View Full Details of Westgreen HouseMum spent her last two years at Westgreen. She received excellent care, kind, compassionate, responsive and professional. We will always appreciate the care mum received, from the whole team. They looked after us all during difficult times.
My father entered Westgreen House in March 2022 and unfortunately passed away in September 2022. All the time he was there, he was treated with the utmost respect and dignity by all the staff from admin through care workers to nurses. I was completely satisfied with the way he was treated and would recommend Westgreen House to anyone.
I placed my father in Westgreen House based on the recommendation of my friend. My first meeting with the manager was very reassuring that they could manage my father's needs. I was given a tour of the home, it was reassuring to see that significant improvements were being made to the facilities. I was offered a choice of rooms, all were freshly decorated. Levels of staffing were excellent, both care and nursing staff. Polite, attentive and aware of Dad's status. The nursing staff were exemplary, they were so on it. They were all friendly, helpful, informative and very skilled. Sadly my father passed away but during his three months with Westgreen House, he received excellent care. Thanks to all!
Caring and homely atmosphere. Staff like a family, attentive, caring and accommodating. Cannot praise their hard work enough! Feel totally at ease with my mums care.
The management and staff provide a safe, caring environment for Mum and the other residents. This has been particularly appreciated throughout the covid-19 crisis. I have full confidence in their commitment and ability to provide my mum with both physical and emotional support that she needs. The home and gardens are pleasant and welcoming (as are the staff). Mum (who was always a fussy eater) thoroughly enjoys the food, and the activities help to occupy her day.
She is well looked after and appears cared for. She is clean, fed and appears happy in her little bubble.
We have been very pleased with the care Mum has been given since she arrived in March. Unfortunately, she was settling in and even enjoying activities then Covid19 happened. Through no one's fault, she mainly stayed in her room. We have noticed she had deteriorated as she hadn't any visitors etc. So glad now we can come and visit.
Due to COVID, I have only just been able to visit. However, I have been kept informed by staff of the welfare of my friend. I also received pictures. Very considerate and kind staff.
Had to make a quick decision regarding nursing home care for Mum as hospital needed bed, and discharge her into the care sector Kingswood Lodge was recommended by a friend whose relative had been cared for previously. After our visit and meeting staff and getting a feel for the home, we were happy to place our Mother in their care. We have not regretted that decision.
Mother thinks the home is very good. Clean room and the food is very good. Staff and activities are excellent.
My sister has been here almost 3 years and every effort is made to make life as comfortable as possible. Staff, on the whole, are kind and supportive. There is a varied activities programme with something on each day. I also read poetry and play music at times and help. My sister is supported to undertake activities and helps to run something at weekends, so staff use her skills and she enjoys it.
My mother in law came to the home after strokes. Carers were extremely kind and professional.
My aunt has been a resident for nearly a year and I am extremely happy with the care and support she receives. The centre has such a family and friendly atmosphere with lots of activities to keep residents stimulated, involved and active. The staff feel like extended family who genuinely care and put the residents first. It gives me great reassurance that she is treated with dignity and is being supported to live a happy and actively rich life in a happy, friendly and very professional environment.
My mother had respite care at Kingswood Lodge Care Centre for 12 days and was well looked after and recovered well enough to go back home after a fall and stay in the hospital. The family were very pleased with the care and attention given to mum by the staff during her stay.
My mother-in-law was very happy for the last 2 and a half years of her life she spent at 'Kingswood Lodge Care Centre'. She had the care she needed and encouraged to take part in a varied programme of activities which she thoroughly enjoyed. At the same time she was able to retain as much independence as possible, which was important to her. The staff have been caring and friendly at all times - both to mum and to us.
Overall, extremely well run, largely due to Deputy Manager. For most of the past year she has had to cover for absent or non existent managers. This has restricted the time she has been able to devote to individual patients. Activities, excellent due to the staff who provide a wide range and personally encourage residents to take part. Nursing care excellent though as busy on admin numbers of agency nurses have to fill in, spoiling the continuity of care. Food adequate and well cooked, rather old fashioned and stodgy to suit most residents, too many carbohydrates for people unable to exercise. Cost has to be kept down to meet council grants, so staff numbers just sufficient.
I can thoroughly recommend this home. The staff are always very cheerful and caring. My husband is very happy and has no complaints whosoever. The lounge is so comfortable with a television and entertainment. Most people also have a television in their rooms including my husband. A list of activities are posted on notice boards every week showing day to day of activities throughout the week. Yes, I agree this is a really lovely nursing home. No complaints at all.
Looked after well. Foods good, staff obliging and satisfactory. Nice room with a view and nice and warm. Activities interesting.
