View Full Details of Grevill House and Ashley Intermediate Care CentreAfter suffering a stroke, my husband came to Grevill House totally dependent on others for every aspect of his life. He could do nothing for himself. The care provided by the nursing staff and care assistants was exceptional. They were always cheerful and tried to engage with him in any way possible. He was extremely well looked after and treated kindly and with compassion by all. I was always made to feel welcome and any request was acted upon immediately. I cannot speak highly enough of the care provided by Grevill House.
Mum was treated with dignity, respect and good humour. Staff were cheerful, caring and showed genuine interest in my mother, reassuring us that she was being taken care of and engaged with sensitivity as an individual person, not just a resident or patient.
The staff at Grevill House and Ashley Intermediate Care Centre are really supportive of both my mother and my family. My mum can be and has challenging care needs but I found the team so patient despite difficulties with mum without complaining or becoming annoyed.
Can't thank Ashley House enough, the staff are amazing and great support from the manager and another lady. Nothing was a trouble and I am a very protective daughter, a great place with great people.
The staff were so kind to my mum who had dementia. They made sure she had her powder and lipstick on every day. They were also very supportive at Mum's end of life, laying her to rest with a posy of flowers. Thank you for everything.
My husband has been a resident at this home for 2 years. The care he has had has been exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff here. I have been with my husband for 44 years but have been married for 2 years. We got married in the home. The staff made it a wonderful day for us. A day I will never forget. Thank you to the staff at Grevill House.
I am a very regular visitor to Grevill House, where my twin brother is a resident. Although he has serious and complex health conditions, I am never worried about him as I know he is receiving the very best care. The whole team including the nurses, care team and housekeepers are all lovely. I have known the home manager for 12 years, as she was previously the head nurse at his previous home, where the care was also outstanding. It is often said that the shape of an organisation is a reflection of those at the top and this is definitely the case here. I always love going to Grevill as it is not only a chance to see my brother, but an opportunity to see all the staff whom I hold in the very highest regard. There was one thing I wanted to mention that encapsulates everything that is good about Grevill. On his birthday, the cook had not only baked a cake for him but hand-iced 'Happy Birthday' and his name on it. I have no hesitation in recommending Grevill to anyone.
All staff were extremely helpful. When asked for help and assistance, it was no trouble. My family cannot praise all staff enough for looking after my wife.
All the caring staff are wonderful. They made time to talk with me when I had questions. The admin, cleaning and nurses always managed to chat with me when I had concerns. My husband was always clean and comfy. He ate everything given to him. The area was always clean and tidy on the grounds lovely. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ashley Intermediate Care Centre to anyone who asks. Thank you.
Very good staff starting from management through to cleaning staff. Wonderful, helpful and fab.
Ashley Intermediate carers were so lovely to my late husband, nothing was too much trouble. They treated him with so much dignity as he suffered so much with vascular dementia and I wish there were more places like this.
My close friend was a patient at Ashley Intermediate from June until August. The care he received from the staff was absolutely outstanding. Thank you for all you did. Amazing.
I came here for respite care on 8th June 2024 and I am leaving here tomorrow on 29th June feeling much better. The staff and doctors and nurses have all been delightful and the food delicious. I feel I have greatly benefitted from my stay at Grevill House.
My mother moved into Grevill House in March, she has taken a few weeks to settle in, the team has been very kind and patient with her, and she likes her carers. Living in another part of the country, we have a long drive, but we are made very welcome with tea and biscuits. My mother has a lovely room, the dining area and lounge is bright and cheerful. When you enter Greville House, it is very clean and fresh. The manager is very approachable and understanding.
During my aunt's stay Covid lockdowns happened and long periods when the only lift was out of action happened. All of the staff did their best in those circumstances. Also, the home was totally refurbished. Our suggestions for improvements would be: 1. Stoma supplies and build-up drinks not be over-ordered and kept in a cupboard not in residents' rooms. They are too small. 2. Ensuite bathrooms would improve comfort and dignity as other homes have. 3. The variety of activities provided is good and good quality but a bit erratic in provision. Staff should also encourage residents to attend more and remind and assist them to get to the activity.
Mum was made to feel welcome immediately. She was very anxious and frail when she arrived at Grevill House and Ashley Intermediate Care Centre in December 2023. The change in her has been amazing due to the staff and their care of her. They took time to get to know her and encouraged her to have the confidence to try things independently i.e. dressing/personal care. Mentally and physically she is so much happier than she was when she arrived.
We cannot fault the care my nan received as a family. During her initial few days/weeks when she felt nervous and anxious, the staff were kind, supportive, and patient. They built her confidence to be comfortable in her new environment. All staff were very welcoming of us as family and were always willing to answer any questions we had. My nan was sad to leave for her permanent resident home. The care provided built her strength and confidence hugely.
Very friendly staff, caring and very attentive towards the care of my mother.
My sister was very poorly and confused when she left hospital but when she arrived at Ashley we knew she would be happy. The staff are beyond comparison, they treated her as if she was a family member. The care she received as she became more unwell was fantastic. I really liked the way the staff interacted with one another and always felt my sister was included and loved. The atmosphere was always happy and lighthearted, but underneath, the serious business of life and death was conducted in the most professional and caring way. She was a very sociable person and the staff laughed and chatted to her. Although always busy without exception the staff treated her as a person chatting to her, and making her last days incredibly comfortable and calm. I would like to thank each and every one concerned with my sister's care and if I could give more than ten out of ten I would. The staff treated my wife and myself in the most caring way too, cups of tea, kind words and laughter.
From the moment mum arrived, she was made to feel welcome by all the staff. She is very happy and well looked after at Ashley Intermediate Care Centre. I would recommend it to my friends and family.
