View Full Details of Mill HouseVery friendly and caring staff. Very attentive and welcoming to residents and visitors. A lovely home. My friend is always well cared for and happy, I would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a friend or relative.
Nothing to fault, from the initial enquiry to visiting the home to the arrival, the staff were exceptionally helpful. My family member assures me he is happy and on every visit, it is obvious he is being well cared for.
As the daughter of a resident, it’s important that my mum has entertainment involved in her care. She has always been a big music lover and loved to be involved in activities. She has a very upbeat and caring nature this is very important to us as a family they have some great entertainers that come in and make it very special morning or afternoon.
Wonderful care home, lots of activities, Extremely happy with this care home. Pet-friendly and kind, very professional and friendly staff. Management team are there when you need them and I would highly recommend them.
My mother has been a resident at Mill House Care Home for several years. The staff are always so kind and supportive and the activities team are great. I always feel confident that Mum is looked after well and with care.
Our family are incredibly grateful for the excellent care and amazing kindness shown to Mum after her recent fall and hospital stay. The staff are a wonderful team and go the extra mile to make things work and make Mum as comfortable as possible. Thank you.
My mother has been a long term resident at Mill House due to her suffering from dementia. Since a fall causing a broken hip in November 2021, and a continued deterioration in her cognition her needs are now complex. I feel all the staff, whatever their role work hard to meet her needs and make her feel safe and content. Our concerns as relatives are also understood and questions are answered in both a friendly and professional way.
My wife has been in Millhouse for eleven months. She had suffered a stroke which left her with multiple needs. The support and care she has received has been outstanding. The nursing staff and carers have been very professional, whilst showing tenderness and care when carrying out their duties. We went to great lengths to choose a nursing home that would provide the best care that my wife needed. Also, the facilities that would provide the support for the family and the guidance that we needed. Needless to say, we have not been disappointed.
Always impressed with the cheerfulness of the staff, they are doing a difficult job. My mother is settled and happy. It's a great reassurance for me that her face lights up when either the nurses or carers come into her room. Mill House is a pleasure to visit. Welcoming and always clean.
My wife has been a resident at Mill House since December 2022. She has Alzheimer’s which has progressed to a severe level, requiring a high level of support to meet all basic needs. The staff here are friendly and professional and work extremely hard to ensure she is safe and content. Communication is good and I am well-informed about her health and well-being. Facilities are good and a range of activities are provided to keep residents stimulated.
My mum has been a resident of Mill House for almost a year; she is doing so well under the care and companionship of Mill House residents and staff. Life now is probably better for Mum than it has been for a few years, with on-tap entertainment, great food, a hairdresser etc, and some wonderful hairy visitors. It's always a pleasure for me to visit too, and know she is safe and sound.
I find the well-being lead very kind, always helpful in everything she does, talks to residents in a professional manner. Always making sure they are happy.
In my experience, Mill House and the wonderful staff have always shown great warmth and care to all the residents. They treat everyone with great respect and there is always a happy atmosphere when I visit. The activities help to keep the residents motivated and all seem settled and happy. My husband is always warmly welcomed.
Due to my mother's complex needs, following a stroke and a lengthy stay in hospital, we agonised over which nursing home would be best for her. The process was totally daunting and everywhere we looked, there always seemed to be a compromise and then I found Mill House. Right from the offset, I was assured that she would have the very best care, in the loveliest of settings and with lots of social activities going on too. It was arranged for us to meet the team, to allay any concerns and for the very first time, we felt confident that we had found the right setting for my mum. She arrived in September, and as expected, there were some initial settling issues, but how the staff dealt with them was reassuring to both mum and the family as a whole. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and the care and compassion that has been shown to mum from all of the staff, from the manager down, has been exemplary and professional at all times. Thank you does not seem sufficient!
My 93-year-old friend was extremely worried about going into a care home and was very concerned about the quality of food, as he loves to eat, his dignity during personal care because he is a very self-conscious private person and the way he would be spoken to and addressed by the staff. I'm happy to say none of those worries did he need to be concerned about. He's been looked after with absolute compassion and kindness, lovely choice of meals and he's treated with dignity at all times. I can't recommend Mill House or the staff and care team enough and my friend has flourished with the care he has received. He has a lovely room overlooking the fields and couldn't be happier.
I always love coming to visit Mum at Mill House. Everyone is always very kind and friendly. There is a sense of calmness that I notice, even when I know everyone must be very busy. Mum seems very content, and I know she is well cared for. She has pleasant and nutritious meals. I'm so glad she is here.
The care my aunt has received since emergency admission has been good. The staff have been kind and supportive throughout the pandemic. The medical plan of care has been difficult to access. There was confusion over the optician and no known dental care. We have requested physio and a better walking frame which would have helped to prevent falls. Unfortunately, the bathroom has not been kept as clean as one would expect. However, most importantly, my aunt is safe and happy.
My husband was admitted on end of life care with dementia over a year before he died in April 2022. He was there throughout the pandemic, under very difficult circumstances, and the staff were always kind, patient and understanding of both my husband's complex needs and my own emotional rollercoaster. They were always good at keeping me informed and enabling visits. There is very much a caring, family feel to the home. They supported me as well as my husband.
Although my husband was only in Mill House for three weeks before he passed away, his care and comfort was exceptional. He was clean and comfortable every time I visited, had been washed, changed, shaved, hair combed and looked immaculate. Their lifting equipment was comfortable, simple and easy. He settled quickly into his routine and seemed happy when I visited. His main carer was exceptional and knew so much about dementia and in particular Capgras Syndrome which my husband suffered from (and some doctors know nothing of). His main nurse was also wonderful and caring - the agency nurses were not quite so good though. I would often see his carer dancing with the other residents in the lounge, her attention to detail was phenomenal, and she really cared. She was with my husband when he died. One member of staff, in particular, on reception, was most helpful - all were extremely helpful - I was more than happy to leave my husband in their excellent care.
All the staff at Mill House are very professional and treat my father with great respect. The care and medical teams do a great job, providing for all his needs and are always cheerful when dealing with him. The entertainment team are always looking for ideas to stimulate him and do a great job in getting entertainment into the home which I know he really enjoys. I do feel that, due to covid and not being able to get maintenance staff into the home, his room and the lounge are starting to look a bit tired and need refreshing. I also feel that over the last 12 months the quality of food has fallen and the food doesn’t look as appetising given the fees he is paying.
Very friendly and caring staff. Very attentive and welcoming to residents and visitors. A lovely home. My friend is always well cared for and happy, I would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a friend or relative.
