View Full Details of Barchester Badgeworth Court Care HomeThe majority of the carers did not know how to treat a resident who is quadriplegic, e.g. they did not appreciate that she could'nt use a standard glass for water or lift the water jug to fill the glass. She has a water bottle on the back of her wheelchair provided with a drinking tube that needs to be clipped to the front of her clothing, and topped up with water when required, on a number of occasions this was'nt done. She was'nt informed before her arrival that she would need a shower sling to take a shower, she does'nt use one at home. she likes to shower at least twice a week but did'nt get one during her stay. Some carers were not familiar with the use of her night urine bag and woke her during the night to empty it when it did'nt need it. There was some confusion about the administration of certain meds labelled "as required" and the duty nurse did not take her word for their use, although she explained it. Without her knowledge a nurse re-odered all her meds from the surgery
My Dad (92 years old) came to Badgeworth Court for some respite care after a fall. From the moment I first made contact with the care home, I was so impressed with their professionalism and care. During his short stay there, Dad was so well looked after, all the staff were lovely and the food was great! He could not have had better care and I felt so confident and relaxed about leaving him there. He thoroughly enjoyed his week at Badgeworth and with their help, made a speedy recovery.
Badgeworth Court Care Centre provides a beautiful and caring environment. Staff are dedicated and always ready to help. The manager is so caring and dedicated, thank you to all the Badgeworth Court staff for your great work.
I wanted to thank everyone looking after my parents since they moved into the care home. The support I received when visiting or on the telephone/email is invaluable. Dad has been very poorly over Christmas and was admitted to hospital. I felt confident that on discharge back to Badgeworth Court Care Home, all his care needs would be met to a high standard and with dignity. Special mention to the manager and all the nurses and two particular members of staff (my guardian angels).
Sometimes Mum doesn't have the personal care she should as she is unable to get herself to the toilet, being unable to get out of her chair. Also, her legs are not treated as well as they could be - not creamed and dressed.
The family were very reluctant for Mum to go into a care facility but we couldn't be happier with Barchester Badgeworth Court Care Home. Mum settled very quickly and Badgeworth is now 'home'! Mum is treated with courtesy and respect. The staff are a credit to you - lovely girls (and boys, of course!)
Dad was welcomed in a frail state. The nursing care and kindness he received were second to none. The food was of a very high standard. His end-of-life care was compassionate - we can't thank the home enough for caring for him so beautifully.
All the staff are extremely friendly and Mum interacts with them in a positive and friendly way. Mum was very reluctant to go into residential care but has flourished since she arrived. She is well looked after, fed very well, has nursing care on hand if needed and her day-to-day needs are met. The home is very welcoming to my family members, we can come and go any time and often join in with the group activities provided for the residents. The staff are amazing and I would have no issues recommending this home to others.
Barchester Badgeworth Court Care Home is a lovely place where I feel my grandmother gets looked after extremely well, treated with respect and the carers are always upbeat and are amazing with all of the residents. I feel happy that she is there and gets looked after with extreme care. Haven't got a bad word to say about the care my grandmother gets.
As soon as I was shown around Barchester Badgeworth Court Care Home I knew this was the place for my Mother to be cared for and so glad I followed up on recommendation from friends. Beautifully located, it offers wonderful grounds to enjoy with mum. The care my mother received was outstanding and the management team made everything happy and easy and smooth. The care team who looked after mum were wonderful, bringing joy laughter and offering care emotionally as well as physically. They also took care of us as a family, answering our questions, having a good knowledge of dementia and helping us to navigate through a difficult time. We joined in with events, always a cup of tea and cake, nothing was to much to make our time with mum enjoyable. We found a great community spirit with other residents and their families along with the staff. I shall miss seeing the carers, but will always hold them all in my heart. I thank and send appreciation to all at Badgeworth court. It truly is a outstanding care home.
Mum has dementia and after looking after her at home for as long as possible, as her dementia and behaviour deteriorated, my sister and I knew we could no longer safely support her at home. She was very reluctant to go into care but the staff at Barchester Badgeworth Court Care Home were extremely patient, supportive and understanding of all our needs. Mum has absolutely flourished since arriving in late July 2024. She loves the staff, hugs them and generally interacts very well with them. Her room is comfortable with her own bathroom, she is fed very well, there are activities for her to take part in and nursing staff on hand if needed. The grounds are very pretty and there is an outside seating area for the summer. Overall, I am very happy with the care she is receiving and would have no hesitation in recommending Badgeworth Court to others.
Mum has been a resident of Barchester Badgeworth Court Care Home, near Cheltenham for just over a year. We are very happy to know that she has been well looked after by very caring staff, it's a weight off our shoulders to know that Mum has 24-hour care. Mum has settled in well and enjoyed the food and some of the activities.
My mother has been a resident of Barchester Badgeworth Court Care Home for two months. She has dementia and was adamant she was not going into a home. However, it became increasingly difficult to care for her at home and no matter how long I spent with her she was lonely and depressed. Since being at Badgeworth Court, she has come to regard this as her home and is quite happy to leave me at the door and return to her "friends". The staff are lovely and very good with her, nothing is too much trouble. The whole family are happy in the knowledge she is quite content with where she is living and is calm and there is always someone around her.
Of all the homes we looked at, Barchester Badgeworth Court Care Home was way ahead of the rest. Staff are very caring and see to everyone's need, even visitors'.
When Mum became suddenly confused and was unable to return home from hospital, we contacted Barchester Badgeworth Court Care Home on the recommendation of friends' experiences. They responded quickly and were able to provide a place immediately. When Mum arrived, the staff made great efforts to really get to know her and within a week, all the staff appeared to know her and stopped to chat whenever they crossed paths. Time for conversation is clearly a priority at Badgeworth Court. Mum enjoyed the varied activities, many of which are held outdoors. Sadly, Mum's condition deteriorated but the staff adapted their care seamlessly. They have provided exceptional care, demonstrating respect and compassion and helped Mum to retain her dignity. They have also been highly supportive to us, as a family. We would have no hesitation in recommending Badgeworth Court Care Home.
My wife has a rare form of Alzheimer's and as such she presents a challenge. Her mood varies considerably from day to day and sometimes within the day. The care provided is consistently compassionate and being adapted to meet varying needs. I am kept informed. There are good links to the local GP and the Care Home Support Service.
My experience of the care home is excellent. My mother has been here since December 2022 and is exceptionally well looked after. All the staff, including administrative, housekeeping, activity, caring, nursing and kitchen staff are very welcoming. The level of care and kindness from the caring and nursing staff is excellent. I would always be happy to recommend this home. My family and I always feel very grateful that my mother is so well looked after.
I have nothing but praise for the manager and the staff at Barchester Badgeworth Court Care Home. They were kind, polite, supportive and very caring. How they cope with 12-hour shifts is remarkable. However, I do have concerns regarding staffing levels at night. On one occasion, I called for help to assist my wife to the toilet. A cover come and said she would come after handover. She did return after 20 minutes only to say she was needed elsewhere. It was over an hour before she retuned. This would cause distress to any patient. People are paying good money for what is an inadequate service. This is not a reflection on the staff at Badgeworth Court but the staffing ratio levels set by Barchester. Please give extra support for these staff working extremely hard on the night shifts.
Well-run with effective and hands-on manager and delightfully kind and effective caring and nursing staff. They cared compassionately and professionally for my pa in the last year of his life and ensured my mother's last year with him (they shared a room) was as happy as possible. All the staff are very good at kindness and cheerfulness. Really good communication with me. And they all made the process of dying and final days as good as it possibly could have been - for my father and for all the family. Outstanding, kind people, diligent and professional staff.
Excellent meeting with the manager and activities coordinator discussing facilities and planning activities regarding our mother.
