My loved one has lived at Check House for over 3 years and the care he receives there is a genuine and exemplary. The facilities are excellent and all the staff are wonderful, friendly and welcoming to residents and visitors. I know my loved one is very well looked after all his needs met to a consistently high standard. I would highly recommend Check House.

My father lived at The Check House for 4.5 years until his death last week. I only have praise for the staff and nursing team who cared for him so compassionately throughout his time there and especially during the period at the end of his life. Dad was treated with the utmost respect and dignity at all times. When he passed the love and respect of the staff was clear - not only in their fondness for Dad but also in the way they cared for my mother and the rest of our family. Practically the home is very well run and all the residents are settled and comfortable. There is plenty of stimulation, visiting musicians and a busy activity team. Personal events are celebrated in style - my parents were made a huge fuss of on their 60th wedding anniversary. Visitors are welcomed at any time. We are so grateful to The Check House and would not hesitate to recommend them. It was a huge comfort to us knowing that Dad was happy and so well cared for. Many thanks.

My mum has now been living at Check House for 8 months, so I felt now would be a good time to write a review. From the first point of contact, the manager and the admin team were brilliant and made me feel at ease. Check House is a homely care home. The staff are just awesome and manage the residents in a caring and respectful way. The communication from Check House is very good. I receive regular updates about my mum. The cleaning, laundry, kitchen and maintenance teams all do their jobs brilliantly and work hard. There is a full programme of activities at Check House, which the residents can take part if they wish to do so. They have many visiting acts too. The mini-bus is regularly used for residents' outings. The food here is very good, and my mum does enjoy her meals. I have eaten dinner here with her on a couple of occasions too. The staff here are what really makes this care home outstanding, led by a brilliant management team, and they all do an amazing job.

My father has Dementia and was diagnosed during Covid. I supported Dad with independent living for as long as I could, but I wish I had found them earlier. The Check House is a wonderful environment for my father and one where I find myself humbled by the level of support and care they provide for him. Activities are always on offer, so he has an opportunity for quiet times or mixed community times. As the sole carer for Dad, I can't recomend them highly enough. The whole team led by the manager are brilliant at what they do. There is no better place for Dad locally.

My mother has been living at The Check House for more than ten years. From the outset, the staff have been wonderfully kind and caring. They're professional but friendly. Care for my mum has made The Check House a real home for her and has also been deeply reassuring to me and the rest of the family. I can only recommend The Check House very highly. The accommodation and support they offer is really wonderful and greatly appreciated.

I cannot praise or recommend The Check House highly enough! My mother was a resident for a year until she passed away and both the staff and level of care were second to none. I live in the USA and nothing was too much trouble to keep me in contact with Mum, by either phone or video call and updated me whenever necessary. I always felt it was like an extended family, with the professional excellence added.

Check House has cared for my parents since 2019. The staff are extremely caring and the residents are lucky to have engaging activities, gorgeous food and trips out. I have always been kept fully informed of their progress. After losing my dad, my mum was comforted and helped to understand what had happened. They felt they were on holiday whilst there! Now after my mym has passed, everyone has been very thoughtful and sympathetic. I believe the care they received here has enabled them to live their best end of life.

My mother was cared for at The Check House for about three years. She had dementia and was always treated with kindness by the staff. The food was amazingly good and at times my mother believed that she was staying in a rather nice hotel. My mother died recently and the staff were respectful and supportive. Dementia is a terrible and at times distressing illness for the person and their family but The Check House handle it in a caring and professional way.

Both of my parents were residents at The Check House. My father passed away in April 2022 and my mother in July 2022. Both passed away with dignity and amazing end-of-life care at The Check House. The staff at The Check House are amazing and were always attentive to both my parent's needs.

Excellent staff, facilities and activities, would 100% recommend. Great location and outside space. Always amazed at how much the staff involved residents in daily different activities and events. So glad my Mum was here.

My mother was a resident at Check House for over 5 years. During this time, she received exceptional care, delivered with great kindness and respect from all of the staff. I would most definitely recommend this Nursing Home.

The staff at Check House were all outstanding, the care for mum was exceptional and the care for the families was second to none. Welcoming, warm and homely. Palliative care was amazing even down to pureed food in moulds which looked like proper food. The aftercare was so touching, flowers and candles put around the room the morning that she passed and they made Mum look so cosy after she had. Amazing grace was playing on the speaker as she was carried out and nurses and carers lined the corridor. Check House made a very hard time in my life so much easier for me. I would put them at outstanding.

My husband has been a resident for over three and a half years. He has been so well cared for, not only physically, but emotionally. Always treated with respect, dignity and warmth. I have always felt he was surrounded with affection and humour by the staff and I am so very grateful for that. Also, the loving courtesy shown to myself and my family.

My dad has been a resident for three and a half years. From the moment he was welcomed into the community at The Check House we have not had a moments worry about the standard of care he was receiving. From the management to the maintenance staff everyone is part of the caring team/family, and this shows in the atmosphere at The Check House. At times I was in the home 24hrs a day and saw that the good care was consistent, night and day. Once dad became bed-bound, enrichment was bought to his room, and excellent, respectful and appropriate care continued behind closed doors. The staff became like an extended family to us. We are so grateful.

We moved our Mum here after a terrible experience at a previous home. We were so nervous as she has advanced dementia and Parkinson's and we were worried about how the move would impact on her wellbeing. However, it has been an absolute dream, to see her looking so well cared for, she is clean, happy, and stimulated. Activities on all the time. The carers are really great, you can see they really want to make a difference and understand the challenges of supporting someone with dementia. The setting is amazing and I love that there are lots of different areas for Mum to sit in as she is immobile, all very stimulating and a very happy and loving atmosphere when you visit.

My wife lived with vascular dementia and resided in the Check House from January to March 2022. During her stay, she was treated with kindness, compassion and respect. All members of staff were very helpful and understanding, during this difficult time. Sadly, my wife passed away during her stay at the care home.

My mum was at The Check House Care Home for nearly eight years and she was always looked after with the most amazing care. The staff are amazing and Check House is a truly wonderful home. Mum was shown the utmost care, especially in her final days and we were both treated with respect and dignity up to my darling mum's passing. Thank you Check House and all you wonderful, amazing staff.

Covid was a very difficult time for all, but we were kept informed regularly of Dad's health and wellbeing. His last few weeks were very special, and we cannot thank the staff enough for their care and support. Thank you.
