gone above and beyond. We are truly thankful.
Very happy with his care.
My husband arrived at Trevarna Residental and Nursing Home as a day respite care and remained so till he was 'up-graded' to nursing. He was given good care and he smiled a lot. The carers were very gentle and understanding and they made his last days as comfortable as was possible. Thank you all. One thing I felt that maybe lesser trained staff could do the meal handing out. The more experienced staff could then have a bit of time to help residents if necessary.
Dad was suffering from Vascular Dementia, we were completely devastated. We wanted to keep him at home but we were to find this wouldn't be possible. We had no choice but to look for local nursing homes and to think about what this would mean for dad and the family who all adore him. Trevarna was recommended by locals in his village and medical professionals, we wondered if the care would be as professional and consistent as Trevarna promised. We feared how staff may react to our daily telephone calls, and sending of cards and gifts! We need not worry the standard of care is fantastic, and the level of understanding and advice is beyond our hopes. We are encouraged to telephone as often as we like, and during visits, we are offered refreshments spending time in the lounge or dad's spacious, smart and cheerful room. We have added lots of pictures to his room, a blanket and a box of goodies for him. On every visit, dad is dressed beautifully, clean and well-fed. Thank you to all at Trevarna!
