View Full Details of Barchester Manor Care HomeMy husband was very happy here and sorry to leave. The staff are wonderful.
My dad moved into The Manor in August 2023. He was there until his death early February 2025. The care he received was excellent, as was the communication I received from the nursing staff regarding my dad. The respect shown to Dad as he was ill + after his death was wonderful - thank you. The unit manager was really helpful + caring. A huge thank you to all staff involved in his care.
Hi All My wife & I just want to say A BIG THANK YOU, for the wonderful care my father-in-law received in his 18 months at The Manor, until his death yesterday, From the ease and lovely welcome when he first moved into the Manor in Aug 23 The wonderful care by ALL Staff at The Manor All the correspondence & queries that were dealt with so professionally by the unit manager All the wonderful care he received by the Carers, Nurses, Auxiliary staff etc All the wonderful support and care he received from the local GP. For everything we are TRULLY THANKFUL. I'm sure sometimes you just "crack on" with the job, but never forget, how truly remarkable you are, in what you give to individuals and society as a whole in your professional roles. THANK YOU! Regards
After a very serious stroke 2 and a half years ago, my husband was diagnosed as needing 24 hour nursing care. The managers at the Manor Gate Care Home, Bishops Hall were extremely kind and helpful when my daughter and I visited her to ask for a room for him. He lived there until January this year when he sadly passed away. While there he considered it as his home. His room was spacious, all of the staff there were very kind, friendly and helpful to all the residents and cheerful. They were most considerate to myself and our two daughters. He loved the meals, as did we all, and thought everything tasted homemade. The Manor was always warm and cozy. All the staff were extremely cheerful, friendly and helpful. He was always clean and tidy. We would recommend this home to anyone, and often do.
Excellent food and helpers and nurses.
I have been at Barchester The Manor Care Home for five years now. I was in another care home but I was not making progress with my mobility and my husband had to return to his work in Cyprus. So my family brought me to The Manor because of the physio care and physiotherapist on site Monday to Fridays. I am still doing physiotherapy every day (I am confined to a wheelchair. I have had two strokes and need a hoist to get in and out of bed to my chair). The carers here are very good to me, only them or me often sharing a conversation. The provision of daily activities is excellent and especially, for someone like me with and interest in music and arts and crafts. I am blessed by children (grown up, over 40 years) living nearby.
I enjoy living here and everyone is very helpful.
Clean, spacious, homely spaces. Residents are treated individually and good relationships with all staff adopted. Food is delicious and hydration facilities available. The general manager is hard-working, professional, friendly, positive and exceptionally kind. Overall, wonderful home.
We cannot thank the caring staff enough for taking great care of our mum. Not only do they provide care for the residents but provide care and support for the family which has been greatly appreciated. Thank you.
The home is ever so caring for Mum, despite Mum sometimes being a difficult character, the team work with Mum in a kind and understanding way to ensure all her needs are met. The home is also clean and well-kept and doesn't have that stereotypical care home smell! Mum is as happy as she can be and we feel that she is safe and well looked after.
Really appreciate the hard work and dedication shown by the staff towards my aunt on Memory Lane. Thanks to each and every one of you.
From the first time I entered Barchester The Manor Care Home to look around, I was struck by the warmth and friendliness of the staff - from the cleaners upwards. Even when they were obviously busy, the staff still made the time to chat with the residents, their families and visitors. Nothing is too much - super attitude. Now that both Mum and Dad have been in full-time residence there for a few months, nothing has changed - if anything, it's even better, as the staff now know their characters and regularly bring out their naughty sides! Mum and Dad have got to know and like most of the ground floor staff - it's a lovely, welcoming community that has been able to deal with my parents differing physical and mental needs. They always feared being separated and this is what stopped them from going into a residential facility months ago! My brother and I can now relax, for the first time in months, knowing that they are safe, happy and well cared for. Thank you to all of the staff.
When I arrived I was unable to walk, after my stay, I was able to travel home. I cannot praise too highly the physiotherapy I received; care and competence of the first order. The nursing staff were uniformly kind and competent. The meals provided the best institutional food I have ever eaten outside an RAF canteen. I would thoroughly recommend Barchester The Manor Care Home in all respects.
Barchester The Manor Care Home is located at a secured area of the Town and nearness to the main Hospital facility for both emergency and medical checks up purposes. The Manor Nursing Home is responsive and have dedicated staff.
Although my dad only spent a few days in the home before he passed away, the care and support he received was outstanding. This allowed him to spend his last few days in peace and comfort, and it was appropriate that he passed peacefully in his sleep. The team in the home were also brilliant in their interaction with family and friends who visited. Always friendly, caring and with a smile when appropriate. Thank you, everyone.
I came into Barchester The Manor Care Home for a weeks respite after helping to care for my husband for 18 months after a stroke. Coming into The Manor meant I was looked after but could still visit my husband every day. The care and experience I had was excellent. I had dinner, bed and breakfast
My mum moved to Barchester The Manor Care Home in August of this year. From the moment she arrived, she received outstanding care and was treated with kindness and respect by all the staff who could not do enough for her. They did everything to make her last weeks happy and contented, just as if she had still been in her own home. The Manor is special and I cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone considering care for their loved one.
My aunt moved into The Manor in March of this year. Sadly, she was only there for about three months before she died, but in this time received outstanding care in every way. All staff were kind and considerate, ensuring that she settled into her new home well. In addition to excellent nursing care all the staff carried out their roles to a high standard. They gave her time, which is so very important. Staff tailored some activities to my aunt's interests, something she appreicated. The management team developed a good relationship with myself and family members, kept us informed, listed and gave sound advice.
My husband spent two and a half years here and was very well looked after by the very caring carers and nursing staff. Occasionally the night nurses (usually agency) were not so caring.
Following a fall and broken hip, I stayed at The Manor for two and a half weeks. My family and I have really appreciated the wonderful care and service shown by all staff in all departments. Everyone was kind, and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Professionalism with a human face! Thank you so much.
