View Full Details of Zetland CourtMy mum has been a resident at Red admiral Wing since Sept 24 after a 5 week stay in hospital. At the end of which she was unable to walk or feed herself. Thanks to the care of the staff mum can now walk well with the use of her frame and can feed herself. Myself and my dad were dreading her having to go into a home, but I can honestly say it's the best out come for all of us. The food is lovely, there are always activities for the residents: music and singing, baking, flower arranging, painting to name a few. The staff are all friendly and caring and the manager is outstanding. Myself and my dad both feel part of the Red Admiral family.
Our mum came to red admiral view at Zetland court a few weeks ago. Having Alzheimer's it's been a very difficult time for her but with the help and support of all the lovely staff at Zetland Court she is settling in nicely. Their attention and care has been so lovely and given us all great comfort. Her personal care needs are being met and she has 3 square meals a day and lots of snacks in between. She is slowly beginning to get more comfortable with her surroundings. We as a family feel very confident that she is in safe hands. We have regular updates on how mum is doing when we haven't seen her which is a great comfort. It's only 5 mins from the seafront so a lovely area to take your loved ones for some fresh air and a change of scenery. Would highly recommend.

Every care and consideration provided much needed respite and support at Zetland Court.
A frequent visitor both to residents and to give talks, this home looks and feels like a 4* hotel throughout the ground floor and grounds, the bedrooms are maintained to a good standard to be functional and inviting, and all the staff are both professional and friendly. Should I ever need to consider residency of a care home this is where I want to be.
Zetland Court is somewhere where you know that your loved one is looked after. The attention to care is second to none and all the staff are 'friends' as well. One big family. All are helping in the absence of activities coordinator to keep the residents amused.
Zetland Court went above and beyond looking after Dad whilst he was there for respite care. The ambience in the home is brilliant, and the staff are amazing. I hope Dad doesn't need respite care again in the near future, and when he does need it again, Zetland Court will be the first place I call. If I could give it 6 stars, I would.
After visiting the dementia unit daily for many months I cannot praise them too highly. It is a pleasant place to be in the company of the carers and manager, not to mention the housekeeping staff and those in the kitchen. My husband has settled and appears happy and I am content that he has the best care available.
Zetland Court is a lovely home set in beautiful grounds. The staff are all cheerful, caring and professional. Mum is always saying how lovely they all are and how well she is being looked after. She enjoys the company of both the staff, the volunteers and the other residents. She particularly looks forward to being able to treat herself and has her hair done once a week, in the onsite hair salon. She joins in with many of the activities that are arranged and enjoys the weekly residents' meeting in the large lounge with the home manager. The food is generally quite good although there have been some occasions recently where it has not been as good but I understand that Zetland Court are aware of some issues with the catering and is working to improve this. I would definitely recommend Zetland Court and thank you for looking after Mum so well.
We are writing this to tell you what lovely, compassionate and helpful colleagues you have at Zetland Court. From day one we were made to feel as if we were one of a family. The care our stepfather at 100 years old received was exemplary, nothing was too much trouble even though he had only a short time in your care home. We even asked if he could have his last days back in his room after having a day in hospital which he did. Your administration, catering and care teams are a credit to you, nothing was too much trouble. We know now we should have arranged for him to be a resident much earlier and perhaps he would have reached his 101 birthday. All your care much appreciated.
My mother is receiving the best care possible and is coming up to her 101st birthday. Ever since she came to Zetland Court she has been looked after very well and I can only praise the dedication and kindness of the staff.
My mother decided to move in permanently after a trial period. She spent one night back in her old apartment then surprised everyone by arriving at Zetland Court in a taxi to ask if her room was still free. She feels really at home out on the veranda enjoying the garden and in the lounges and has stopped worrying about day-to-day organization. She enjoys the contact with other people at meals and activities. The opportunity to video call her is vital to me as I live abroad and I particularly look forward to seeing photos of her on social media. I spent many weeks visiting Mum at Zetland and we are both convinced she has made the best choice. A lovely carer accompanies her to hospital appointments. All the employees and volunteers, eg in the office, restaurant, care team, cleaning, technicians and laundry work so hard to create a respectful, caring, safe and fun atmosphere, thank you!
My mother went for a 3-week visit extended by several more weeks as she broke her wrist in a fall. The fall was no one's fault but Mum needed more assistance in toileting, mobility and personal care. The staff whilst welcoming and busy seemed to be overstretched. For example, whilst mum had no continence issues she was made to wear incontinence wear as they seemed to have insufficient staff to be able to assist her in moving to the toilet. What I felt was detrimental to her dignity and staff attitude was why are you ringing when you have a pad on? On a couple of occasions I saw no staff during my whole visit, is there any check on people entering the building? A secure door opens when you ring but I could wander about anywhere unchallenged. This is a lovely building, room that was always clean, activity sheet seemed to be repeated every week though, I was not present enough to judge properly. No, I do not want Mum to return, it is going to take weeks to get her back as she was, if we can.
I find the staff at the Red Admiral Wing to be very friendly, helpful and most importantly caring. They look after my mum very well and indeed have taken good care of her for the last 8 years. The home is always clean and tidy and there are lots of activities laid on to stimulate those being cared for. I feel the staff go to great lengths to make the home a very happy place to be.
My mother came to Zetland Court on discharge from hospital, following a lengthy stay as an in-patient. The team have made her feel very much at home and went out of their way to make her transition comfortable and stress-free. Having been there for the last six months, Mum is so much happier, she is eating well and has gained a little weight at last. She very much feels part of the community and thoroughly enjoys all the activities. I cannot thank the team there enough, my mother is really enjoying her life there and at 99 years old, it is exactly where she wants to be! The staff are always smiling and happy to help, so very kind and patient.
My mother has been a resident at Zetland Court for almost one year. The care and respect she is given by all staff members, not to mention their patience is outstanding. The cleanliness and upkeep of the house are excellent (the latter being no small undertaking). And therefore, the relief and peace of mind this gives my brother and me is so good, it's difficult to express in words. The activities and entertainment arranged for every day are normally excellent and are improving, post the pandemic week by week. Particularly with the addition of minibus trips out to nearby locations and attractions. The only negative over the past year surrounds the kitchen and quality of food; a well-known situation which is also improving week by week. My thanks go to all the staff and team members at Zetand Court - for their constant care and respect for my mum! Not to mention their incredible professionalism, hard work, dedication, and patience. Thank you.
Since 2017 my mother has been a resident both in the main Zetland Court and in recent years in Red Admiral. In this time she has been very happy. In recent years, she has needed more care in Red Admiral, which specializes in dementia and the care is excellent. They always have celebrations for prominent dates during the year, especially over December for Christmas. As well as all the activities that are planned for enjoyment and stimulation. I cannot speak highly enough of the care, particularly from Sue the manager of Red Admiral. They are extremely caring and, do their best for the individual people.
My mum passed away on the 22nd of February 2024 at the grand age of 101 years after being at Zetland for the last 2 years! She loved it there and was constantly saying how happy she was with her care! Her best time was spent in the beautiful gardens or joining in the craft projects which were always on the go! The last year her health wasn't as good so she was confined to her room most of the time but she was never lonely as the staff were always popping in and out! All the staff without exception were wonderful, caring and kind and always went the extra mile to make all the resident's lives as happy and worthwhile as possible. I would definitely recommend Zetland Court as I would personally be happy to be a resident there if it was necessary!
What a lucky lady my mum is to be a resident at Red Admiral. As a family we couldn't be any happier with all the care and activities that they do for the residents, you can see this from the photos they have on their social media page mum has always got a big smile on her face. The team at Red Admiral are taking mum and another resident to the theatre, mum has not stopped talking about it. Well done To the Manager and the team at Red Admiral. From one very happy daughter.
Wow, what an amazing care home, my mother is being cared for in the Red Admiral Unit at Zetland Court, could not have chosen a better place for her to be, the staff are absolutely amazing, day and night. The care and time they give to her is beyond praise, she has come on leaps and bounds since being placed there, staff can not do enough for all their residents. First class home. Could not wish for a better manager she puts her heart and soul into making the residents and her team a priority. Well done Red Admiral.
