View Full Details of Chestnut CourtI come and today my sister seems in a very good mood and happy. Nice place to come and visit. We are always asked if we would like a drink and a piece of cake.
I come to see my sister very often and she is very happy here. Nice and clean. She said that the food is good.
One of the most upsetting, stressful, emotional decisions in life is having to make the decision to put a loved one into care. The main reason I picked Chestnut Court, Glos, for my dear husband was because of the lovely, friendly, homely, happy atmosphere that came across for reception staff, carers, and nurses. He was surprisingly settled very quickly. The carers, nurses, and lead nurses at Willow Household are absolutely brilliant and exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble and I personally understand fully, how difficult it can be when dealing with dementia and personality disorders. They have been such a wonderful support to my husband, myself and my family. I cannot thank them enough.
Great care home, all the staff put in 100% while looking after my wife. While she was in your home I could and would not fault them at all. The last weeks were hard for my wife and all the staff did all that they could for her.
Lovely setting, and a lovely stay. Nan was well looked after and very loved and cared for. The staff went above and beyond when Nan was at the end of her life. Thank you, we appreciate everything. We will always be grateful.
Couldn't of wished for better care and attention for my Mum. The staffing was excellent and caring. We appreciate everything you have done for Mum. Excellent, 5 stars.
My Father settled in quickly at Chestnut Court Residential unit (Ash) mainly due to the relaxed atmosphere, pleasant surroundings, and the friendliness and professionalism of the carers, following advice from the care team my Father was moved to the Dementia Unit (Maple), this proved to be a good move as he started joining in the activities and became more content. I would like to thank all the staff (carers and admin) at Chestnut Court my sincere thanks for all their help and understanding.
During the time my Father-in-law was a resident at Chestnut Court, he was very well cared for by all members of staff. It could have been the carers, domestics, or the activities coordinators who would engage with him, be it a wave, a chat, or just a smile which made him feel safe and at home. Thank you, everyone at Chestnut Court!
All staff were brilliant, could not have asked for better care that my Father in law received, could not have asked for more. Including reception staff.
All the staff are caring and have done an excellent job looking after Dad.
Your staff are amazing and cared for Dad with professionalism and care, making his stay a fantastic experience for him.
Chestnut Court is a very happy place to be. I have to say, I'm truly thankful to be here.
Excellent establishment, this installs confidence in the care system. The staff were always kind and helpful with a great sense of humour and patience. The whole place is spotless and well-run. Special thanks to the two ladies who were really helpful and couldn't do enough for my Mum. Thank you all so much!
Chestnut Court is a fantastic care home where the resident's happiness and well-being are always put first. Every member of staff is always happy to help and care deeply for every resident and their families. The standard of care my Grandfather receives is more than we could have hoped for. We feel happy knowing he is being looked after with such a high standard of care.
Mum has settled in really well due to the combination of a bright, sunny and clean room, excellent food, ability to come out with family and friends unrestricted, but most of all due to the genuine, outstanding care shown to her at all times, making her feel so special, giving the whole family peace of mind.
My Mum has been at Chestnut Court for 6 weeks. First as a patient in the nursing unit and then as a resident. She has received exemplary care from both nursing and care staff. She has now settled into the residential unit, with bits and pieces from home to help her settle in. As a family, we have felt welcomed and supported by staff, particularly as we have negotiated the complexities of social care and financial assessments. When Mum was very poorly a few days ago paramedics were called promptly and I was contacted straight away. After a day in A&E Mum was very happy to come back 'home' to Chestnut Court and I think that says it all!
The all round care is excellent, the food is of good quality, well cooked and presented, I have a meal with my wife at least three times a week, and it is very good. The staff are very understanding and very caring, and that goes for the office staff as well. The home is very clean and you are made very welcome. Well done.
My husband has been in Chestnut Court for just over a year and has had excellent care from all the staff. The carers handle difficult situations with patience and humour and my husband responds positively to both. I would definitely recommend this home as a very loving and caring home - not only to the residents but to their families also.
My mum has been a resident for about two years and, in overall terms, she is happy and well looked after. It is evident that the pandemic has had an impact on the home and that they have had staffing difficulties in the past but it seems that the worst of these things is now behind them. The staff (including catering, cleaning, activity and care staff) seem to be a thoroughly dedicated group of people who are committed to the care and well-being of the residents. They are all great! Management systems do not always work - external appointments are not always recorded, events and needs not always passed on from shift to shift, advice from the district nurse is not always followed up. There is also a challenge when it comes to providing care which sits on the borderline between medical and personal care which has resulted in Mum not getting some of the care she needs. The rooms are starting to look a little frayed around the edges.
I think Chestnut Court Care Home is a huge improvement compared to the previous care home my brother was formally a resident. The staff are very caring and seem to spend lots of time with the residents. Two members of staff are especially friendly and nothing seems to be too much bother for them. I think this care home, as a whole, is very clean and well-maintained. My brother's room is spotless like you would expect if you were staying in a hotel. I would certainly rate Chestnut Court as excellent.
