View Full Details of Longhope ManorMy parents-in-law were residents at the Manor for a period of 7 years. They had a fantastic double suite, where they were able to be together, the facilities including a spacious wet room, kitchenette, lounge, and dining area. My in-laws were very self-sufficient, however, there were plenty of activities on offer including trips out and residents are gently encouraged to join in. The staff organised cakes and gatherings for my in-law's 70th wedding anniversary and for father-in-law's 100th birthday. Both parents loved the beautiful garden, where father-in-law loved walking and mother-in-law enjoyed sitting in the sunshine and admiring the flowers. I cannot praise the staff at the Manor highly enough. They took every care with our parents, offering the right amount of support at the right time over the years, never pushy about it, and totally respectful of their wishes. We took the parents-in-law out on extended holidays and they were given such a genuine warm welcome on return that it felt like family.
My father enjoyed a weeks’ respite care at Longhope Manor. It was the first time we had experienced respite care, so it was a bit of a learning curve for us all! They were kind enough to let me know how he was whilst we were away on our holiday and welcome my sister to visit. The welcome from all of the staff was wonderful, the carers, cooks and management were all equally welcoming to us. My husband and I visited before taking my father for a visit and then for the stay. He had his own downstairs room that was comfortably furnished with lovely bed linen and home comforts including a television. There was an area in which he could make a drink and a fridge to store anything he wanted as well as a well-appointed wet room. My father enjoyed the food and sitting with the other residents in the dining room, which was very convivial over a glass of cider. The one thing that we would have liked was more activities, although they might have happened and he had forgotten. Overall, the standard of care was excellent, it was comfortable and the staff friendly. Thank you all.
My father enjoyed a 4-day stay at the Manor whilst I took my mother away for her birthday. He thoroughly enjoyed his stay and was treated with the utmost care and compassion. He was extremely complimentary about the food, the staff and the fact that everyone went the extra mile. He had a lovely apartment with self-contained outside space so was able to have time on his own, as well as socialising with other residents at the home when he wished. He has already said that he would like to go back again. My mother and I are so pleased that he has found somewhere that he can stay from time to time, feeling comfortable, safe and cared for. I would thoroughly recommend this care setting to anyone that has any care needs within their family - absolutely five star in every way.
I can't praise the staff enough. The home was always spotless, no smells at all like some homes smell of urine. The reception staff are always polite and friendly like the rest of the staff including management.
There are no negatives here. I found this gem for my stepmother who had a horrid experience elsewhere. She sadly was only at Longhope Manor for around 6 weeks but in that time, she was treated with care, dignity and compassion. The manager and all the staff were fantastic and bent over backwards to assist any aspect or issue that arose. I have never seen such a beautiful, clean, luxury residence and no smell of wee! Anyone who goes to Longhope Manor will be very privileged and in the best hands. Living away, I was regularly updated and all my requests and enquiries were dealt with exceptionally.
From the moment my aunt went to this home, she felt safe. She said the staff were so nice and didn't treat her like she was stupid. She got her dignity back. I have nothing but praise for the way they are looking after her and that goes for all my family. Thank you Longhope Manor, you lead the way. Thank you once again.
