View Full Details of WoodhayesAll of the staff at Woodhayes are very kind and caring. They are always aware of my mother's needs and how best to support and assist her and us, her family. Mum's room is comfortably warm and light with a lovely view overlooking the garden. We are all very happy with the home.
The staff at Woodhayes have been brilliant during the past 13 months my mum has been a resident. However their care during the last week when Mum was at the end of her life has been exceptional. Their support for myself and my siblings has been invaluable and we as a family shall be forever grateful.
I don't care too much about the fabric of the building of a care home, but much more about the care given, the quality of the staff and the resources available to assist in that care. Woodhayes is excellent for these more important aspects.
Our dad was a bit reluctant to move to a care home but his health had deteriorated. This meant that he wasn’t the easiest person for the carers to deal with. This was difficult to begin with but once they got used to each other and they realised what he didn’t like it did become easier. The carers are patient and kind, and the nursing staff were brilliant. When Dad was very poorly two staff members in particular were very caring to Dad and us. The building is a bit tired but Dad had a nice large room with a lovely view.
My mother has recently moved to Woodhayes after previously being at another home for 14 years. She is 86 and it was an anxious time for her and the family. It need not have been! The staff and managers at Woodhayes are lovely. Extremly friendly, kind, and welcoming and always seems happy. It's obvious from every person working there that they are in a happy relaxed environment, where all work very hard! Mum from day one has settled in amazingly. Thank you.
My aunt was at Woodhayes for approximately six weeks receiving end of life care. I was very happy with the care she received. All the staff were excellent. I didn’t live locally and was visiting once a week and there was always a manager and a nurse I could speak to about my aunt. Her room was lovely and homely and I felt that the staff took the time to get to know her. I was always alerted to changes in her health. The personal care was very good. My aunt liked the food and her room and got on with the staff. She always had good things to say about the staff when I visited. I felt my aunt was content at Woodhayes. I felt she spent her last weeks safe and cared for. I couldn’t be more happy with the care she received at a difficult time and I was very thankful that she spent her last weeks in such a caring environment.
My father has been a resident of Woodhayes since June. He was discharged from the hospital and wasn't expected to live long. It is now October and it's a testament to the excellent care he has received here. He tells us he is really looked after here. We find all the staff lovely and both caring of my father and supportive of us.
My wife's stay was all too brief at Woodhayes but the end-of-life care she received helped my family and myself to feel less stressed at the very sad time. The staff and management created an outstanding atmosphere of friendliness and attentiveness. Eighty years ago I was born in Woodhayes Maternity Home as it was then, so the personal contact is very special.
My darling mum was treated with care, respect and compassion during her stay at Woodhayes and all the staff were so kind and caring at all times and especially through the last days of our beloved mum's life.
I am so grateful for the care you provided for my mother during the six months she stayed at Woodhayes. The staff were all welcoming and professional and treated Mum with kindness and respect.
On 12 April 2023, my aunt sadly passed away at Woodhayes Nursing Home. My mother and I spent the day by her side. The staff were very caring, discreet and comforting. We were able to come and go. I liaised with the manager, the nurse and the GP who visited on the day. The staff looked after us and made several cups of tea, which my mum really appreciated. I am very grateful to the staff for being kind, caring and compassionate toward us.
I will be forever grateful to the wonderful staff at Woodhayes for the care they gave to my mum in the last months of her life. She had some complex needs but they managed to raise a smile from her everyday. She was treated with kindness and dignity throughout her time there. My only regret is that we didn't move her to this excellent home sooner.
My mum and I visit her sister who has dementia regularly. We come from Dorset. the home is very clean and tidy. the staff are welcoming and friendly, always recognise that mum is her sister. My aunt's room is immaculate and has been made her own, with lots of familiar items around her and family photos. I am a retired general nurse and it is heartening to witness the high standard of care she receives. Well done to all at Woodhayes. Thank you.
I have been here for fifteen months, and during this time I have experienced very good care, comfort and respect. A bonus was having a friendly staff able to have a joke and a laugh.
Although my mother was only at Woodhayes for just over a week before she died, the family were impressed with the care she received. All the staff were friendly, supportive and helpful and made us very welcome when visiting.
I want to express our thanks to Woodhayes for the care of my father for a few weeks before he passed away. Finding a nursing home for a relative is difficult and we found the staff really friendly and helpful. We were impressed with his care and the support for the relatives. We also received help with the attendance allowance application, which was really illuminating as to the extensive skills and tasks required to provide 24/7 nursing care, in a dignified and safe manner.
Although my mother has only been a resident at Woodhayes for a few weeks, I am very impressed with the care and attention that she receives. The staff and management team are a vast improvement compared to the previous care home that we moved her from. The care staff are very friendly and helpful and my mum is so much happier. There is always someone available when needed. My thanks are nowhere near enough to the caring staff that look after Mum.
All the staff are great and it is a very well-run home.
Our aunt was moved here from the hospital following a fall. We were very anxious about the move as she is a very independent lady and had previously stated she did not want to go home. Two weeks into her stay at Woodhayes, she is loving it! She actively participates in all aspects of home life, from hairdressing to singing sessions, she is in her element. Woodhayes has offered her the social and safety elements she needs at this time of life and we are hugely grateful to all the staff for the easy transition. Highly recommend.
Woodhayes is a kind and caring community. My mother has lived here for three years, and my father two before he passed away. They have always been treated with compassion and kindness. The home is always responsive to our enquiries and requests.
