The staff are amazing, kind and considerate, chatty and always helps when asked. Clean and tidy home. Laundry good, mum always looks clean and tidy. I feel mum is safe here and that's very important to us as a family. The food is very good, portions served are perfect for mum. Entertainment good.
Mum has only been at Horton Cross for two weeks. The staff are all very welcoming and hard working. The staff have been amazing and made sure us and mum are happy. The entertainment team leader is amazing too, she works so hard, I notice doing more jobs than just entertainment. So far all is going well in the home. It's difficult for us to except mum need this care!
Visited my mum on 19th November. Made very welcome by everyone and had an informative talk of future plans for mum. Mum was in the lounge area dressed, warm and contented. While there, she was asked what she would like for lunch. Very attentive staff.
Home is clean, tidy and staff welcoming. Resident's room is clean and calm. Resident is regularly taken out of their room into the pleasant day room for lunch time. Nursing staff could have been more proactive in obtaining GP intervention when resident went without an active prescribed treatment for psoriasis in early December. The psoriasis was causing itching and discomfort.
My mum is very happy at Horton Cross Nursing Home. She has been here for 3 years and has a lovely room with a view of the garden. She loves the activities daily and enjoys particularly the musical ones, quizzes and baking. The carers know both mum and family well and are welcoming, fun and work together as a team. From the management to the domestic staff, mum loves the choices for meals that are offered, as well as snacks! A warm, cosy environment, which has recently been updated into a bright, freshly decorated place with new fixtures and fittings.
My relative has been living at Horton Cross Nursing Home for over 3 years and would not want to be anywhere else! Well cared for with regular reviews and meetings with relatives. The home offers a welcoming and very caring environment for our relative and family when visiting. The food is prepared well and provided in a tasty and appropriate way for her dietary needs. The management are experienced in all areas, the home has recently gone through extensive changes with redecoration, fixtures and fittings and training for staff.
Service user was distressed on my arrival, slumped in a chair unable to move as the chair was reclined. Uncomfortable and in pain. I pressed the button for help. After 20 minutes had to go and find staff. No staff at all on the 2nd floor found someone who then took 10 minutes to attend service user who was in tears. If I hadn't visited she could have been left for much longer. No manager to talk to onsite.
Everybody is pleasant and kind.
On the whole, the care is very good. The care staff are kind. Night care staff are noisy which can be disruptive to sleep. Would like Dad to have a shower/bath more often. He says people are constantly coming in and out when he's in the shower which he does not like. All staff are friendly and helpful.
The care home is clean and warm. Services are exceptional but the food is often cold or overcooked. The staff are fine.
There has been a marked improvement to the services at Horton Cross since having been taken over by the new manager in February this year. My mum is very well cared for and enjoys all the activities now available. The staff keep me well informed of any changes to her care and well-being.
My aunt has been at Horton Cross since May this year. I have been impressed by how well she has been supported to settle in. From the first days all staff greeted her by name and she has been shown respect, kindness and a ready responsiveness to her needs which she can't always articulate herself. When I raise issues I often find they are already being addressed. I am regularly contacted by the nursing staff as part of their review of my aunt's care plan and invited to raise concerns. It is always a pleasure to walk into the home. Everyone is so friendly and kind and I feel part of a community that is working together to support and care for my aunt.
Have always found Horton Cross to be looking after my relative very well, never had any complaints, her room is always kept clean and tidy and the staff are always helpful and cheery. Would definitely recommend it to others.
Staff are first class.
Perfect room for my friend. Light and airy. Staff always helpful, always listen. Management is approachable and helpful. Overall excellent, with no complaints at all.
My father-in-law has been at Horton Cross for over a year now and has always received very good care. If he's ever had to be admitted to hospital I have always been notified straight away and given every detail about what happened and what the staff had done. The home itself is always very clean and tidy and has recently had some upgrades. All staff seem very nice and attentive. If there's ever any medical issues or updates on health, someone always rings me to explain everything in full.
Care home always clean and tidy. Staff friendly and interested. If I raise concerns they are looked into at once. I feel the home works with me in the care of my mother.
I am always impressed by the professionalism, caring and friendly nature of the staff. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. The residents are treated with dignity and empathy.
All the staff were very kind and caring to my mother who was at the home for a year. We're very grateful for all the care and attention and want to thank everyone for everything they do to make my mothers stay as comfortable as possible.
My mum was a resident of Horton Cross from the end of February 2020 until 1st June 2021. During her entire time at Horton Cross, both she and us as a family were met with nothing but love, care, kindness and endless patience from all the staff. It is impossible to name all the staff who cared for mum, but thanks must go to the staff and the nurses, who I know were instrumental in ensuring mum was comfortable and happy. Also thanks to the Manager and Deputy. If Mum became poorly, I was notified immediately and medication was obtained and given within a few hours, and when she suddenly took a turn for the worse, we were able to spend her final few hours with her, the staff were kindness itself. If you have a relative or friend who needs the sort of love and care you would wish for yourself, send them to Horton Cross to be looked after by the best bunch of angels you could wish to meet.
