View Full Details of Amberley Court Care HomeFor the short time that my uncle was at Amberley Court the staff was very pleasant, supportive and approachable. If we had any questions they were always available. The family would like to thank the management and staff for the good care my uncle received since being at Amberley Court.
I've been the son of a service user at Amberley Care Home since I was 13, and at 22, I've seen both the previous and current management teams in action. The care for my mother, who has Huntington's disease, has always been person-centred, but the new management has taken it to another level. They've made family involvement a priority, introducing new ways for us to be part of her care. Communication is better and any concerns are addressed through accessible channels no matter how big or small and the current team is proactive in finding solutions. I visit daily, but I'm confident that even if I couldn't, my mother's care wouldn't falter. The staff are knowledgeable, compassionate, and well-adapted to her specific needs. Amberley Court provides consistent care and I highly recommend them.
My son enjoyed his stay and loved being around other people and having a break from me.
This review refers particularly to the activities and the grounds. In the time my nephew has been at Amberley Court, the range of activities and events has changed so much in a positive way - drumming sessions, a fitness trainer every week, the summer garden party, etc, etc. All down to the hard-working activities team - all of them, secondly, a huge thank you to the maintenance man for transforming the grounds - flower beds, pots, etc, and lovely new courtyard furniture - so homely for the long stay residents.
One staff member in particular is very friendly and helpful.
It's so good. I like the activities, but I think there could be more activities available. Food I think there needs to be more fruit and vegetables too. I would like my son's shower routine to be more regular.
My brother has been a resident at Amberley Court for approximately five years. He is very happy there. He joins in with the activities and the staff do all they can to make him happy. I am not sure about the food standards (the menus etc) my brother has no complaints. He is perfectly happy with the staff. The home is very clean. They were very considerate with the decor, asking my brother which colour he prefers for the walls. Knowing my brother is well looked after and happy makes all the family (my brother is 5th of seven siblings). Keep up the good work.
I am new here, I have been here approx four weeks but so far my experience of Amberley Court has been extremely positive from the very start the staff have been very caring and have made me want to go. I wouldn't change a thing regarding my place at Amberley Court.
I feel really good and have enjoyed being here, some days are better than others, down to my own disabilities. The staff are very nice most of the time but sometimes you can see they are under a lot of pressure due to covid and the cost of living going up for us all.
This care home is really good. I am happy to be part of it.
Nice clean, tidy home. Which seems well organised. The staff seem confident and were approachable and helpful and seem very caring. There was a lovely calm atmosphere and an enjoyable visit. Well done to all.
My brother has been at Amberley Court for 15 years. Some managers have been better than others. Since the current manager took over I have been extremely happy with his care.
My brother has been looked after at Amberley Court since December 2021. He can be difficult mentally - mood swings and angry outbursts - but the staff have handled this very well and with great professionalism. He is also physically unable to walk or stand but they have the correct equipment and knowledgeable staff to handle the situation. We took him back home recently but soon realised he could not be looked after and he needed to go back. They promptly helped facilitate this and welcomed him back. I can highly recommend this care/nursing home and its staff and management.
The manager should be sacked, I had to get the CQC, adults safeguarding and BUPA on the case, the MD from BUPA and the manager came into my room Tuesday the 14th December, in front of me she told him bare-faced lies, I even told her to her face - you are telling him bare-faced lies. I have been trying to change doctors for 17 weeks but loads of times she says you can't, everybody has got to have the same doctor. Another lie, on Amberley Court's website it says you can have any doctor you want, I have not had any tablets for five weeks Monday 20th December, I been on them for ten years. I have been crying like a baby for nearly five weeks, after three weeks she offered me Paracetamol, no good to me, I have been on two co-codamol, four times day for ten years. You ask the care staff something but they never come back to you. One of the staff said once, they go out the door, they forget and she said - out of sight out of mind. I have been here 17 weeks but it has been like 17 years, I have been treated like dirt.
Uncaring staff, unprofessional management who don’t investigate complaints and just cover up with excuses, emails not responded to or miraculously go missing. High turnover of staff, especially management. No consistency with keeping residents connected with loved ones. Visiting rules made up to suit the needs of the home. Food bland; unappealing and lacks cultural diversity. Activities are a joke and it appears to be difficult to hire activity staff over the years. Some of the staff are miserable and unfriendly with bad attitudes and some are a credit to the home. If you want peace of mind please find another care home for loved ones. Check out the CQC ratings for Amberley Court which echoes the above points.
Very unhappy with management. After a stroke, my brother was cared for at Amberley Court. Care staff were amazing. However, management were hostile. I sent emails that were not returned. My brother sadly died in hospital after his short stay in Amberley Court. Not one member of staff offered condolences.
Amberley Court have been looking after my nan for nearly 2 years. I have always found the staff to be very friendly and very attentive to Nan's needs. They are always kind and caring and treat her with respect. Nan is currently in end of life care and the staff are doing everything they can to make her final journey comfortable. I would recommend Amberley Court.
I've been visiting the home over the last couple of months. The care my nan receives is always excellent. The staff are always so helpful, hard-working and friendly; even my nan says often how lovely the nurses are. Someone from my household is here every day as my nan is on her end of life journey, the staff always do so much to make her comfortable, we have been so impressed with Amberley Court Care Home.
The home was wonderful throughout my friend's final months. Kept me informed more than I could have hoped for, the home manager was wonderful! Very kind, caring and supportive. The team were always willing to go the extra mile to make sure my friend was in the best spirits given the tough time we are all enduring. Fantastic job all!
The staff are good when you ask for something, their helpful. The office staff are very friendly, and you can go to them with any problem. The manager is the very best, and there should be more people like her.
