View Full Details of Ivydene Residential and Nursing HomeWell, what can I say. If I could award 10 stars to Ivydene, that too would be too few. My mum is looked after so well by all the staff, from the cleaners to the management. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they know all the residents names and the family's too. It feels so much more like a large family atmosphere than just a care home. The residents are treated like humans and are encouraged, not forced, to join in with daily activities. There's always something going on, from a quiz, to a good old sing song. From personal experience my mum is always washed, hair done, dressed smartly even if she wants to be in her room all day. The food she is served always looks delicious and a good range is always on offer. Plus the dining room is clean with linen table cloths and flowers, such a nice touch. They have certainly managed to help my mum to be the best she can be with her dementia. Thank you.
I have been visiting Ivydene regularly and never once have been disappointed. The courtesy of the staff, the never-ending cleaning, and the serenity of the guests are really extraordinary. The guests are very well looked after, well nourished, always clean and smiling. I am grateful to have such house in our village. Well done to one and all.
Ivydene I would like to high light the following: 1. The food I cannot highlight the numerous meals all are fantastic and I would recommend them to anyone. 2. We are so pleased with the care and support we receive.
Ivydene has provided wonderful care, support, entertainment and compassion to both my parents throughout this year. It has been a great comfort to us knowing that our parents are so well cared for. Ivydean is a wonderful place filled with very special staff who provide a very safe and happy home.
I was pleasantly surprised that Ivydene was such a happy and welcoming home. All the staff were friendly, kind and very caring.
My father has been a resident at Ivydene since March 2023. He has a rare motor neurological condition which means he is unable to do anything physically for himself but has full capacity to make his own decisions and voice his concerns/complaints! Being in a home is not what my extremely active football, cricket, squash playing dad had planned for his later years! However, he is very happy at Ivydene! He has an exceptional relationship with all the staff, they treat him with the utmost respect and dignity. He really enjoys the food, especially his daily full English breakfast.
If I could give more stars to Ivydene, then I would. My husband has been a resident for 2 years. I cannot fault the care he receives. He is looked after by the staff wonderfully. He is treated with respect and kindness. The staff have been so supportive of me and my daughter. The manager is always a listening ear when you need it. I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending Ivydene to anyone looking for care for their loved ones.
My brother has been under terminal palliative care in Ivydene since April. I have visited monthly and called weekly. Ivydene is a new purpose-built facility, light, bright and cheerful. Its staff are marvellous - caring, helpful and endlessly positive. Nothing is too much trouble, and they are sympathetic and flexible in response to any request. My brother doesn't rate the food, but this has more to do with his fussiness than any major deficiency. Overall, I am delighted with the care he is receiving at Ivydene.
Great staff (two members of staff in particular) - very caring. Very clean and well organised.
I was very impressed with the service and care provided to my good friend when I paid a visit last Saturday.
We looked at a lot of care homes and this one was the best by far. Mother was looked after very well and I was kept informed if she was at all unwell and they were extremely good at the end of her life. Very well done to you all.
My mum was a resident in the nursing section of Ivydene for a year, having suffered a major stroke. The management of the home is very good and all the carers are great. I would have no hesitation in recommending Ivydene.
Dad was a resident at Ivydene for two years, sadly passing away in mid-October 2023. During his stay, the quality of care was very good. In the last week, the attentiveness and compassion of all staff was exemplary - not only towards Dad but also towards us - nothing was too much trouble. Ivydene staff have, over the last two years, become a second family whose kindness we will never forget.
The pre-admission procedures were professional, friendly and courteous. For the five days she was there, Mum was smart, well cared for and apparently content. Staff were helpful and caring.
My wife was admitted to Ivydene Residential and Nursing Home on the 22nd of September. She has Alzheimer's (Lewy Body Dementia). All of the staff that I have met have been excellent. they are efficient, caring and attentive to their residents while maintaining a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Our very good friend was transferred to Ivydene Residential and Nursing Home for palliative care. In the week she was there, she was looked after by very caring staff. Nursing staff were happy to explain everything about her care. The care team were happy to make sure her husband had a sandwich or cup of tea. Our friend was there and week and we (the friends/family) were looked after too.
I dropped off a piece of furniture for the resident. Although I did not stay long, I thought that the staff were amazing. They were friendly and helpful, and all my queries were answered. Despite the building work, the home was clean, and the residents seemed happy. So far, the three-week experience has gone much better than expected, as the resident in question is very happy and settled in the new environment.
My Mum has recently started to stay for respite at Ivydene Residential and Nursing Home, the most recent stay for 11 nights. On each occasion, my mum has been given the best care I could wish for. The staff are very friendly and caring and make my Mum feel at home as soon as she arrives. The rooms are clean and homely. My mum tells me the meals are great with plenty of choice. Mum said there are lots of activities you can take part in or you can just relax in your room. Mum praised the young man who carried out the activities, saying he was great. I also want to say a huge thank you to all the staff who are involved with my Mum's care. You do fantastic work. I am very grateful and appreciate the support you have given me.
Ivydene Residential and Nursing Home is an outstanding facility. All of the time my mother-in-law has been a resident and still continuing, they have treated her and our whole family with care, respect, dignity, love and professionalism. The management team are very knowledgeable, professional and caring which is reflected down into every member of staff at every level. I have already recommended Ivydene to friends and family and will always continue to do so. All of the care and love from the Ivydene family is very much appreciated and we are proud of the Ivydene care family.
After 1 month in hospital, where it was concluded that I was suffering from Polymyalgia Rheumatic (PMR). I was discharged on a course of steroids. As I'm single, elderly and love by myself, I then self-funded 1 month's worth of respite care in Ivydene Home. The management and secretarial staff were very helpful and efficient in booking me in with the formal arrangements for payment etc. The caring staff were very helpful and friendly in getting me settled into my room, which was adequately furnished with very comfortable armchair, bed, TV and my personal toilet. The food was good and variable and I was happy to take all my lunch and evening meals in the dining area. The staff soon remembered my name and made me feel part of the community, though I was obviously different from most of the long-term residents. I appreciated the frequent coffee and biscuits delivered, cheerily, to the room if desired. There was parking space for my car. Overall, friendly stay, which I hope has helped my convalescence! Good value I think! One criticism, It's difficult to phone directly to Ivydene, calls are diverted to Sanctuary HQ and non obvious options.
