View Full Details of Abbey Rose Care HomeApproaching my mother's 1 year anniversary, during those reflective moments, I recalled the professional, loving, genuine and sympathetic care she received during her stay at Abbey Rose. The receptionist greeted me warmly with instant reassuring answers to my many questions and that high standard of professionalism was maintained throughout - from the smiling, friendly manager, the highly professional and always available nursing managers and nurses and the carers frequently engaging and lovingly caring for my mother. All staff we encountered were friendly and professional and made great efforts to maintain my mother's dignity and also integrate with the special themed celebrations or activities for residents, health allowing. My mother arrived, and departed, in a loving dignified manner feeling loved and part of the Abbey Rose family and for that I, my family and mother's close friends will be eternally grateful.
My brother has been here a while now. He's very happy, the staff are pleasant and courteous. The environment and surroundings are always clean and tidy. Very pleased with the level of care given and happy to see how well he's taken care of and his needs met. You work to very standards, please keep up the brilliant work you're doing Abbey Rose.
I like the staff and the care provided is effective and suitable for my Dad. All the questions I asked about my dad were answered and the nurses dealt with any issues that were related to his mental and physical health.
My sister has been in Abbey Rose Care Home since October 2023, I could not be more grateful for the way the staff have looked after her. The home is spotless and perfect for her last years there. Thank you Abbey Rose, for all that you do.
My husband was cared for with dignity, nothing was too much trouble. Any questions were answered. Nurse was always available and you could ask the staff anything. Everything was clean, he wad washed and changed everyday. Was so pleased with everything.
Since becoming a resident in April Mum has settled in well as Abbey Rose is very homely, and local to where Mum has previously lived. The home is run well by the management team who have an open-door policy. The nursing and care staff are amazing and treat Mum extremely well. They are respectful, kind and compassionate. They understand Mum and get her humour. Mum's room is spacious and light. The food is endless with meals taken in her room or in the dining room it's up to her. A trolley comes around 2/3 times a day with hot drinks snacks and cakes. Her room is cleaned daily, her laundry arrives washed, ironed and hung up in her wardrobe. Placing Mum in residential care is possibly the hardest thing I have ever done. However, I sleep well and don't wake up worrying about her as I know she is safe. Mum has also stopped asking to return home as in her own words "she feels safe and secure" at Abbey Rose and there's always someone around to talk to.
The decision to place a loved one into someone else's care is not an easy one. However, we need not have worried when Dad went into Abbey Rose with the manager and his superb team. Although sadly Dad wasn't there for many weeks, he received the utmost professional care, attention, and, dare I say it love. Dad could be a handful and not particularly appreciative of what the team was trying to do for him. Not that this impacted on the care he received daily. The team worked tirelessly to keep Dad with us for as long as possible. We cannot thank them enough.
My mum was only at the home for 7 Days, but all the staff were so kind and caring, the rooms were lovely and bright and we made my mums her own with her lighting and cushions and pictures, we could not fault the home, all staff were very knowledgeable and took us as a family through every step when my mum took a turn for the worst, unfortunately, she died 7 days after moving in but I had complete confidence in the team and management that looked after her. Thank you all so much from the bottom of our hearts you made my mum's final days. I would recommend this home it made our lives happier and restored our faith in caring, lovely people.
The manager was very helpful during the admittance process and very welcoming. Everyone at Abbey Rose was so caring and kind and I cannot praise them enough for the wonderful care my dad received. I made the right choice and my mum will go to Abbey Rose when she needs more care.
All the staff could not do enough for you. They were very helpful and polite and have a great sence of humour. The rooms were very good, big telly and very clean.
Sadly my dad passed away on the 11.5.2024. I just want to say a huge thank you to all the ground floor team at Abbey Rose Care Home for looking after and caring so much for my dad whilst he was in your care. I really don't know what I would have done without all your love and support at this difficult time. I'd like to thank each and every one of the staff members that looked after him and I know he will certainly be missed by all the amazing staff at Abbey Rose Care Home.
My mum has been a resident for just over twelve months and has settled in very well. The staff are amazing and give my Mum the 24-hour care she needs. They are always so friendly and lovely to my mum and make her and us all very welcome. My dad was a resident for a few days only last year before he passed away, however in that short time the staff were amazing and so very supportive to my mum and us all when my dad passed. There are always lots of activities for the residents and they a like one big happy family. They deserve to get paid more!
My father received the best possible care when he lived at Abbey Rose, we couldn't have asked for more. All the staff were exceptional and so kind. We realised Dad had another family who loved him like we did. In his final days, we were with him and they made Dad so comfortable, and looked after him with love, and kindness, he didn't want for anything. We will be eternally grateful, thank you.
Staff are lovely and attentive, they make sure you are kept informed at all times. The accommodation is beautiful and clean. My dad only had a short stay here but loved the activities and events the staff arranged for them.
It is so hard to find a home for your loved one, let alone leave them in the care of others. But I can honestly say that my mother is extremely happy at Abbey Rose Care Home and loves her carers. They provide excellent entertainment appropriate to her level of understanding as she has dementia, and celebrate almost every national holiday, feast day and other celebrations such as Halloween and Black History Month. I love being invited to these events, and the Summer Fêtes, as the food is fantastic and we all have a lot of fun. Thank you so much for giving me peace of mind.
My aunt was moved into Abbey Rose Care Home at the end of July. We have been impressed and greatly appreciate the kindness, patience, and care that the staff have shown to her, trying their best to accommodate her needs. My aunt has struggled with adjusting to living in a care home, as she has had to deal with a lot of health issues, personal loss, and changes, but is more settled now, and I think she quite enjoys being looked after and the company. The care home manager and receptionist have been particularly helpful, providing information and support which has been invaluable to our family. The care home staff are really friendly and the place is spotless! The rooms are spacious and can be made really cosy. Highly recommended! Thank you all!
My Mum has been a resident at Abbey Rose Care Home for over three years. It is a warm and welcoming home - with very much a family atmosphere. Mum is being looked after with kindness, patience and respect, and we are very pleased with the standard of her care. We have found the staff listen to any concerns we have and respond promptly. All of the staff, from nurses, health care assistants, to admin staff know my Mum and love her - which is all I would want for her. She is content and happy, looking on this as her home now. There is a good level of activities, and they often organize entertainers There is a hairdresser who attends the home each week. There is good outside space, where annual outdoor events are held which families can attend with their loved ones. During Covid, we found the home acted within all the recommended guidelines and kept the family well informed with up to date as regulations and restrictions changed. All in all, a well run, happy home. Thank you to Laurence, and all the staff.
My mother suffers from Alzheimer’s and was not coping as she had been in and out of a couple of care homes before finding a friendly caring home. This is what Abbey Rose Care Home provides. A secure, safe environment with caring staff, who are willing to give you time and talk through any concerns you may have. It gives me great peace of mind knowing my mom is being cared for by qualified, caring personnel. I would highly recommend Abbey Rose to anyone looking for a care home.
This is just an update on our experience of the care given to our mother. Mom has been a resident virtually since Abbey Rose Care Home opened, and the standard of the care given to her has been of a consistently high standard. Mom will be 96 next month, and as her needs have increased, she is still given the same high standards of care and attention. She is always clean, tidy, beautifully made up and hair styled just as she was before needing to enter a care home. She loves her carers, who obviously love her right back and treat her with care and respect for her dignity. They often stop for a chat, and there is always laughter. Mom loves to joke with them! As a family, we are also made very welcome and kept up to date with her wellbeing. I’d like to thank all the staff, especially her designated cares, for their continuing excellent care of our mom and for allowing her to live her best and very happy life, full of fun, laughter and love.
Abbey Rose Care Home. A truly caring, rewarding and wonderful experience for my mother during the last 15 months of her long life. The nursing staff were incredible, couldn't ask for better and the administrators were always warm and helpful. For visiting family there were always welcoming smiles and a clear and helpful update on my mother's well-being, not to mention the lovely cuppa always on offer. I would recommend this beautiful care home to anyone looking for a caring home for their loved one.
