View Full Details of Richmond Villages PainswickMy mother was transferred to the care home due to illness and mobility issues in April/May 2024. The care she receives is of a high quality with much patience and kindness shown and special attention made to certain wishes. Her health is regularly monitored by qualified nurses, actions are taken where necessary, medicines are overseen and issued as required. It is of much comfort that we know she is being looked after professionally in a gentle and understanding way. Unfortunately she does struggle with some of the meal options, she is frequently disappointed with the lack of taste, poor variety and the quality, especially in regard to green vegetables.
My mother has been in the care home for almost a year. She is settled and has made friends. The staff are caring, kind, very helpful and friendly. They respond well to her medical and physical needs. Mum makes use of the facilities and activities at Richmond Villages Painswick. She has joined the choir and enjoys the organised events. A positive experience for us all.
My partner has been in RV Care Home in Painswick for 2 years now. It is an excellent facility with interesting and positive entertainment programmes. All the staff are helpful and pleasant and react to my partner who has Alzheimer's with respect and care. The restaurant facilities are excellent. The spa area with pool etc, gym and hairdressing is amazing. My partner is unable to partake in some of these activities, due to his Alzheimer's, but he does use the hairdresser's which is extremely useful. Myself and his children feel he is in the best home possible in this area and we are very happy with all aspects of his care here.
My mother originally stayed at Painswick as a respite on a numerous occasions and then became a resident in the care home. The care and support that my mother received were excellent, her room was lovely and she was happy there. As my mother became unwell and reached end-of-life care, the staff were so caring and supportive to me, as her daughter, and to my mother. Some staff members became so special to us both with their care and support in the last few days and afterwards as well, offering continuing support.
The love and care our mum received during her three years at Richmond was outstanding. The comfort of knowing she was happy, safe and well looked after, enjoying her millionaire shortcake, the weekly activities, her two fingers of tuna sandwiches, warmed by conversation and laughter is priceless. The kindness shown to the family during the final days helped to make a difficult journey easier and more dignified. Our grateful thanks.
The experience of the resident was outstanding, especially the manager. She is so friendly but very professional in everything she does. Also, the carers are very caring and professional. I would recommend your care home to everyone. My friend had a wonderful experience and is very happy.
My mother was recently taken ill over a weekend. This clearly resulted in a rapid ramping up of care and included managing to get a visit from the out-of-hours doctors. The staff have worked really hard at all times. I can't praise them enough for the kind and professional way they have helped my mum. I have no doubt if she was still trying to get by on her own things would have ended very differently.
The care home facilities at Richmond Village, Painswick are excellent. The staff are all friendly yet professional. I feel my mother is treated with respect and the staff have got to know her well and her personality and respond to her sense of humour. When she has been out with us for the day, they are like a comforting hug coming back, appreciating she's tired, bringing tea and sandwiches to her room. It's the little things which make a difference.
Having come here after injuring my hip and fracturing my femur when all movement was difficult and painful. I am so grateful for the kindness and help I have received here from everyone who has dealt with me to become far more mobile since coming here. I would also like to mention a particular who has sorted out my medication and given me helpful advice. Many thanks to everyone who has looked after me. I would like to say how much I have enjoyed the activities.
Both my mother and father were cared for in the care home at Richmond Village at the end of their lives. My mother most recently. The medical oversight and overall care that they both received was exceptional and ultra-professional. We could not have wished for better care for them. Everyone, from the leadership to the young cleaners, genuinely cared about Mum as she endured a protracted end to her life with dignity and in comfort. They have my thanks and highest recommendation.
Painswick Care Home have offered an exceptional service. My father went in fairly able, and they gave him his freedom and our confidence he was being well cared for. He went on regular trips which he enjoyed as well as the activities and the food. As his mental and physical health deteriorated they unobtrusively supported him and cared for him. Later, as he reached end of life, they provided dignity and expert care to ensure he was safe and comfortable. Without exception, the staff were professional, caring and very kind to him and his family. Cannot recommend them highly enough. And am so grateful for what they gave my father, he was in the best place possible for a difficult end of life.
After my Mother fell, in her independent living apartment at Richmond Villages, that fractured her hip, she required time in the care home, within the development, to recover, after hospital treatment. This was the first time I had directly been in contact with the care sector and was unsure what to expect. Having been involved in numerous care homes over 35 years as a Landscape Architect dealing with outside spaces, I had seen many care homes, some of which were challenging, to say the least. Richmond Painswick is a 5-star plus. However, to my relief, no such worries were needed. Whilst my mum was confused by her experience, the care, the kindness and the high standard of nursing were highly evident. The head of the department took us under her wing and very quickly put my and my wife's concerns at rest. The level of communication is outstanding. I cannot recommend this place more highly to anyone, whose close relative needs that bit of extra care in their life.
Having been widowed in November last year Richmond has been my saving grace. Everyone here has been kind, caring and sensible in their approach. The care home was the right place to be initially, and then in July, my transfer to an assisted living apartment made my life perfect. My children were right!
Great care was taken in helping my husband to settle and gradually encouraging him to participate in group activities. He has settled well and is enjoying the activities. He is clearly both well and happily cared for as an individual. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming whenever visiting and queries or comments are always acceptable.
My mother has been in the care home following a fall in May 2022. She has received appropriate care throughout the year until the present time when she is nearing the end of her life. I believe that my mother would not have lived as long if she had not been in such a caring environment.
The Richmond is a beautiful setting with staffing to back this up. My father's life was undoubtedly extended by at least two years by the care he received. He was treated with respect, kindness, dignity and indeed affection. His stay despite the covid pandemic at the beginning gave him at least twelve months of an Indian summer of pleasure and worthwhile activities which he thoroughly enjoyed before increasing frailty intervened. He was kept clean, comfortable and peaceful throughout his lengthy decline to death. The staff were always friendly and open to us when visiting and the care home felt like a genuine home, not an institution.
I spent two weeks having respite at Painswick care home from 25th July until 8th August. I have nothing but praise for all the carers and nursing staff with whom I came into contact. I was able to go out each day to spend time with my son and his family and he returned me to the care home each evening. The arrangement worked out perfectly and I hope to repeat this in future.
We are so thankful for what Richmond have done for my mother at such short notice. The staff are courteous, helpful and posses huge amounts of patience and humour. It was the perfect tonic that my mother needed after breaking her hip and being isolated in hospital with covid. Her room was beautiful, airy and clean and all her needs were exceptionally well catered for. The location is perfect, beautiful and the grounds very well maintained. It makes for the perfect place to re-cuperate. My mother's time in hospital was traumatic. Not only was she admitted with a broken hip but she also tested positive for covid meaning isolation with no access to family or friends. Added to that was the operation to pin her hip and it create the perfect concoction for a very traumatic experience. Arriving at Richmond was a huge relief for all of us, knowing she would be well cared for and could begin her recuperation. Your staff was amazing. We cannot thank you all enough.
My very elderly mother moved to Meadow View with pneumonia which she contracted after having a fall at home. She was on oxygen and a drip being attended to by the NHS Rapid Response team who continued to attend her in the home working closely with the Nursing and Care Staff. After 4 weeks in bed and at her great age we wondered if she would be able to sit up again let alone walk. Four months later my mother is managing to get herself from a chair to a wheelchair and to walk a few steps. Moving into a care setting has been and still is a real shock for her having been a very independent lady all her life. The sensitivity and kindness shown by the staff have been outstanding. Her own determination has been a major factor in enabling her to return to the level of mobility she is now at but alongside this has been the excellent care and facilitation by the staff in supporting and encouraging her in her desire to get better and stronger at every step. Thank you!
My close friend who was severely disabled with multiple sclerosis first stayed at Painswick for respite care after a hospital admission and loved the people and the care and kindness she encountered there. When it became too difficult for her to continue to live independently in her own home she chose to come to live at Painswick - nowhere else would do. Leaving her home was an extremely difficult decision to make. The Clinical and Care Team from Painswick came to visit her at her house to gain a clear idea of her needs and expectations, and she also visited Painswick again too to choose her room. A great deal of care was taken to make her feel 'at home' once she moved in. Her own paintings and furniture came too, and even some of her garden potted plants were placed outside the french doors to her room. The staff, many of whom she knew were consistently welcoming and sensitive to her needs.
