View Full Details of Princess Lodge Care CentreThis care home is such a lovely place. The staff are all very friendly and caring. The rooms are very nice. They offer lots of activities for the residents. They all go out of their way to ensure residents are happy. The food is of very high standard. This is a great care facility for anyone who needs nursing care. Highly recommended. I'm completely happy that my person is extremely well looked after, safe, secure and stimulated.
The two receptionists are absolutely amazing. One of them helped to settle Mum in when she arrived and put her at ease. My mum is a very difficult person, the staff are completely unfazed by this and have always treated her with kindness despite her bad behaviour. Very impressed with the home and the staff.
My mother arrived at Princess Lodge in January. She has been treated with great kindness and looked after well. Whilst all the staff are very good, some are outstanding - I always know when one particular nurse is on duty as my mum’s hair is always freshly washed by her. The staff have been kind and supportive to me at this particularly difficult time. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Everyone greets me with a friendly smile. The rooms are clean and well-equipped. In terms of activities, there is always something going on but my mother is, sadly, not in a fit state to participate.
We cannot rate the care that Mum receives at Princess Lodge highly enough. The atmosphere is always so calm and welcoming and the staff are all so incredibly warm and friendly and seem to really care, and that means so, so much. Whenever we visit we're always greeted by cheery smiles - even remembering where we travel from to see Mum each time. It's the personal touches that make all the difference. It feels like we're being cared for as much as Mum is whenever we're there, and that really matters because the visits aren't always easy. Mum has severe dementia and although seems to recognise us as people she knows (we're her children) she can't understand what we're saying when we try to talk to her and we can't understand her when she's talking away in her own world. It's emotionally draining but bearable because she seems so happy and content, and clearly has an amazing relationship with the staff. It makes leaving her there bearable and that's worth everything to us.
I'm pleased to provide this review of my engagement and visits from Australia to Princess Lodge, Swindon between November 2022 and my mother's death on July 27th, 2023. The back story best illustrates the professionalism and care provided to my mother given England and Australia time zone differences and tyranny of distance, The management, staff, nurses and carers at Princess Lodge are a very rare breed who, despite the challenges, went above and beyond to keep me informed of the health and well-being of my mother during her care at Princess Lodge This was evident during my visits in November 2022, May 2023, and July 2023 upon my mother's death. Maintaining an empathetic understanding to a situation not usual, the Princess Lodge team maintained regular calls and e-mails to put us at ease. In particular, I want to acknowledge the incredible professionalism and patience shown by the Princess Lodge Manager. Incredible people and experience.
When visiting, always greeted by cheerful staff asking how we are. Mum is always well dressed, hair brushed, happy and singing praises of the staff. Room is always clean and tidy. Nothing seems too much trouble if we request anything for Mum. Activities are many and varied to keep Mum interested and alert.
It is reassuring Mum is in very good hands at Princess Lodge. She is well looked after, always looking smart, healthy and happy. The staff are brilliant from the reception/office staff to the carers and nurses - nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend Princess Lodge to others.
My mum was admitted to Princess Lodge Care Centre for end of life care in December 2022. Unfortunately, she wasn't there long as she passed away in January. Throughout her time in Princess Lodge, she had wonderful, kind, attentive care. Not only were the staff kind with mum, they were also very kind with me. From the time I first viewed the home, everyone was friendly and couldn't do enough to help. I had a very comfortable feeling about mum being there. When she was admitted, I could always get through on the phone to talk to someone and if I was told someone would call me back they always would. That was a great comfort for me as I live a long way away and couldn't visit. Mum liked being there and felt safe, comfortable and well cared for. I thoroughly recommended Princess Lodge.
During Dad's stay at Princess Lodge Care Home, he was very well looked after with care and dignity. As a family, we were made to feel welcome by all members of staff. They became in a way, our second family. We had no concerns about Dad being in your care because he was so well looked after. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they would go out of their way to accommodate Dad if the kitchen didn't have something he asked for. We would have no hesitation in recommending your care to anyone. Thank you for all you have done for our dad.
I always enjoy visiting my friend in the care home. The staff and management are always welcoming, polite and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The care home is beautiful and spotlessly clean. It is so lovely, enjoying a cup of tea and some cake with my friend. I can see how happy she is living there, which is so reassuring for me.
Excellent care home, well managed with friendly dedicated staff. Nothing is too much trouble, residents are regularly monitored with a good range of activities to keep them occupied. Regular relatives meetings are also arranged to seek views and ideas.
As soon as I walked in, a member of staff greeted me and was very nice. She showed me to my friend's room. I did notice what a very nice place it was and very clean. The staff were very friendly. Will be happy to call again.
The compassion, empathy and understanding of the whole team, including management, showed my partner and my family during my partner's time at Princess Lodge was just exemplary. They went above and beyond to ensure we felt and were part of my partner's circle of care, thus making his time at Princess Lodge as best as it could be. My partner had precious time with his grandchild and family, which he did not experience elsewhere. This meant the world to us.
Our dear and very special dad was well looked after for a year. The team became our extended family and go the extra mile to make everyone feel safe and secure.
I was apprehensive about my mum going into a care centre, but I needn't have worried - I'm so glad we picked Princess Lodge Care Centre. All the staff are amazing, very professional, caring and go out of their way to help! My mum has a mental illness and dementia and they always treat her with kindness and dignity. We could not have picked a better place for my mum to be looked after and would highly recommend Princess Lodge.
My dear husband was admitted to Princess Lodge Care Centre with a diagnosis of Lew body dementia. From the first day he was treated with dignity by nurses, carers, management and reception played a big part. The care was exceptional until his death in January 2022. I could never have chosen a better place for my husband to end his days. Congratulations and thank you to all the staff at Princess Lodge.
The staff at Princess Lodge Care Centre took great care of my mum in her final months. They all showed such sympathy and professionalism, always allowing mum to maintain her dignity despite her struggles with dementia and anxiety, as well as Coivd. I have no hesitation in recommending Princess Lodge Care Centre.
I just travelled back to England this past October to visit my Mum who is a resident of Princess Lodge care home. It’s been over 2 and half years since I have been able to visit due to the pandemic and I must say that the staff treated me and my daughter superbly. This care home has an incredible staff. They are all so kind and caring and professional. The care that my Mum receives is exemplary. The staff really do care about your loved ones and make sure they are treated the same way that you would yourself. All I can say is that I was very impressed and happy with the level of care, and the friendliness of all the staff members I met. Thank you guys for taking such good care of my beloved Mum. It is a great relief being so far away to know that she is well taken care of. I’d love to name all of you in this review but too many to mention.
My father spent a number of months in the care at Princess Lodge Care Centre until he passed away whilst in care in late August 2021. During visits to see my father, and also over a video call service regularly used, it was clear he was very settled and happy. The staff knew him well and looked after him. He was not shy in commenting if anything was wrong, especially the food, but he always said that the food was good! During phone calls I made the staff were always polite and if I was unable to contact the nurse they took a message and always called back. Summary - clean and well-organised home with great levels of care - thank you.
The care and love shown to my wife in her two and a half years with Princess Lodge has been superb throughout and that service was shown to me whilst I was struggling with the agony of losing my wife to Alzheimer's and then the consequences of Covid lockdowns. It truly has been beyond measure. The staff became our family and I will miss them all. Truly 5-star! My family have strict instructions to send me there if I need care. God bless you all and well done!
