View Full Details of Barchester Cedars Care Home (Salisbury)I arrived at Barchester The Cedars Nursing Home seven weeks ago. I came here suffering with depression and within ten days, it was gone. Your home is so clean, food is really good and the staff are wonderful. My husband came one year ago, the staff are so kind to him, you have only got to ask for something, it's done straight away. Yes, it was hard to leave our home but it was right to move. Best of all, the family know we are sage and being looked after.
My Dad moved in last December as his Alzheimer's was becoming more harder to cope at home. Dad settled in fairly quickly and the care that he receives is second to none. They even arranged for a couple of Austin A30 to visit which was my Dad's 1st car, it made my his day. Recently Mum went into respite care due to not coping at home without Dad and has now moved in permanently and has settled in quickly. The food is all home cooked and very tasty. There are lots of varied activities everyday and families are welcome to join in . Mum is the the residential part so can see Dad whenever she likes. Thank you to all the staff for the care and compassion that you show my parents, I couldn't ask for a better place.
My father arrived at the Barchester The Cedars Nursing Home in July and stayed until his passing in November. During this time the care he received was outstanding from everyone.
Barchester The Cedars Nursing Home is simply magnificent. The staff are wonderful, the facilities superb and the overall standard of care exceeded my expectations. In particular, the end-of-life care my mum received was wonderful and gave me the reassurance that she was in safe hands for the last few days of her life and with the ability for me to stay with her too.
My nan has settled in well at Barchester The Cedars Nursing Home and there is always a warm welcome from the reception team and manager when I visit. My nan enjoys being able to freely socialise throughout the home with the new friends she has made. Nan is happy there and speaks highly of the staff.
My late Mother moved to The Cedars in December 2023. My sister and I were unhappy when my Mother was moved to the dementia unit after two months as the care, cleanliness, furnishings and general atmosphere were markedly inferior compared to the rest of the home. The Cedars were made aware at the time of how my sister and I felt by way of email exchanges and telephone calls and refunded the deposit when Mum moved to another home, despite not having had the required notice period.
We would like to say a huge thank you for all the care and support that Dad receives. All the staff are great. Cedars is very homely and we are so happy that Dad lives here. Thank you so much to the guys in the kitchen who made a beautiful cake for Mum who had her 85th Birthday. Mum is not a resident but we were able to celebrate with Dad. Such a lovely moment and so grateful.
I would recommend this care home 100 times over. I would recommend the cake and coffee given to visitors/families as it is always delightful - go to the Cedars just to try it! The care staff are lovely, kind and friendly and always have a smile on their faces. Nothing is ever too much to ask. My partner has some high needs and they are very patient with him. If you are looking for a super care home, go here.
I regard Barchester The Cedars Nursing Home as a second home where I can visit my husband whenever I wish and stay the whole day. He is looked after so wonderfully and feels surrounded not only by very competent, friendly staff but also an atmosphere of genuine warmth and never-ending kindness. All the staff, without exception, ensure that each resident is showered with affection and attention and welcomed within a very special happy community.
We have received exceptional care over the last few months. My mum has been made to feel very welcome and I am reassured that she is cared for in a safe environment. The food standards have been amazing and each individual resident is catered for. We are always greeted with a friendly and warm welcome.
My mum is at the end of her life. Throughout the time she has been at Barchester The Cedars Nursing Home, she has been so well looked after by patient, kind and caring staff. My mum has not been an easy resident. Her dementia has caused quite challenging behaviour. But throughout, everyone at The Cedars has worked so very hard to keep her calm and to look after her. Also, the communication with me has been so very good. If you are reading this review because you are looking for a care home, I recommend that you look no further - The Cedars is the place.
Our dear friend travelled in October 2023 to be closer to good friends from the area. Sadly it was not destined to be a very long stay and she passed at The Cedars just before Christmas 2023. I was touched by the understanding and compassion of all the staff, particularly the manager who attended her Thanksgiving service with a colleague in the village. The compassion and efforts of the staff to try to help our friend settle and to enable me and other friends to feel comfortable and always welcome at the Cedars was really appreciated, despite the residents not always making their jobs easy. And there was also always a welcome and a desire to help when I telephoned. Thank you all.
My Mum has been a resident since December 2023. All of the staff are amazing, and nothing is too much trouble. It feels like being part of a family. My father was also in the home for a short time before he passed away. The care given to both him and our family was exceptional; there was always a hug or cup of tea if needed. I would highly recommend this home to anyone.
My husband died at The Cedars in November 2023. I cannot praise highly enough the devoted love and care my husband, family and I received from every single member of staff throughout that year, especially in the final few very difficult weeks. The atmosphere at the Cedars was never ever other than happy, loving and compassionate. I miss the welcome I got from my weekly visits and was very touched that some members of staff voluntarily attended his Thanksgiving Service.
Caring, compassionate and always positive is how I would describe every member of staff who looks after my mum at the Cedars Care Home. Altzheimers can make her difficult and demanding but she is treated with dignity and respect at all times. Clean and comfortable, beautiful surroundings, a huge range of activities and welcoming staff - I would highly recommend!
My mother-in-law has been a resident at Cedars for a number of years. The care is outstanding. All the staff are efficient and very approachable. Nothing is too much trouble, their resident's care is always first priority. The activities team are amazing, they really do go the extra mile for every resident, nothing is too much trouble and special activities are arranged to make them feel special. Would highly recommend this special place.
My mum has been at Barchester The Cedars Nursing Home since June. It was a very rocky start to begin with as Mum wouldn’t settle but wow, how things have changed. My mum is now so happy at Cedars. The staff have been brilliant, not only with settling Mum but also towards us. All the staff are very friendly and genuinely want to do the best for my mum. Mum loves to chat and living at Cedars gives her the ability to be social and take part in many activities. The home has a welcoming feel as soon as you enter. I would highly recommend Cedars to anyone and allowing dogs to visit is a great bonus!
The staff are all very caring and do a wonderful job of looking after my dad. The place is always clean and tidy and the food is very good. The girls on reception are so friendly and helpful and the entertainment team are always thinking of lovely things to do.
We very much appreciated the care and patience the team at Barchester The Cedars Nursing Home provided to my father. He was there nearly six months, transitioning from quite independent to very dependent. Cedars adapted their care as his needs changed and we felt they always had his best interests at heart. The staff were lovely and this made a real difference to my father, who wanted to maintain involvement in his care and to have a degree of companionship. We also found the broader team to be responsive to our needs as a family. Thank you.
The Cedars Nursing Home was the second attempt at finding the right for Mum and I am so happy we found them. You are always greeted with a smile from every staff member you pass. They always make you feel welcome and care about the relative's welfare just as much as the residents. The most important thing for me was to have somewhere with calm energy as Mum has been through so much and The Cedars finally provides this. On Memory Lane, people are always treated with respect in a calm and friendly manner. Keep up the amazing work!
