View Full Details of Goatacre Manor Care CentreDad became a new resident last year in November 2023. I would like to say that Dad has settled in well over the last 12 months and it definitely feels like his home. I feel very reassured that he is being looked after really well. The care home staff are all approachable, caring and respectful and always greet the visitors like myself with a smile. The care home appears to be very clean, and fresh-smelling. There is fresh food cooked every day for the residents. Goatacre Manor Care Centre is definitely a home-from-home. With the added support of a very professional Nursing Team. Thank you to everyone who works at Goatacre Manor Care Centre for all the wonderful care you give to Dad and the support you give me. Best wishes.
Dad is very settled and happy living at Goatacre Manor Care Centre. He enjoys joining in with the activities and entertainment and chatting and joking with staff. He has a lovely room to relax in when he wants some quiet time with easy access to a cosy, comfortable lounge area. The staff are brilliant and very caring. Dad loves all the interaction with them and the other residents and feels very well cared for. He always says he's lucky to have found such a good place to live and that everyone takes good care of him. The staff were all amazing with us when we lost Mum. They took great care of Mum in her final days, Dad and all our family. Mum, too was very settled and happy living at Goatacre and enjoyed chatting with the staff and sharing family photos. The nursing care given to her was invaluable. Dad enjoys the delicious, homecooked meals, family and friends are made to feel very welcome. We would recommend Goatacre with its warm, homely atmosphere and wonderful, caring staff.
I was very reluctant to entrust the care of my mum to someone else, but she required round-the-clock nursing. Goatacre Manor provided this for over two years in a pleasant rural environment. I was kept informed of any developments by the friendly team who seemed to have plenty of time to discuss her needs. Whilst I would have preferred to continue giving her one-to-one care, I feel Goatacre Manor was the best choice. We are lucky to have this professional facility in our area.
When I first visited Goatacre I was made to feel very welcome, I didn't need an appointment and was told to visit anytime which was very reassuring. The overall feel was extremely positive, the home was very clean, tidy, and well-staffed. The rooms were very pleasant and comfortable. Since my Father has been in the home he has been very well looked after and is very content and comfortable. Staff are very caring and dedicated to looking after their residents and are very personable. Meals and drinks are well supplied and Dad polishes off all his meals. The nurses are available should you have any questions. Overall a lovely nursing home that cares about its residents.
Our dear Mum first went into Goatacre for ' convalescence' following a period of illness and hospitalisation. Within weeks we saw a renewed Mum and Granny thanks to the kindness and professionalism of all the staff at Goatacre, no matter their role. Mum had regained her confidence, independence and dignity, was enjoying the company, food and entertainment, interaction with other residents and especially the staff and probably most importantly feeling 'safe' again. Visitors are welcome in a home where resident comfort, health, hygiene, cleanliness and happiness are of paramount importance and the message that this is their 'home' abounds. For two and a half years Mum always knew she could come home if she wanted to but she also felt she was better off in the care of such wonderful people. The care that was shown to Mum and us as a family as she reached the end of her life was truly special, with loving words and kind hands. Would that such kind treatment is afforded to everyone!
What a fantastic care home this is, my wife is / was a resident here for four years and the care she received was second to none. The staff who looked after her are also fantastic. Unfortunately, my wife passed away on her birthday last week. The compassion I received helped me through my grief, also the care that was given to my wife during this time, she was shown dignity and love.
After spending weeks visiting care homes across Wiltshire, we came across Goatacre Manor Care Centre in Goatacre. As soon as we stepped in the front door it felt like home. The rooms are airy and all have lovely different views. The welcome we received was very warm and friendly. All the staff are amazing with my mum and she is so well looked after. I know when I leave Mum after a visit she will be safe, warm and very well looked after. The food is fabulous and always looks and tastes wonderful. They always have so many activities to do each week, which I can say after joining in is great fun. If we didn’t find Goatacre Manor Care Centre I’m not sure what we would have done. I can’t recommend them enough.
The home is always very clean, and the staff are welcoming. My mum is always really well looked after, and the residents have plenty of stimulating activities. Thank you very much to all the wonderful staff - you have made all the difference to our family.
My mum was a resident for just over 16 months. It was a difficult time in her life and a huge decision to go into care. I cannot thank all the staff enough for helping us manage the transition in a considered and patient way. My mum was happy there, felt safe, had some fun and company and knew that the staff were there if she needed them. From our perspective, we implicitly trusted the staff to have Mum's best interests at heart, to contact us should there be any concerns and to treat Mum as an individual and with respect. We found them to be extremely caring towards Mum and ourselves, giving hugs and support when needed. The Goatacre Manor Care Centre was an extension of the family, for which we are so grateful.
Over a period of several years, I’ve visited a friend on a monthly basis. I have always found the staff to be very helpful and friendly, responding to any of my phone enquiries regarding times to visit, making me feel very welcome. I’m impressed by the range of activities offered to residents and the care that’s taken to provide an attractive and homely environment. The well-kept garden is a great asset.
My aunt spent two years at the lovely Goatacre Manor Care Centre. She was wonderfully looked after and enjoyed every minute of her time there. The staff couldn't do enough for her. The care and food were excellent. She loved all the activities, visiting singers and birthdays! Tea on the train with her was very special and also Sunday lunches. I have friends who have relatives in other care homes and they usually start by saying, 'Oh it's ok, but' at Goatacre there are no 'buts'.
My aunt is currently residing at Goatacre Manor. She is happy and healthy and very well cared for. Family members are so welcome and she is known by staff and residents alike who all speak and are very friendly. The care and attention she receives is excellent and she is happy living there. The staff know her very well and are so patient and caring. She has thrived since she has lived there and absolutely loves all the entertainment that is put on and also the projects she gets involved with. Our family are so pleased that she is at Goatacre Manor.
Goatacre continues to provide excellent care for Mum, but it's not only that... they support Dad too. He's living independently but they keep a gentle eye out on him too. They ensure their family members can visit at short notice and keep us informed of her welfare. Thank you.
My mother has been a resident at Goatacre Manor Care Centre since the end of January (2022) after 10 weeks in hospital. She is very well looked after by the lovely excellent staff, the nurses and the carers. They are so respectful and kind beyond belief to Mum. Dad especially misses her terribly but we know she is safe and content in their hands. Thank you team, forever grateful.
I find the staff very helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much for them and they take good care of my father. I have no worries about his care at Goatacre Manor Care Centre. I am always welcome and often invited for lunch. There are plenty of activities to keep the residents occupied and all are treated with respect, dignity and care.
My aunt is now into her second year of being at Goatacre Manor Care Centre. There continues to be a varied and increasing range of activities available that very much help to provide her with interesting and enjoyable experiences. I am looking forward to watching some cricket with her from the viewing gallery over the next few months as well as taking some train journeys in the new railway carriage! Aunt is on first name terms with all the excellent staff and enjoys the home cooking and the varied choice of the lovely food, some of which she has helped grow.
After leaving a family home it is really hard to adjust to life in a care home. My mother found it so difficult at first, however, finding Goatacre Manor was a hidden gem! It is so homely, lovely and warm with good home-cooked food with very caring staff. The nursing staff are excellent and contact me if they have any concerns and are always available to answer any questions I may have. The entertainment is very good, my mother looks forward to the daily quizzes and she also enjoys seeing the animals that are brought in. The gardens are lovely, looking forward to taking Mum out there when the weather warms up. The admin team are always on hand to answer any questions and requests and does an amazing job. Thank you so much, it's so reassuring to know that Mum is in safe hands.
There isn't enough space to write all the wonderful things that I would like to say! The care home, surroundings, staff and volunteers are all just amazing. We have really enjoyed the quiz nights lately, a truly amazing atmosphere where we can all laugh and enjoy each other's company together.
Having had experience of both working in many care homes and having my father in care, I would have to say Goatacre is quite unique. It’s an independent home and has a very caring ethic. They even held a 'pub quiz' in the evening recently for resident's families and friends. It was a very enjoyable evening and a great success. Another bonus is my mother-in-law loves the food there, which is obviously really important. Thank you one and all.
We are greatly comforted by the way the staff look after all residents with such care, warmth and attention. My mother is so much better since she moved there over 2 years ago. There is a range of activities suited to a variety of interests. It is warm and comfortable. I would strongly recommend this care home.
