View Full Details of Barchester Henford House Care HomeI have only been here for eight days so I am still learning. I expect to be moved to the room of my choice when the heating is fixed.
Friendly staff, comfortable, warm, my birds are happy.
We have always been very pleased with the care my aunt received. My aunt was very happy at Barchester Henford House Care Home and being almost 3 hours away, it was a comfort to us knowing she was well cared for and happy. The staff were always friendly, helpful and very good with communication and updates. The staff were very respectful, informative and helpful when my aunt died recently.
Good range of activities. Exceedingly welcoming room. Staff are lovely. Looking forward to moving in permanently.
I visited my mother-in-law to attend the fish and chips club. It was a really enjoyable experience. Thank you to all the staff, including the chef.
Mum came to stay on two separate respite occasions and had a wonderful time. She was very welcomed by all the staff and left each time feeling relaxed and happy.
A really lovely care home. The staff were ever so kind to my dad who came in for some respite. The food was really good and so was his room. He really enjoyed the company of the other gents this time and made some friends. The staff were really kind to him and it felt home from home.
My husband has been in Henford House for two days, but we are both thrilled with the beautiful buildings, the room leaving to the garden space. The staff really cannot do enough. They are so professional and kind and are prepared to give us time to air views, assess needs etc. Couldn't be more impressed. There is a real "buzz" about the place. It's very person-centred. The lounge and dining rooms are inviting. I'm sure my husband will recover here, and we can get him to join in with staff and residents alike. Thank you.
I visited a friend, accompanied by his wife, who had recently been transferred to this wonderful care home. The gardens and buildings are palatial, airy, spotlessly clean and beautifully laid out with amazing facilities and large rooms - in fact, the atmosphere was more like a very smart, comfortable hotel than a care home. All members of staff were friendly, welcoming, caring, attentive, informative and very professional. I would have no hesitation in highly recommending Barchester Henford House Care Home to any potential resident or family seeking a vacancy for their loved one.
Lot to say about Henford, all good, but this facility is made great by the staff. The staff are brilliant, helpful, caring and patient. I have witnessed the staff on many occasions and am in awe of how they deal with the residents, led well by management. Thank you.
Good quality respite care. So helpful that there are no minimum stay requirements. This flexibility means my husband is happy to take a short break and I can make the most of his funding.
The home is perfect for my husband's present needs, with the right amount of care. He especially enjoys the view from his room window, the meals and has found he can communicate with a couple of the residents.
A family-centric environment with individual care needs provided by staff who know all the residents' names.
A lovely afternoon in the garden for the pudding club in the sunshine. Cakes galore with some army soldiers providing interesting stories of their work. An excellent idea. Staff pulled out all the stops, providing delicious cakes. The gardens looked beautiful, full of colour.
A friend of mine is staying in this care home and my wife and I visited him in June 2024. Together with his wife, we prepared a lunch of his favourite food which we ate in the home's private dining room. This is a lovely comfortable private space, large enough for probably 20 people but we had it just for the 4 of us. The home provided all the plates, cutlery etc... and set the table up. They also took it all away afterwards. Any resident can book this room to eat privately with friends/family: A great facility. The home itself is outstanding. Our friend tells us he gets good care there. And we've witnessed that. During our visits we have been struck by the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, the cleanliness and freshness of the whole home and the overall facilities including the dining area, lounges and garden. This is clearly a well-managed, comfortable and caring home.
I felt the staff were very friendly and helpful. The gardens are beautiful very well maintained. The home is very clean and the residents seemed happy. I can honestly say I would recommend this care home.
I spent two weeks as a respite guest when my husband was admitted as a resident. We were both created with great kindness and respectfulness. I am confident that my husband is in safe hands. The staff were calm and efficient. I think they are slightly understaffed at weekends.
The staff are absolutely wonderful and caring. It doesn't matter what their job is, they all care for the residents with dignity and kindness. I couldn't have asked for a better place for my Father. I never feel worried about my Father now.
Kind and caring staff. Any problems encountered are dealt with quickly by management. A small, friendly place that actually feels like a home. The gardens are lovely and although some of the rooms are small and dark, there is ample opportunity to spend most of the time in a light, pleasant dining area or lounge.
The staff are kind and caring but I’ve had recent concerns that there are just not enough. I’ve brought this to the manager’s attention and she assures me there is, so perhaps it’s a management issue!! My husband is very happy with the staff and the respect he’s given. Recently he’s been enjoying the activities that are appropriate for him and the activities manager does her absolute best to include him wherever possible. His room is very gloomy and dark and does need freshening up.
