View Full Details of Linksway Nursing HomeI have found the staff to be empathetic, warm and knowledgeable. Dealing swiftly with any queries. The home is clean and welcoming. A genuinely difficult time has been made easier because my mum is here. Thank you.
Our family are so thankful that my husband found a comfortable and caring place to receive his end of life care. His room was lovely, spacious and light with a large window onto the garden. The staff were friendly, caring and knowledgeable about his needs. They welcomed the visitors my husband was able to receive, warmly and with friendship. They supported him and the family through a difficult time, accessing the medical support he needed at the end to make his passing comfortable and peaceful. The manager took the time to explain the funding system to us which is more than many others did. The hospice care system was working in Exmouth too, planning out what they could do for my husband and the family, which is more than other areas seem able to offer at the moment. Thank you so much.
Thank you to all the staff at Linksway for the kindness, compassion, dignity, and care given to my 82 year old cousin during her recent short stay. The attention to detail was extremely professional at this care home.
Our cousin has been a resident of Linksway for three years. We have visited her there many times, and from the very beginning, we were impressed with the care she has received. It's our belief that she couldn't be in a better place. The staff have treated her with respect and consideration. We have seen our cousin gain strength over the years, almost certainly because of the care she has received there. The staff have organised activities and trips out which have kept her busy and entertained, always aware of the things that would make her happy. We have also been amazed by the high quality of the meals provided, which we are sure has contributed to keeping up our cousin's strength over the years. We have found on our frequent visits that the staff have been very friendly and supportive towards us as well, and have included us in some of their decisions about the care our cousin receives. Their humour and committment is never-ending. It's an excellent care home.
I would not recommend Linksway to anyone. My Nan passed at the end of August. The home did not respect my Nan's privacy or dignity and packed her room up without the family's consent a matter of hours after she passed and then proceeded to leave it in a communal area behind a chair! When we raised our disgust, they proceeded to hang up on us. We then went up to collect her belongings and got verbally abused. Awful home. Lack of compassion and no empathy for the grieving process.
My first impressions on entering the nursing home was very promising. I was warmly greeted by the staff which helped settle any apprehension I had of being able to settle in my new home. It was late in the evening and after a sandwich and a warm drink, my clothing and belongings were put away. The next day I settled in very well and felt the warmth of the staff who were very caring. And from there the comfort of the home engulfed my being. I have no hesitation in recommending the nursing home to friends and family.
My mother was admitted to Linksway in 2016 after a three-month stay in hospital following a bad fall in her flat. She was incapable of independent living and needed 24/7 nursing care. I was uneasy about this because of all the stories in the media about bad care homes but in the three years she was in Linksway, I never had any cause for concern. The care she received was excellent and the family never had any worries about her. She wasn’t the easiest of residents, yet was cared for with love and affection, making her final years far more comfortable than they might have been. The home was always clean and never smelly. We were always consulted about any changes to her care and kept up to date with her health status. She was able to have her own photos and pictures up in her room and the staff actively sought information about her, her past and the family to enhance her care. We are deeply grateful to them all for making her final years comfortable and as happy as they could be. I can't recommend Linksway highly enough.
The care and love that my mother received from all the staff at Linksway over the three and a half years they looked after her was excellent and so reassuring when we live some distance away. The support they gave my father when he visited was appreciated too. Her illness prevented my mother from making any significant movements but despite this and a true reflection of the excellent nursing care she received, she never developed a pressure sore. The staff always kept us up to date re any intercurrent illnesses and doctors visits and would spend time with her talking about the family, her life and her travels etc. In her final illness when we arrived to be with her it was so reassuring to find one of the nurses sitting with her, and again when we returned after supper - she was never left on her own. I have no hesitation in recommending Linksway. The rooms are variable as it is not purpose-built but the nursing care supersedes any limitations.
Although my mother was only at Linksway for a short time, she was always treated with respect and kindness by all the staff. Thank you for being so caring towards my mother and also to us, the family, in what was a difficult time for us all.
We can't say enough about Linksway staff and the care my father in law has received over the past 10 months. He was on bed rest for most of the time with very poor health but he ended up being happier here than he had been at home. He was kept clean, comfortable and nothing was too much trouble, cups of tea when he wanted and company when the staff popped by. This home never smells, it's very clean and welcoming. We were never made to feel a nuisance and always listened to. We too were respected as a family alongside our dad. This home is completely recommended by us. We live over 100 miles away but we were kept informed and always given kindness on our phone enquiries.
The attention and care given by the staff at Linksway Nursing Home were faultless. We couldn't have wished for a better place for my Dad to spend his last few weeks. His wishes were taken into account in every decision and his dignity was maintained throughout. We feel so lucky that we found Linksway and there was a bed available for him.
The genial and relaxed and caring atmosphere and approach at Linksway, due in large part to the staff and the ethos, certainly made Dad's last months far more amenable than they would have been in any of the other homes that we had a look at, and we would like very much to place that on record.
I the resident cannot complain at all about my care. The staff have been so kind to me and treated me with the utmost respect. I am unable to walk and they help me with every aspect of my care. I have enjoyed what entertainment I am able to go to and my family are always made welcome. The food is satisfactory and I haven't any complaints.
