View Full Details of Park View Nursing HomeA lovely home, very clean, and the staff are kind and caring. The staff goes above and beyond to help. I would highly recommend this home. 5 stars!
I feel blessed that I decided to contact Park View about care for my mum. Having visited several homes to find a suitable one, this one just shone out! It has a warmth and friendliness that the others lacked. It may not be plush but everyone who works here is so kind and friendly. I cannot fault the care my mum is receiving. She settled very quickly and is content. The improvement in her within a month was amazing. We have put some pictures and pieces of her furniture in her room to make it more homely. The staff encourage her to continue to do what she can for herself. It is well managed and communication with the home is good. They always let me know if there is a medical issue with my mum and the outcome. It is clean and the food is very good. The daily activities for the residents during the week gives something for Mum to aim at each day. Overall, it is good value for money and I would recommend it. I have peace of mind that my mum is being well looked after.
Visiting my friend, a resident in the home, I have noticed what a warm welcoming place it is. My friend is well looked after and the staff are always friendly and approachable. Since going to the home I have seen where they take the time and patience with the residents, very appreciative of my friend's birthday tea laid on for us visiting.
Park View is a very friendly and safe environment. Staff are very attentive and patient, with my mother's needs she gets confused and emotional and they constantly reassure her. Plenty of activities to join in. Enjoys her food and plenty of choice. Medical staff keep me informed of any changes.
After a very difficult year of hospitalisation, home carers, residential care home, social services etc. I am happy to say that my mother is now safe and secure in Park View Nursing Home. Along this difficult journey, I have found all the health care staff both NHS, social services and care homes, very professional, caring and helpful. Park View Nursing Home is all I could have hoped for in taking care of my mother's late-life needs. Friendly, professional and caring. Thank you all.
My mum moved into Park View in May after an 8-week stay in hospital. The staff were so welcoming to her and made her very welcome. She was very confused at the beginning, but the carers were so lovely and patient with her. The home itself is very clean, there are no unpleasant odours that we had noticed in other homes that we viewed before we found Park View. The home-cooked meals are amazing, with good choices and there are always biscuits or cakes with a cup of tea or coffee whenever they want it. Mum loves her coffee and it's never too much trouble for the staff to get one for her whenever she wants one. There are staff who play games with them or read to them, there is singing and today my mum has been on her first trip out to old town gardens, all so well organised by everyone, and when we returned Mum said how it really felt like home there now. I can't believe the difference in her in a few short months and I am so very pleased we found Park View.
I cannot put into words how pleased I was with every aspect of my partner's care. The staff in the office showed kindness and compassion. When he arrived from the hospital two members of staff were there to greet him. This was an introduction to wonderful care he received. Staff helped me with all the difficult stages when he died.
As with any care home, I was concerned about my mother going into one, but I head nothing at all to worry about. The staff are very professional but friendly and the treat my mother like a queen. Everything, in my opinion, is fine, my mum is happy so I am happy. Keep up the good work, well done.
We spent some time searching in the Swindon area to find a home that would suit my mother's needs. She entered the home aged 81 and had suffered from Parkinson's Disease for the previous 25 years. Park View senior staff were welcoming and understanding when we met them to discuss my mother becoming a resident. Throughout her seven years at the care home, she received excellent care from all the staff, from sister and manager through to the nursing staff and the cleaning and catering staff. External medical attention was timely and supportive when needed. In the early days of her stay outings were arranged which she really enjoyed, and activities in-house also kept her engaged. As she faded the staff were keen to ensure she did not remain isolated in her room, and her care in her final weeks could not be faulted. I would happily recommend Park View in Blunsdon to anyone looking for a care home.
My mum has recently died at Park View Nursing Home. It was a very distressing time, but the staff at Park View could not have been more caring, not only for Mum but for us as well. They, of course, were familiar with what death looked like and lead us by the hand all the way. Mum died over six months and all that time they looked after her practically, which meant I was able to grieve and make the most of Mum's final months. So sad, but I felt that I was helped all the way and especially at the end. A big thank you.
My Mum was a resident at Park View Nursing Home for almost 8 years. She received excellent love and care there. Despite her tricky nature they always showed her kindness. She died peacefully with one of her favourite carers sat beside her. I would highly recommend this nursing home. I looked at them all in the area and we chose the perfect one.
So many 'A' grades speak for themselves. It's clear that staff care about what they do and do it to a high level. Inevitably, the use of masks sometimes makes it difficult to know names, especially having so many personnel (up to sixty). I hope that there will be a place for me in the home if ever I had need for it!
Very clean, friendly, polite and welcoming. Looking after my friend's husband who is the visitor, with a cuppa waiting for him for when he visited his wife.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Thoughtful management and overall professional care and attention at a very sad time for all of us. We would like to offer our thanks to all the staff involved.
My mum has been in Park View Nursing Home for about five weeks, the staff have been fantastic. My mum has been quite difficult but they are all really lovely to her. My mum has dementia and is very rude to people and can be demanding, I struggle to spend too much time with her. The people that run the home, all the care staff and cleaning staff are all really friendly. I'm so happy we chose this home and that they had a room available for mum. I've visited a few care home over the years with different relatives and this is definitely the best.
Mum is cared for so well by the team, she is happy and bright with the great support of the team. They always go the extra mile to make residents feel like a part of another family. They baked Mum a cake on the first of February and she had guests, cards, presents and even new sparkly nails for the occasion. The manager is always approachable and super helpful, it gives me great comfort that Mum is in such good hands.
Staff always available to talk to and discuss any concerns. An honest and open environment. First class care and support. Would certainly recommend.
I write this review with the greatest pleasure, Park View Nursing Home is a great place for the elderly in need of residential or nursing care. My mum moved to Park View in early August 2022, we had to move her from another placement which mum had been very used to. This brought considerable stress, yet with the support of the manager - and other amazing ladies, really helped us get through the transition. One of the ladies, who so kindly collected mum in her wheelchair and drove her back to Park View (mobility vehicle) could not have been any more welcoming! The friendliness of staff and empathy from the team at the very start shone through and has continued to the present day. The care given to residents is second to none. Residents are respected and treated with warmth and humility. Nursing, Care and housekeeping staff really do give their best at all times - the manager leads a very strong team, and everyone really does aim to give 100% care and support - cannot thank them enough!
This was a marvellous place to stay. Very clean, peaceful with fine excellent staff. Caring very professional, and polite. It was a joy to stay there.
The issues that I experience when I first moved in here were dealt with immediately. I have now settled in very well and all the care workers etc are so kind and lovely and make it feel just like home.
