View Full Details of Langford Park Care HomeI visit my friend regularly and have always had a good experience. The staff are very friendly and you are made to feel at home. The residents are well looked after and have good facilities/activities. All in all an excellent care home.
I have been living at Langford Park for 1 month and enjoy the activities and friends I have made here. I also have a nice room and the staff are nice.
My husband has been a resident at Langford Park for 4 weeks now. His needs are complex and his care has presented challenges. Without exception, every single member of staff has done and continues to do their utmost to ease his situation and bring him comfort. The manager and senior nurse are in regular contact with the GP who visits weekly and I have been involved in all medical and care decisions. Nutrition is given high priority and is tailored specifically. There is a tangible blanket of warmth, comfort, patience and respect as soon as you enter Langford Park. Communication is good and staff appear happy to be with each other as well as with the residents. There seems to be ongoing training happening. There is a schedule of maintenance and upgrading which is being managed sympathetically to the needs of the residents. Again without exception, every single member of the team has also in turn patiently spent time with me comforting me on my emotional rollercoaster. Thank you all.
There is a very happy atmosphere in Langford Park. The staff are always friendly, cheerful and helpful. The views are wonderful. My mother is enjoying the activities. Staff seem to have found out what she likes to do and enable her to do those things. The building is clean and tidy, the food seems plentiful and good. I always feel welcome when I visit, and any questions or queries I have are answered immediately. It is good to see Mother settled, relaxed and enjoying life.
My sister has been in a previous care home and it depressed me every time I visited her! There was no atmosphere whatsoever there. Now I go into Langford Park and I enjoy my visit so much, the staff are kind, caring and there is always a happy feeling from all the residents. Always offered to join in with all the activities and I really love spending time there and enjoying a cup of tea and cake as well. Thank you so much for everyone making me feel so welcome.
This care home has transformed my aunt from being very poorly and having to be confined to her room to now being able to sit with other residents and be included in activities. On visits there, the staff are all 100% dedicated, caring and professional. True angels. There is a lovely warm friendly feeling in the home, set in the most beautiful grounds.
I have always found the staff helpful and my mother has good care. She has now moved to a bigger room which will be helpful to Mum and the staff to use moving aids. I have been kept well informed if a problem has arisen.
My husband, in my opinion, is always well looked after so far (he came to Langford in December 2019) he can walk with help, feed himself, talk and sing. None of those things would have happened without their help. He had a stroke in October 2019 and had dementia for many years - but he seemed to have closed down at home, sleeping all the time - awake for food only. But in the home, he has come back to life. I find all the staff very helpful at any time. If he has a fall they inform me at all times. I am very happy for my husband to be there.
I have no qualms about this care home. My son has been there for over 20 years. There have been some lovely caring staff over the years and they keep me informed about any situation.
Langford Park has provided a safe and comfortable place for my husband but above all, 'they get him' and do the most they can possibly do to meet his needs (never an easy task). They have also supported me and have always kept me in the loop. Well done Langford Park for being both professional and human.
Excellent care and treatment. Could not ask for better.
My husband used to have the odd outing but there has been nothing for a long time. No communication from home regarding charges for use of minibus for travel until I received a bill 10 months later for outstanding monies owed. Husband likes the location of the home and most staff but needs more activities. Apart from a handful of staff always seems to be new ones. High turnover of staff.
I find all standards satisfactory at this time. There is always some improvement that could have been made when I have visited the care home and if I felt it needed to be acted upon at the time then the staff have always responded positively.
Lovely location, especially if the resident is mobile enough to get outside and enjoy it. Mum was generally treated well and the home is much better than many we viewed prior to her becoming a resident. Mum had a number of falls while in the home and one suggested improvement would be to issue vulnerable residents with personal alarms rather than rely on alarm bells located in a single location, where it cannot be used if the resident is unable to get themselves up off the floor etc. Food was acceptable but more needs to be done to ensure the resident is given a meal they can and will eat. At times we felt mum was left on her own too often, especially just before her death, however, in general, the staff are caring and no-one in the home was treated poorly. As is the case with most care homes, we felt there was a slight reliance on agency staff but this is not a criticism of the home itself. The home is generally in good repair, but all of the bathrooms need to be usable.
Langford Park provided care for my husband when it was no longer feasible for him to remain at home. Without this facility being made available and local, life would have been very difficult.
Staff are always caring, friendly and helpful. Rooms are always clean and tidy. The setting and location of the home is very peaceful with most rooms overlooking the beautiful gardens. Activities are arranged so that all who are able can be included and occasionally through a network of qualified volunteers, residents who are able are taken out for day trips. The food is particularly good here and it is never a problem to accommodate visiting hungry family members too. There is a quiet room which can be booked for more personal visits say like for a birthday celebration. Occasionally items of clothing can end up in another resident's wardrobe so be sure to clearly label everything. If you do lose something the staff are very helpful in finding your missing item(s). Overall this is a lovely home where every effort is made to treat residents with dignity and care to make their remaining days peaceful, happy and comfortable.
My stepfather received a remarkably high standard of care and was treated with the greatest respect. He moved to Langford Park from the hospital where he was distressed and unable to feed himself. His quality of life although struggling with dementia, improved dramatically when he settled in. He clearly enjoyed the good quality food presented and was certainly motivated to feed himself. He was challenging although Langford Park has a caring well considered and intelligent response to managing these issues. His experience was well beyond my expectations and he was contented and often happy. When he required end of life care he was treated with every kindness, all medical procedures were rigorously adhered to. I often arrived to find a carer sitting by his bedside reading his bible to him, he was supported physically, emotionally and spiritually. I really can't recommend Langford Park too highly due to the quality of care, exceptional thoughtfulness and the respect given to all residents.
It was decided mum would go into Langford Park as it was a nursing and dementia home. The transition to full-time care was excellent with the manager and staff all very helpful understanding and sensitive during the process. Mum settled well and loves having people around her all day. She smiles and laughs a lot and really enjoys the interaction with staff chatting along in her own way and the way staff respond to her is fantastic. I can certainly see they are well trained in all dementias. I find the home a lovely environment to be in. A very warm, inviting homely place and really enjoy visiting mum. All staff are great, being friendly and helpful and always listening if I need to say or ask something about mum. I know mum can be a challenge at times and all staff appear well trained when these times happen. I am so pleased Langford Park could take in mum full-time and wouldn't want her anywhere else! A big thank you to the manager and all staff.
An extremely pleasant place for my friend to reside. When visiting her, I am always made to feel welcome. The food and activities are excellent. The manager, has worked wonders since she started there and is always a pleasure to talk to and resolves any concerns you may have.
My wife is staying in bed too late in the mornings. I feel she needs to be dressed and in her chair or wheelchair, 10-10-30 am. A drink isn't offered we have to ask in the dining room. In my wife's room, coffee and snack time is too late. I suggest there should be cold drinks on the tables in the dining room and glasses. Would it be possible to ask if there is any help from the hospice to help her with activities? When my wife gets her new recliner chair I'd like her to have a rest in the chair at least once a day. Can she have a bath if she asks for one?
