View Full Details of Warberries Nursing HomeAlways amazing whenever we go in. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Our relative is well looked after and always looks good, clean, and well-dressed. We have no concerns or negative comments about the home. Very pleased with our choice.
I would thoroughly recommend The Warberries Nursing Home. My mother has been a resident there for the past 13 months, and the whole team have made such a positive difference to her life. She suffered a stroke last year, and after coming back home, we realised that her care needs were too complicated for us to be able to cope with, even with the highest home-care package provided by the NHS. We had to make the very difficult decision to place her in a home, and she was moved to the Warberries on an emergency basis. From Day 1, both my mum and our family have been made to feel part of a very large and extended family. She has made some incredible friendships with the staff, and the caring nature of everyone there has helped her to adjust and settle into her new life. Her medical needs are quite complex, and this is handled professionally and with compassion, ensuring that both she and us feel included in all decisions and that she is treated with the utmost dignity and care.
There is no doubt that the Activities Coordinator makes a total difference in this establishment. He is the glue that keeps the whole thing together so as long as he’s there, it’s all good. The Manager is also brilliant and extraordinarily helpful at all times, and I must also add that the Administrator in reception is first-class.
Mum seems to be happy in the home and appears to enjoy the banter between herself and the staff which keeps her amused. She also enjoys the bingo. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. The gardens are well maintained and a lovely aspect to sit outside and even view the fish in the pond.
Lovely nursing home, 100% care for my son, nothing is too much trouble. Lovely, friendly and professional staff. Can not fault the home at all, my son came from a hospice to the Warberries Nursing Home, he said it's nice here.
All the staff at the Warberries Nursing Home Torquay are amazing people, right through from the housekeeping, chefs, carers and management. My dad passed away recently in their home. They were an amazing support to me and my father and have nursed him for years. They are so knowledgeable, kind, caring and nothing was too much trouble. They showed me such kindness, took time to talk to me and my dad, which was a real comfort to us both. They gave me food, drink and even a bed for the night in a lovely room in those last days. Forever grateful to them all.
My mum was admitted for end of life care in August 2018. She was with the Warberries Nursing Home for 2-3 weeks before she passed away. In that time the staff could not have been more caring or kind, always showing my mother great compassion and kindness. Although very ill, my mother was able to appreciate their kindness and thought the staff were all lovely. They made her last few weeks as comfortable as they could be. In addition, the staff were a great support to me - for which I will always be grateful. I have nothing but praise for them.
My father-in-law has been here since September 2016. He has advanced dementia, so he can be difficult to manage. The staff at Warberries Nursing Home are caring, kind and empathetic. I am extremely pleased with his care. Staff are always present and available for any concerns. The home is clean, warm and the food is good and nourishing. Even though my father-in-law is on a pureed diet, he has gained weight in his short stay. The manager is always available and has gone the extra mile to help. I would recommend Warberries Nursing Home.
A warm welcome, just the right temperature and the staff are friendly. I would recommend this retirement home to anyone who likes a sea view and would like to relax and have peace of mind.
My mother who died recently was the care of Warberries and another home from 2009, both homes were owned by the same company and the care provided was good, and over time has become excellent. The staff treated my mother with great affection and warmth and even took time out of their own life to care for her. Recently she had several hospital appointments and because she had dementia she as confused and frightened. Staff members stayed with her beyond their shift times and some volunteered to sit with her in her room even if it was outside of their work time. The level of cleanliness has risen there are no bad smells. The number of activities has increased. The staff are gentle, kind and respectful. There's a free atmosphere with friends and relatives coming and going, a feel of genuine welcome. This is a can do place. All the food is home cooked and attractively preserved, even if it has to be mashed.
Mum has only been there for a few weeks. She is a very poorly lady and requires 24 hour care. From the start all of the staff and management have shown great care towards both mum, myself and my sister. I cannot praise the home enough. Mum is always shown great respect and treated with great dignity. We are always kept up to date with any changes in her treatment, and one comfort to us is that we know mum is so well looked after.
