View Full Details of The Wells Nursing HomeThe staff are incredible. Kind and totally patient-focused. They treat everyone with dignity and respect. The families of residents are also well respected and included.
A small caring community. Staff are friendly and professional. There have been several occasions when the lift has broken, so they have brought my sister down to the ground floor. Always staff around to discuss any needs.
My wife has been dumped in there against her and my will. She has to sit in a wheelchair and not move, she cannot straighten her legs and does not get any leg exercise or massage. She is not allowed to use her reclining chair or massage cushion. It is extremely painful for me to see her in this condition. I am not allowed to see if she has eaten any dinner or push her out in the garden. She is handled by men who cannot speak English. Her central heating is not working, she should be kept warm.
I couldn't be happier that we picked The Wells Nursing Home for my nan in her last few months of life. They have been kind, caring and attentive and everyone there feels like extended family. Honestly cannot thank everyone enough.
Very satisfied.
My mum has been at The Wells nursing home for over two months and I can only say how happy my family is that we chose the Wells. Both clinical leads are amazing! My mum has received such an excellent standard of care. In fact, all the staff are excellent at The Wells. Respectful, polite, kind and caring. I literally can't recommend the wells enough.
I have checked each part of the care plan with the nurse in charge and have found it very satisfactory. I have found this nursing home to be rather pleasant and friendly. My family and I have always been made welcome on our visits at whatever time we arrive. My mother has not always been an easy person to care for especially when being cared for in her own home - playing carers up, but here she has settled down nicely with good team spirit from the carers, whom we have found exceptionally good and helping her to eat when not inclined. My mother seems to love the spirit of activity surrounding her especially as she does not want to leave her bed. We have also found the Grounds and Gardens peaceful here, a pleasant place for wheelchair users with easy access.
My mother-in-law has been a resident here for over 12 months after a fall on which she fractured her pelvis. Since day 1 the staff have been kind, friendly and professional. They have always kept me up to date with any changes in her condition and care.
The lovely staff and residents have been brilliant with my mum. They have made Mum feel like part of the family even though she only stays for a short respite. It has put my mind at rest that she is getting well looked after which allows me to have a much needed break. The home offers plenty of activities from gardening, painting, singing and day trips. The Wells Nursing Home is without a doubt the best in the area to look after your loved ones.
My husband was discharged from hospital after several days delay. The nursing home prepared a room and were very patient and reassuring, making good contact with the hospital regarding needs. On his arrival, he was made clean and comfortable and well-settled. The following day it became obvious that he was developing a chest infection from the hospital. He was kept under observation and on the third day, the duty manager and I decided to call an ambulance. All staff very supportive and helpful as he was readmitted and has remained so since my husband's hospital-acquired pneumonia and death.
My 98-year-old mother suffered a chest infection and was unable to remain at her home. Nursing care was something we had never considered and as a family we were anxious but from our first contact with Wells Nursing Home, staff at all levels went out of their way to put our mind at rest that Mum would be in good hands and well looked after. I was convinced Mum would not settle but due to the advice given to us as a family and the expertise of staff she has settled well and although very frail is content and calm. All staff are so welcoming when we visit but the most important thing is that Mum is well looked after, calm and content. It is so comforting to know she is so well looked after.
A wonderful caring experience under my health situation. Staff are kind and understanding while being attentive. My room is kept clean and have made it my own which helps me with the ambience providing a calming effect. The social areas are a joy to behold. The gardens give me much upliftment.
Having just gone through the traumatic loss of a very dear friend who was a resident at Henton. Both my wife and myself, wish to thank all staff for their kindness and professionalism. The senior nurse showed dedication of a quality rarely seen these days. We would have no hesitation in recommending this nursing home.
Since August 2022 when my mum took up residence at the nursing home until the present time we have always found the care and facilities excellent. The manager and the care team are extremely professional and approachable. My mum enjoys the home cooked food. She finds it tasty and adequate. I would recommend Well Nursing Home to anyone needing a nursing home.
My mum was admitted into The Wells Care Home in September following a lengthy stay in Hospital as we were unable to care for her at home. Mum initially hated being placed in the home and became somewhat vocal and challenging but gradually with the care and compassion of the manager and staff she has started to adjust to her new surroundings. Each time we visit the staff we encounter are friendly and helpful and they always let us know how Mum is doing. My mum tells us that the staff always wave and speak to her as they pass her room door which she enjoys.
The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and pleasant. The room perhaps needs redecorating and updating. Carpets and chairs need cleaning. Televisions need updating.
On the whole, my stay here which began in July 2022 has not been without incident. At first I was I was unable to cope with the very poor standard of care, this has improved, and with the right individuals is now an acceptable standard. The food has always been a good standard coming from a foodie that's a great comment. The home is kept averagely clean. They have a high dependency on agency staff, they are much less able and paid more, not a recipe for harmony. The bathing facilities are very poor, I await my first bath and proper shower. The first floor is accessed by two staircases and a lift. The lift has been broken for 8 weeks. All 1st-floor residents are trapped with no sign of it being sorted.
We have been pleased with the overall care. Although at times some care needs have been overlooked due to instructions not being received by nursing staff or just not completed.
I would like to congratulate the manager and all the staff who were, at all times, very kind, caring and professional with my mother who is 102 years old. Mum stayed for three weeks respite. We paid extra for a newly refurbished, upper ensuite room which, although lovely, bright and clean, I don't think attention had been given to the appropriate easy chair, which was not suitable for the nursing home, or bedside light. Lovely ensuite.
My mother was transferred from hospital directly to The Wells Nursing Home. Approximately a couple of weeks later, the difference in her due to the care and nursing she received at the home was amazing. The care and nursing staff here have done their utmost to make my mum comfortable and have catered for her needs entirely. She is very relaxed and comfortable with all the staff that attend to her and I have no concerns or worries for her safety when being cared for by this team. The administration and management staff I have to say also go the extra mile with the residents. They are always willing to chat and, as a relative, it is very reassuring to have their assistance when needed and for someone to spend the time to talking with when visiting the home.
