View Full Details of Frethey HouseStaff welcoming and my auntie seems very happy and comfortable. Thank you for looking after her so well. Some of the questions we haven't been here to be able to answer.
In the final days of my mother-in-law's life, the staff at Frethey House were tremendous. Everyone was empathetic, considerate and kind. Their care for my mother-in-law was outstanding. From the cleaning team, admin, support staff and nurses to the manager - they did their part to make a tough time manageable. Thank you all for your unwavering support.
Initially placed for respite care, Dad then required end-of-life care. The home were extremely accommodating and he was able to get as comfortable as possible for his final days. All the staff were extremely caring and professional and the end of life was handled with the utmost sensitivity.
Lovely staff. Very friendly place that puts patients at the centre of everything they do. The manager could not have been more helpful. I hope in the future that my mum can move here when she has a need for more intensive care.
From the day I went to view Frethey House as a possible place for my dad, to receive end-of-life care, I cannot fault anything. The staff are all wonderful and can't do enough to look after dad and support us as a family, especially my mum, who has dementia. In fact, we have been so impressed mum is going there for 2 weeks respite while we go away and she is really looking forward to her holiday. All the staff always greet us warmly with a smile and I can see and hear them interacting with other residents in a compassionate, and kind manner. I was so worried about what to expect in regards to the care dad might receive, as his time in hospital before going to Frethey was awful, and I had heard mixed reviews about care homes. But I feel really relieved and reassured, to know that dad is in a safe place where all his needs are being met to a high standard.
Always felt the management and support staff really cared for all the patients in the home. Mum was impressed with the meals. The home was always clean, and it was so lovely to see all staff smiling. 5 stars would be my assessment.
My partner and I have been together for 20 years so it was a big decision to get him into a care home. I looked at 6 homes. When I made an appointment to visit Frethey, I was greeted by the manager with a smile on her face. I met with staff and maintenance who greeted us like friends. I was made to feel welcome and this is how I feel every time I come to the home. The care staff and management are all excellent. I have made the right choice. The staff all know my name.
My wife has been a resident for nearly six years and I do not have any complaints. The staff do a very hard job but are always attentive and caring.
Divided into 3 parts: 1. Front of House - The Manager and her Assistants are excellent. 2. Nursing Staff - I am most impressed by the team for their day and night care. 2. The carers - All first class - the new team recruited are first class as good as their long-term colleagues.
All the staff are friendly and helpful to the visitors and are all very caring towards the residents. My mum seems happy at Frethey and always joins in with the activities. Her health has definitely improved since she has been at Frethey, and this can only be because of the care that she gets there. I am not able to see Mum very often, but I am happy knowing that she has the care that she gets and that she is safe and happy.
My husband has only been in Frethey House for a short time, but his care has been excellent, and he is settled in well and seems very relaxed and happy! He was moved from another care provider as he was very unhappy there and seems to have settled in very well. Many thanks to all concerned from both of us!
My mum became a resident at Frethey House in April 2022, at 95 years old, having never wanted to go into a home. She has settled incredibly well under the circumstances and always comments how lovely the staff are towards her. Unfortunately, due to having had shingles prior to moving into the home, she isn't up to leaving her room, a thing I am keen to encourage in time. Her sight, and hearing have also taken their toll, but her mind is still very much with us. The staff are always pleasant when we visit and we see them more as friends. They try their very best to cater for her needs and help us with any questions. I am impressed that they keep me informed of any changes that I need to be made aware of, and feel mum is in capable hands. As we are not local we appreciate any updates and being able to visit now without an appointment. A lovely house and grounds, with friendly approachable staff - couldn't ask for more!
This home was the only one we could find where they could be together, as one needs nursing care and the other just care, they have rooms opposite each other. One has been in two previous homes before moving here to be together and states that this is the best by a long way. I find the staff outstanding as they keep me up to date about their health, any issues, and are always willing to help. Including cancelling their credit card when they were tricked into revealing their details. Everything I have asked for has been no problem. They even baked a cake and put up decorations for their 72nd wedding anniversary. This really made their day and were both very happy. I feel very relaxed knowing they are being looked after and not having to worry. My father went in for a week to see if he liked it and did not want to leave, think this sums everything up.
My Dad moved into Frethey House only five weeks ago and already is so settled and happy. The staff are so attentive and kind and made him feel so at home. He looks so much better it's all the good food he is having and the attention. Thank you all
Mum has been a resident of Frethey House since July 2019 relocating from Glasgow to be closer to family. From her warm welcome on day one has regarded the staff at Frethey part of her extended family and has been consistently positive about her move there which is a testament in itself. We have always found the staff to be professional, responsive, approachable and welcoming despite changes in management and staff which can be an unsettling time for everyone. They always take time to communicate concerns they may have regarding any changes in Mums health and equally will investigate and respond to any concerns regarding Mum’s health that we have had as a family. Inability to visit at various points throughout the pandemic was a frustrating time for us but I fully believe the staff placed the resident's well-being at the forefront of decisions made which is as it should be. Mum is well cared for happy, content and positive at her home in Frethey House which is all we can ask.
Excellent care. Mum looks beautifully washed and dressed. Nails are short and clean. Staff go the extra mile, so caring to her and kind. Very grateful to all.
Even though my mum was only at Frethey House for three months, she received more kind care than she received in eighteen months at another care home. Sadly, Covid did us no favours. The staff and manager at Frethey House are wonderful! Sadly, mum rarely took part in any activities - her own choice.
Sadly, my father had a very unhappy respite stay at Frethey House, and, whilst this was certainly partly due to his state of health at the time, there were several issues and concerns which I raised with the company subsequently. In spite of assurances to the contrary, I have not received a reply (other than acknowledgment of receipt) to my emails. It is disappointing, to say the least, and does not reflect well on the company's mission statement or their alleged ethos of care.
The home has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and the staff are always welcoming and greet me with a smile. At Christmas time we were invited to join in and given a three-course meal and a glass of wine. Because the resident was unable to get up - a table was laid up in her room, complete with Christmas crackers.
The staff are always very cheerful and helpful at whatever time of day I visit. The home is always very clean with no nasty smells.
