View Full Details of Miranda HouseWhen our mum was given a place at Miranda House, after a fall and spending 7 weeks in hospital, we were so grateful. As Mum was struggling to sleep, Miranda House was the only home that agreed to look after her. They have been very kind and helped me and my sister with the transition as much as they could. The activities staff have been amazing. They have taken Mum to bingo and Dementia choir weekly, along with choir concerts and many of the tractor runs that have happened through the town. They frequently invite singers to entertain residents and organise arts and crafts, quizzes and other activities weakly. All of this has allowed us to feel confident Mom is being looked after.
To all managers and staff of Miranda House, thank you for the second year of the invitation to Christmas dinner to spend with my wife and to the catering staff for a wonderful dinner.
I did not know what to expect, mother went down very quickly to a point where she needed 24 hour care. Right from the start we were made to feel welcome and they spent a lot of time with mum to help her settle in. Full of respect for the staff, the more I visit the more I appreciate the respect and care they show the residents.
The care home is very clean and tidy - all of the staff are friendly. Always welcomes you with a smile on reception is lovely as well. My nan is really looked after and I am very happy and appreciate the staff.
I am, as always, so very impressed at the level of love and care that all the staff at Miranda offered to each and every resident. The care they all give is above reproach, and the help, information and support that is given to us as relatives, makes our journey with our loved ones more bearable. I cannot emphasise enough how awesome all of these people are. Many thanks to all for everything you do.
Visiting is a very joyous event, all members of staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. The level of care to residents is outstanding, not only for their physical needs but also their emotional well-being. This also extends to their treatment of visitors. The food is to a very high standard and varied. I would not wish for my mother to be anywhere else.
In November 2023 the time came for my mother to move into a care home, due to her dementia deteriorating. Leaving her in a new home not knowing how she would be cared for was very hard as I wanted the best care for her. 7 months on and although my mother has deteriorated, the care, kindness and dignity of all the staff has been amazing. It's like a big extended family and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you so much.
The home and staff are excellent, they make us welcome when we visit. There's not much there to entertain my husband as he can't do much, picture books or magazines would be good as he doesn't read. I'm going to sort a TV or radio as he likes music but not a lot of noise. All the staff deserve medals for the wonderful care they give.
My mother has been in Miranda House for 5 years and has received excellent care. The staff from the receptionist, the domestic staff and carers is second to none. 100% they all go above and beyond. The carers are absolutely amazing. Unfortunately the decor is not good. I do know that the home is getting a face lift but my mother's room is in dire need of decorating. I was told over a year ago that oy was going to be done but now has come to wait! This is not good considering how much it costs.
My mum has been a resident of Miranda House now for a few years, and although initially, she found it very difficult to settle and understand what was happening, due to dementia, both staff and management have been extremely patient, caring and empathic, and as a result, she is now settled and comparatively content. Communication between staff and relatives is well-established and always professional, everyone is very approachable and happy to answer any questions we may have. Although the home environment is a little outdated it is great to hear that plans for refurbishment are just around the corner. The food cannot be faulted and is always to a high standard and suitable for the age and abilities of the residents. What is most important for us as a family is knowing that Mum is safe and well cared for, and the compassion and genuine fondness are shown in abundance by the staff, I cannot thank all at Miranda House enough for everything they do in what is a very difficult and challenging job.
I have been a regular visitor to Miranda House for almost a year. I have always found the staff to be very professional when undertaking their work that I am able to see. It is reassuring as a relative to know a loved one is being cared for by a good team. My only negative comment is based on weekend access. There are no front-of-house staff at weekends and visitors are reliant on other staff being able to allow access. On two occasions, no one has come to the door so I have been unable to see my wife. I am fortunate that I live very local to the home but I know some visitors come from further afield and this would be very frustrating if it happened then.
I'm happy with what I have seen and the garden looks nice to sit in, in warmer weather, and the carers seem friendly enough and my uncle seems happy enough too.
My husband was rejected by care homes throughout Wiltshire because he needed one-to-one care, during his three months stay in hospital with Parkinson's, dementia and delirium. He was very agitated and depressed. He was assessed by the deputy manager at Miranda House who agreed to accept him. From his first hours at Miranda House, he has not needed one-to-one care and he is calm. The staff are kind, understanding and respectful. I can't speak too highly of the care my husband receives at Miranda House.
My husband has Alzheimer's - he has settled in so well. The nurses and carers are caring, gentle, welcoming, calming and loving. He has settled in so fast and although he wants to come home with me, he also wants to stay. I am so delighted, thank you Miranda House.
Can't thank all staff at Miranda House enough. The improvement in my dad is amazing. Everyone is so helpful and happy. Food is amazing, it is so clean in the home.
There seemed to be low morale in the staff and an atmosphere of tension, particularly in latter months. Most concerning was the presence of a resident who would come into our relative's room and alarm her with threatening behaviour, on one occasion hitting her on the head. We were assured this would not happen again, however, this resident persisted with this intrusive behaviour. Our relative no longer felt safe - and we had no choice but to move her to another care home.
I am of the view that Miranda House provides very good care for my relative. I also find the staff friendly and responsive to my sister's needs or when I visit the home and need to speak to a member of staff.
The staff are very friendly and the care is excellent. I can't visit as often as I would like but I know Dad is being treated well which gives me peace of mind. If I have a question, it is always answered quickly and we are informed of any medical problems. I can't thank the staff enough.
I am always very satisfied with Miranda House. The staff are pleasant and efficient and the place itself is clean and welcoming. My wife's room is pleasing.
Very caring atmosphere, compassionate staff, decor requires updating. On the whole, a suitable place for residence for the care provided. Dementia care has been very difficult.
