View Full Details of Mount Olivet Nursing HomeThe review only specifies 1 month but my review is based on a 12 month residency. I visited the nursing home prior to my Mother taking up residency. I was struck firstly by the cleanliness of all areas I saw. The rooms I saw, that my Mother would be offered, were all light, and well decorated. These rooms either had views onto a well kept garden, with patio door access, or on upper floors, a sea and coastal view. The manageress was both professional and reassuring. I made my decision on my initial assessment, not the CQC rating. The latest rating is now rated at 'good',which is well deserved. All carer staff are very well trained and carry out their role professionally. The home has its own transport, and driver. A variety of interests and entertainment is provided. The nursing staff listen to residents families and do carry out their wishes if these are sensible and do not jeopardise the residents health. The management is excellent, giving confidence in the care provided.
It has been my first experince at staying in a nursing home. The overall standard of care is good and I have been treated with dignity by staff. The management is excellent and the rooms are good.
My wife is at Mount Oliveet Nursing Home, caring, nursing management. Excellent.
Having to move my mother unexpectedly into care after a deterioration in health, was made so much easier due to the diligence and respect shown by all of the staff and management at Mount Olivet. Mum adjusted so much more quickly than I expected due to the friendly and welcoming staff who engaged with her. The care and attention demonstrated were always to the highest level, and whenever I visited, Mum always spoke highly of everyone. She even went as far as saying that she missed everyone there when admitted to hospital. Sadly we lost Mum recently, but I am so grateful to everyone at Mount Olivet for the care and compassion they showed her, and I wish to extend our sincere thanks for making her final days happy ones.
My friend has a lovely room with a lovely outlook and lovely attentive staff who are very welcoming. The food that she's given she really enjoys as it's very varied and tasty! Her favourite is the trifle!
I live four hours from the area. I had to be assured that my father was treated with respect for his dignity and well-being. During my visits, I could see that there was a genuine warmth to all in their care. Moreso that this warmth towards the staff from Father was reciprocal.
Staying here to regain my independence after a stay in hospital. All staff are nothing but professional, polite, funny but most of all caring. Nothing is too much trouble. They are taking very good care of me, and for that, I salute them.
A member of the hospital staff helped me choose a nursing home for my brother. I lived in the north of England and my brother had lived in Devon. He wished to remain in Devon. After speaking to management I made my decision. My brother was happy there, he said the staff were caring and on my visits, I found them supportive.
Came here for convalescence after 5 months in hospital and leg amputation/ Superb place, lovely room, caring staff, hands-on manager. Would recommend to anyone. 10 out of 10.
The care and dedication your lovely staff have given to my sister over the last three years has been truly wonderful. Not only did you do your very best for my sister, but also your kindness to me made a very difficult time so much easier. My heartfelt thanks to you all, I wish you all good health and happiness in all you do in the future. My grateful thanks.
My mother lived at Mount Olivet for several months until she passed away just before Christmas. She received end-of-life care and passed away peacefully at the grand old age of 92. I would like to thank all the staff at Mount Olivet for their kind and loving care of my mother. Including the manager, the nurses and all the wonderful carers. A staff member needs a special mention. Also including the housekeeping staff, the chefs and kitchen staff. Not only did they provide my mother with exceptional care at the most difficult time of her life, they also looked after our family so well at such a distressing time. They really made a very challenging time bearable. I will never forget their care. I would recommend this nursing home wholeheartedly. Thank you all for your kindness.
My dad received palliative care at Mount Olivet. Sadly he was only there for a couple of weeks before he passed away. Dad received the most amazing care by all the carers, nurses, I didn't have to worry about anything. Nothing was too much trouble and I'm sure Dad was grateful for all the kindness he was shown. The staff were all lovely, friendly, polite and helpful. They looked after me as much as Dad, always checking I was ok, if I needed food and drinks, I was even allowed to sleep in Dad's room to be with him. I can't thank Mount Olivet enough. Thank you for everything.
I have always been greeted with courtesy and friendliness upon visiting a resident. Staff are always polite and helpful and the resident I visit seems well cared for and content. Bedrooms and communal areas are clean and comfortable and each room looks as homely as possible, with the resident's own items. There seems to be plenty of activities for residents to participate in (exercise, music and creative) and it is lovely to see their artwork on display. There is a welcoming and warm atmosphere in the home. Many thanks to all staff for making this possible.
Our friend of over 40 years moved into Mount Olivet Nursing Home about two months ago, and we have come from Birmingham to visit her on several occasions, staying nearby for several days on each occasion. We are very pleased with the home. Her room is very pleasant and well equipped with a good view of the attractive rear garden. The meals are good and attractively served. The best aspect of the home is the staff who are very friendly, and we feel we have got to know them quite well. They are hardworking and clearly care for the welfare of the residents, so we are really happy with the home and are confident our friend is being well cared for.
The care staff are friendly and helpful. Tolerant with a client who can be difficult.
A courteous staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Good standard of cleanliness.
I am extremely pleased with the quality of care I am receiving at Mount Olivet Nursing Home. The carers are always attentive, day and night and they attend to your needs. Whatever the time of the day when you call them they attend to you promptly. Same is true of the nurses. The quality of meals is excellent. I think I am lucky to have chosen Mount Olivet.
All the staff are so friendly. Regularly cleaned throughout. Regular activities for the residents, sometimes out of the home, which we didn't think our dad would be able to do again. Birthday gifts and cake, along with Christmas and Easter too. Communication is good - if there has been a problem, someone from the home has called without delay. Highly recommend.
I found the staff very friendly and helpful. One member of staff was very nice.
