View Full Details of Ashgrove HouseMy mum has been a resident at Ashgrove House since May 2023. We couldn't ask for a better care home. I feel my mum is safe, cared for and looked after. The food is excellent and there is entertainment every day and lots of trips. There are lots of staff and they are all caring and very efficient. A happy wonderful place.
My mum had a serious stroke in May and went to Ashgrove House after a month in the hospital and palliative care. We were immediately struck by the welcoming atmosphere and the approachability of the staff. My mum had been living at home with support and never thought she would need a nursing home, however, the kindness and attention to all her needs helped her make the adjustment and relax into her new life. The last months of her life were peaceful and comfortable.
Ashgrove House is the perfect place for Mum since she moved in, in July. We can only say that Mum has been thriving since moving in. There is a real hub of activity every day with quiet areas to go to if needed. The staff are really caring and know Mum and her little ways. Mum was always a very sociable person and loves talking but was struggling to take care of herself, her world was gradually becoming smaller and now it has opened up again. We have used the van to bring Mum home on Christmas Day. She loves the trips out. Food is plenty! Ashgrove House is open to suggestions. They make us feel very welcome. Thank you so much!
My mother has been at Ashgrove House for 20 months and during that time she has been treated with care and respect. Over Christmas, I was able to have meals with Mum and on Christmas Day Father Christmas arrived with presents for all the residents. The love and care taken are exceptional and the entertainment team is innovative, providing a wide range of experiences for residents. Having visited a number of nursing homes in the area I am so pleased that we chose Ashgrove.
My lovely sister went into Ashgrove to have palliative care on 14th December 2022. The care that was given and the compassion shown to her and our family was above and beyond. Just taking the time to go into her room for a chat meant a lot to her, sadly she passed away on the 22nd December 2022 just over a week in their care, and I saw how wonderful they were. Be so proud of yourselves, it will never be forgotten. Love to you all from her sister and family.
Overall I am very satisfied with Ashgrove. Occasionally they have forgotten to communicate information to me - Mum had covid but I did not know (Nov 2020). They do not send regular updates about whether the home is open or closed due to covid or what the 'new rules' are.
For the first time in months, I get to actually sleep at night. Knowing my mum is safe and sound and being well looked after. She loves her room and the staff are marvellous. I call them angels.
Ashgrove staff have taken very good care of my mother despite her tendency to fall. They always let me know if there has been an incident and have made sure she does not come to any harm. My mother can be very difficult at times but the staff are extremely patient with her.
A welcoming and reassuring move under difficult circumstances whilst in lockdown due to covid-19. At all times I was reassured despite not being able to visit. I am made to feel that the care of my father is their primary concern. I am kept informed and able to speak to them any time I wish to. My father's care is first class and carried out very caringly and with the utmost dignity. 'This is his home' is a wonderful mantra - thank you.
Ashgrove is a very warm and welcoming care home. It has a very friendly atmosphere and all the staff are amazing. The residents are very well cared for and I consider myself lucky that we found such a wonderful home for my mother. The staff treat residents and the relatives like family.
My relative has been very well cared for and all health needs managed very well. Staff always inform the family of any changes in health and medication. The staff are kind, helpful, caring and polite and always ask after the relative's family. This has been a very difficult time and the care and service has been excellent.
Very happy with mum's care, especially since covid 19. From staff to management that deal with mum's daily needs I have no complaints.
My brother has been a resident for over 10 years. The care has been first-rate for all of those years. Personal care from all the staff has been like home from home. Friendships, outings, social life is encouraged. Food, all meals are of a very high standard. If left in a position on our own, my husband and I would very happily settle at Ashgrove.
My father suffered from dementia and was unable to walk. He had a happy last year due almost entirely to the care and attention of the wonderful staff. Even though I lived away from Purton I knew he was safe and looked after. When you arrive do not be put off by the slightly tired look of the place or you will be making the mistake of judging a book by its cover. This home is fantastic.
Our mum was admitted for end of life care and from day one the care and support mum and we as a family received was wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff and mum said: "they can't do enough for me". The cooks continued to offer foods to tempt mum and also ensured the family were offered gorgeous food and drinks whilst we were with mum. Thank you, you all so deserve the outstanding CQC rating you have an amazing home, owner and staff team.
I have always found my husband's care to be of the utmost standard and extremely pleased with the care he receives.
My aunt has moved from London to live nearer to me in Gloucestershire. I have been very happy with the way in which she has settled and it has been just over a year and I can see a real difference in her overall health and happiness, in fact, she has told me the staff are very good and she is happy. I am able to visit my aunt regularly and the staff and standard of care are always very good. Thank you for helping me to feel that my aunt is in a loving and caring place.
I could think of nowhere better. The care and love shown by the staff to my mother is outstanding in all respects and she feels safe, secure and at home. All the family is made welcome. This is a team which doesn't just go the extra mile. They would run a marathon to make my mother's life good.
Friendly, helpful staff. Food and drink excellent to suit the resident. Medical care very good, personal care very good. Residents hair is well looked after. This is very important to her. The resident is comfortable and staff are very kind and there is an excellent range of activities.
A very caring environment where both residents and their families are supported. Great staff who worked incredibly hard to make the home a real home where residents feel safe and secure.
