View Full Details of Woodland VillaAfter a week in hospital the Occupational Therapy Team recommended that my mother was placed in to residential care at Woodland Villa prior to her return to home. My mother cannot praise the care she has received from the home's nursing, and administration staff, highly enough. From the outset it was clear that all of the staff are compassionate to their patients and the engagement with my mum was second to none and allowed her to settle into her temporary home with ease. The home is spotlessly clean, the food is excellent, and all of the staff go the extra mile for the residents and, the resident's family by keeping them updated and welcomed during visits. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Woodland Villa.
Mum was placed here following a lengthy spell in hospital and various other care facilities, I cannot praise the owners and staff enough for the care and compassion shown to my mum. Mum has been awarded permanent residential status and is extremely happy as she feels safe, well cared for and valued. The staff treat all residents with kindness and always try to ensure they are listened to, often just stopping to chat and make sure they are OK. I couldn't wish for a better home for my mum.
Woodland Villa is inadequate. Unfortunately, Mum was placed here by the hospital board. Mum had a lung condition which meant she had to have oxygen 24/7. Woodland Villa found it difficult to obtain Oxygen cylinders to allow Mum to meet other residents in the dining room when having lunch and dinner, mum had to eat her meals in her room on her own for a week and a half. We had concerns about Mum's oxygen that it wasn't being regularly monitored by staff sometimes the oxygen was on but the airflow was off, empty oxygen cylinder and the oxygen wasn't even switched on. Family informed the medical staff but this still continued, we would be extremely concerned of this and we would visit at least three times a day. Just be aware this home is now on a safeguard not from the family but from the doctors when they admitted Mum to the hospital.
My mother went into the home at 99 years old, and we did not think she would last till 100 years old. But with the care and love she has received, she celebrated her 100th birthday with a party that the home arranged and family were able to come in as well, and it was a fantastic day. She is still enjoying the food, which is very good and enjoying the company. Other services are provided by the activities coordinator, chefs, laundry and maintenance staff. The owner and staff are very caring, and the standard of care is first-class. Every time we visit, we are greeted with a smile from every member of staff, and the home ethos is that everybody is family, and that is true.
My grandmother came to Woodland Villa after a nasty fall at home. Straight away she felt at ease and is well looked after. The staff are very helpful and kind. She enjoys the activities in the big light garden room with the other residents. She is really enjoying the food and has a wide variety each day. My grandmother has now decided to stay at Woodland Villa permanently as she is so much happier with the company and care provided. She has a beautiful clean room and her clothes are washed, ironed and back to her after a day. The boss and management are excellent, nothing is too much trouble.
I was discharged from hospital following my operation, for respite care until able to return home, I wish to say that my time spent at Woodland was a very restful one, with excellent care both day and night, the food was great and the added luxury of having my clothes laundered was a bonus. The home was well looked after in cleanliness and without any smell. I cannot thank the staff enough for being there for me.
I have been a resident of Woodland Villa for over two years and before that placed here for respite care. I was placed here for respite care, discharged here from hospital and chose to stay for the nursing care because of the esteem this home is held in by local hospitals, doctors, outside nursing, care and OT's. My time here has shown me nursing and care is given professionally and properly by all staff with warmth, inclusion and dignity. Other services are provided by an activities coordinator, chefs, laundry and maintenance staff. The home is kept very clean by a staff of three and p/t staff. The well funded activities coordinator with her enthusiasm includes every resident in games, quizzes, trips, gardening, p/t staff assist. Laundry is returned clean and ironed the next day. Maintenance responds immediately to any reported fault. Chefs menu is age, ethnicity and personal preference related. Served in a dining room or rooms, it is hot, ample and well presented. The home has no smell.
The home is dirty never seen anyone use a vacuum. Food is sometimes cold or not cooked properly, not enough to eat, room needs curtains hung properly. Would not recommend this home at all, in fact, I think it could do with an outsider checking it.
