View Full Details of The AldburyExcellent care, very grateful.
My sister and I spent many months looking for a home for our father who has dementia. In total, we looked at 10 homes. The Aldbury was the second home we visited and we were always drawn back there. Our father has been there for almost four months and we are beyond satisfied with his care. It feels like our second home as everyone from the fantastic team to the manager welcomes us so warmly and Dad is superbly looked after.
Although the stay was just 3 months, the care and attention provided to my wife was excellent. The staff were always attentive both to my wife and all visitors. All visitors have made comments to me to the effect that The Aldbury was a lovely welcoming home. Contact with me was good at all times and the manager and head nurse deal spent a good deal of time with me in discussions over several issues. Thoroughly recommend The Aldbury.
My Father moved from another local Care Home in May. As a family, we were anxious that it be a positive move for him as it would undoubtedly distress him. The support that we had from The Aldbury in assisting this move was fantastic. They visited him in his previous setting and carried out a detailed pre-assessment. Everything regarding the move was carefully planned through. To visit him the next day, sitting calmly in the lounge, chuckling away having his hair cut by the hairdresser was a priceless moment. I hadn't seen him that calm for some time. He has had his ups and downs at The Aldbury, but that's his condition, and the staff have ensured that he is living as well as he can with his dementia. The staff are helpful, approachable, 'eyes on', professional and treat my Father with dignity. The home is clean, the food good. Both the Manager and Clinical Lead always have time for us. Their professionalism and care are exemplary and an absolute credit to the home.
I have found all the staff and management to be very informative. Professional, caring and friendly. Always happy to listen and chat about your concerns. I am very happy with the care being given, always with a smile and happy to go that extra mile. I would not hesitate to recommend The Aldbury for the wonderful care and service they provide.
Respite stay for medication review and care. Despite some initial concerns we were almost immediately relieved at the welcome received and the ability of the staff to act with ability in dealing with the symptoms of Alzheimer's, the various staff have a manner hard to explain but it shows that they are well trained in this field. Should you require respite care you would be hard-pressed to find better care.
The home is always warm and welcoming. My wife has chosen to stay here due to the great care she receives. Staff are very kind and jovial. Activities are very good - involve my wife and just recently took her to a pantomime. They are now planning her 50th Birthday party.
My husband always enjoys spending the day at The Aldbury. He takes part in all the activities they provide, like chatting with the others, staff and residents alike. It is good that he has other company rather than just being with me at home. It gives me some respite too.
Our relative moved to the Aldbury in June 2023. This care home is absolutely amazing. The care is second to none, nothing is too much trouble. The carers, therapists and nurses are always there to answer any questions we may have. the communal areas are kept very clean and beautifully decorated. Our relative is very contented here.
Great home with staff to match who are caring and thoughtful.
Overall, the experience we have had so far at The Aldbury has been excellent. I find all the staff friendly, enthusiastic, kind and caring, from housekeeping, entertainment and nursing through to management. The activities laid on for all the residents really help engage my husband, and I appreciate also being included in many of these, so I can see how everything works. The only area of concern is the rise in costs and as my husband can no longer go out on any trips and struggles with a lot of the activities, the value for money is a concern.
My mum has been at The Aldbury for ten months now and we have been so happy with the care given to her. The home itself is always spotlessly clean, the staff are incredible and show so much respect and kindness to the residents. My mum was very reluctant to move into a home but she is now so content and comfortable. The food is wonderful, especially the cake! She loves it!
My grandmother is very well looked after and the staff are amazing! I couldn't wish for her to be in a better place. As a family, it was a difficult decision to put my grandmother into a care home, everyone at The Aldbury made the transition so easy.
The staff are amazing and there to help if you are a resident or family, always smiling and friendly. I wouldn't have my nan anywhere else. Always plenty of activities and relatives.
My mum is so well cared for, it is so lovely to see her known by the staff and her needs understood and met. She is always dressed with care, engaged in activities, and she is enabled to live her best life that she is able to do. Thank you to all the staff at The Aldbury.
The Aldbury has a very safe environment and is very accessible for families to visit. Communication is very good. The reception area keeps up to date with calendars and magazines which have articles of activities. I recently went with Mum who is a permanent resident there, to the coronation garden party, well attended by residents and their families. Many events happen daily, arranged by the activities team. Once a month a senior clinician shares a health review for Mum. I can speak with a carer about Mum's care at any time. Mums hair always looks beautiful after a visit to the salon, due to the care of the stylist, who brings out the best in residents. I visit once a week and find nobody is too busy to stop and answer questions. The carers are genuinely happy looking after Mum with affection and helping her have a fantastic experience. The Aldbury is an excellent, care home, which I have experienced first hand as a relative and Mum is very happy and well looked after there.
My mum has just passed away and spent the last year of her life at this wonderful care home. The staff were always helpful and friendly. There were activities every day and Mum got to do things such as dancing and gardening that she had been able to do when at home. An important thing for Mum was to look nice and having her hair done every week gave her such a sense of self-worth and respect.
When my parents reached the point of needing to move into care, it was a very stressful and worrying time. The staff at The Aldbury made the whole process as good as it possibly could be, showing understanding, professionalism and high levels of care and support for both my parents and us as a family. The home is bright, clean, positive and full of care and respect. The regular staff know my parents well. There is a wide range of interesting activities and outings and the food is fabulous home cooking, which my parents love. We have great communication with all the team; the nursing team have relieved us of so many worries and we feel confident that they are so well cared for both physically and emotionally. We particularly appreciate the person-centred approach and flexibility - enabling us to visit any time, share celebrations etc in what feels like a luxury home from home. We are constantly impressed with the quality of life The Aldbury has enabled my parents to achieve.
The manager and staff are very approachable and work well together as a team. The staff are friendly and go the extra mile to help the residents. The cleanliness of the home and the residents is excellent and the residents are well cared for. I am very pleased with how Mum is looked after at this care home and would recommend it to other families looking for dementia care for their relatives.
My mother has been at this care home for the last six months and has been happy there. I was concerned at first that she may have found it difficult, being the only ethnic person there, but they have shown her a great deal of care and affection; I actually think that she has taught them quite a few things about her culture. I have had a couple of issues, but the care coordinator listened and promised to deal with them immediately. No matter where you are, there will be issues you are concerned with, but the important thing is to have them listened to and fixed. On the whole, really happy with The Aldbury.
Excellent care, very grateful.
