View Full Details of Chalgrove Care and Nursing HomeWonderful and loving care for my mother for more than ten years almost to her 100th birthday. My review is about Edwardian building. Special thanks to the manager and other members of the team. Also to another member of staff and her hard working colleagues. Thanks too to the activities team. I visited almost every day and was treated as part of the Chalgrove family.
The care was very good, the carers and nurses were all very caring and considerate to my mother, she was very well. I know the home put on daily activities, the ones I knew about were always very good, but my mother did not attend activities on a daily basis, as she was bedridden most of the time. The staff did hoist my mother in and out of bed, but eventually she was to frail for that to happen unfortunately
Dreadful place. My stepmum was placed here further to being hospitalised Feb 2024. She had Alzheimer's and had lost the ability to walk, feed herself or communicate. My father chose a room on the ground floor but was persuaded to change to a room on the 1st floor as was told bigger room would allow them to get a hoist in so she could get to lounge/dining room. She never left the room once in the 3 months she was there! Her view was the side of a wardrobe. She had no care and her condition rapidly deteriorated. Always thirsty when we visited. Had to get SS involved to get her moved out before she died there. Moved to a great home in the end where she improved and was treated with dignity and respect.
Its such a relief to know that mum is happy and well looked after in her forever home. The staff and management are caring, friendly and professional. Mum enjoys the activities, entertainment and her days out. Charlgrove is very homely, clean and tidy. I have no concerns or complaints. Charlgrove, thank you.
Beautiful place, lovely staff. All committed to the care of the residents and their family. My mum was happy being a resident at Chalgrove Care and Nursing Home as all of the staff were very caring and supportive of my mum's needs.
Since our dad moved from hospital to Charlgrove Care he has gone from strength to strength, thanks to the wonderful team looking after him at Charlgrove. When dad left hospital, we thought he was at the end of his life, but with the care and support from Charlgrove dad is still with us and is doing better than any of us had hoped. The staff treat dad with care and respect and always keep us informed as to his well-being. Even though Charlgrove is a long way from where we live, having considered moving dad closer to us, we have decided that we could not guarantee the care he would receive elsewhere would be as good as it is here. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the staff for being so kind and looking after our wonderful dad so well.
All the staff are so friendly and helpful. Mum is happy and well cared for. Dad is made welcome and can stay for lunch with Mum, which is lovely to see that they can both still spend time together. The front door is always opened with a welcoming greeting, and we leave knowing mum is receiving the best care. The care coordinator makes so much effort to entertain the residents, and it's great to see updates of their weekly entertainment on their website.
My Mum has been cared for very well here, I don't think I've heard her laugh so much and there is always music on somewhere, which she loves. The staff are fantastic and always seem happy and helpful.
The staff are polite, and I feel at home every time I visit. I have no complaints. As I have no concerns, everything is fine. No problems.
My dad was a vibrant, independent 90 year old until he broke his hip, underwent surgery and it was established that he could no longer live independently. Following his surgery his underlying dementia accelerated overnight and the difficult decision to seek nursing care was taken. I am very happy that we chose Chalgrove to look after Dad. He was comfortable, treated with respect and love and spent his last year being very well supported. All staff members have been incredibly kind and supportive to us as a family when they knew that we were struggling with his deterioration and I am comforted to know that he was looked after so well until the very end.
Excellent care from the manager and the staff. They made my dad's last days calm and peaceful. Very professional and nothing was too much for them to accommodate. I was able to visit at any time and always talk about specific needs for Dad.
Very happy with the care provided for my mother. She has settled well and likes all the staff that she comes into contact with. The staff are always professional, caring and friendly. Would recommend Chalgrove.
The staff always very friendly and pleased to see you. I was advised that I could book myself in to have lunch with my Aunt which I did. It was sunny that day and we ate outside. It was lovely and was nice to share that normal experience with my aunt.
There is always a friendly welcome at Chalgrove. The staff are caring and helpful. Visiting is a very positive experience.
My mum went to Chalgrove Care and Nursing Home following a stay in hospital. We were unable to visit due to the pandemic but were in contact with the home. When we were able to start visiting, the staff were extremely welcoming and over the past year have been caring and supportive. The care they showed to my mum was exceptional and were with her even in her last moments. Thank you to all the hardworking staff at Chalgrove.
My mother has been at Edwardian House since June 2022 and settled in very well. She is very happy with the nursing and assistant staff there who are all very friendly and take very good care of her. The nursing staff have been excellent and helped with her medical treatment to get the right balance of medications for her various ailments. I know that my mother is in very safe and capable hands and the nursing staff keep me updated on any developments. A big thank you from me to all the staff at Edwardian for their excellent work and care.
My late aunt was a resident at Chalgrove Care and Nursing Home for about a year. My brother and I were very comfortable with the way staff responded to us as well as the kind, professional care our late aunt received at Chalgrove. A good test for us was the quality of the food served was restaurant standard.
My wife has been at Chalgrove Care and Nursing Home for the last eighteen months, during that time I have found the staff, nurses and careers to be extremely sympathetic and professional in their treatment of my wife. I base this judgement on the fact that I go into the home every day, seven days a week to feed her lunch as she is now unable to feed herself. I would hasten to add that I do this purely from choice and hopefully allowing a member of staff to help another resident. In conclusion, I would say that my experience during what is obviously a very difficult time has been one of relief knowing that she is in safe hands.
My mother and brother are both residents at the care home and I know from experience that the staff and management are second to none. They are both looked after extremely well. I am always kept up to date with their condition, by phone if urgent. I know they are both in safe hands.
The care home is truly incredible. Our father was with Chalgrove Care and Nursing Home for six months. They were the last six months of his life. The care workers he classed as his friends, they made him laugh and they cared for him dearly. He was truly in safe hands. Every decision they ever made was always the best for our dad. We will always be eternally grateful.
