My mother went to Marian House for end of life care. Although she was only t the home for less than two weeks, and deteriorated rapidly her care at every stage was very good.

Marian House Nursing Home is a very friendly care home and takes great care of my dad. He has quite severe dementia and they do a fantastic job, with lots of love, to keep him safe, well and engaged in his life.
My dad arrived in October 2023, at 58 he was a younger resident but had a terminal illness and was unable to care for himself. He went there, not by choice, however, he learned to love and enjoy his time there, and I know he kept the staff on their toes! The staff were wonderful and because of their dedication and support in caring and looking after him, we were blessed with nearly another year with him. All of the staff were kind and attentive, if you are thinking about allowing your loved one to be cared for by the team at Marion House then know that everyone there will do their utmost to treat your loved one with dignity and care.
It was hard making the decision to put Mum into nursing care after we lost our Dad. Mum had a fall and was unable to walk. Leaving Mum at home with carers was not an option as Mum has always had people around here. It took a while for Mum to settle in and she has her moments but the care she gets from Marian House is fantastic and I know she is happy with our choice.
I cannot praise the care and compassion the staff at Marian House gave to my father-in-law and our family. He was there for a very short time and was cared for with the utmost respect, nothing was too much for any of the staff to do for him or his family. Words cannot express my gratitude and respect for all at Marian House. Thank you for making his passing so very peaceful.
My husband came and stayed at Marian House for 4 weeks of respite. He was looked after very well by all the carers and staff. I would choose Marian House again in the future if needed. Thank you.
Having cared for my wife who has Alzheimer's for many years, I was very afraid of admitting my wife into a care home. The management and all the staff at Marian House have proved that I needn't have worried so much. My wife is now getting the stimulation and continuous care that I struggled to give her. The management and staff go out of their way to ensure I am kept up to date on how my wife is settling in and also they keep an eye on me as they know I am very sad that I had put my wife into care.
The management were excellent, caring staff, kind and helpful nurses on hand if you need help. Lunch not bad, tea same each night, needs variety. They try to entertain the patients to make their stay a happy one.
I feel the care given to my mother by all staff has been exemplary. The positive attitude of all staff has certainly helped my mother settle in quickly. The food served is excellent, the frequent activities on offer are well organised. I would recommend this home to others.
My 92-year-old mother moved into Marian House at the beginning of November 2023 following the death of her husband and a subsequent stroke and heart attack. She has a lovely, bright, airy room and is very well cared for by the wonderful staff. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, and she has settled in very well after living independently and caring for my father for many years. It was a great shock to us, but we are glad that she is safe and happy. I would highly recommend Marian House based on our experience.
My brother has been a resident for over four years, having been discharged from the hospital into care at the start of the Covid 19 pandemic. He had a complex, self-neglecting medical history and could be very difficult to manage. The staff were extremely patient and adapted their care and routines to my brother's needs. It took a long time, but my brother is now well-settled and very well cared for. His medical conditions are stable, and he enjoys banter with his carers. It is such a relief to know he is safe and well cared for. The home has a happy atmosphere, and all the staff, from management to carers, back office, cleaners and caterers are extremely helpful. Thank you to all.
The staff are very friendly and caring. Can't do enough for you. Treat the residents like family and have helped settle Mom into the routine. They find time to spend with Mom if she is upset or has difficulty eating. The food looks really nice. We are really glad we chose Marian House to look after Mom.
My mother is here for end-of-life care. Everything about this care home is exceptional. All the staff are so kind, professional and polite. The home itself is very well maintained with nice decor. The interior was recently painted. My mother's room is clean and tidy with everything she needs. We were told to make the room as personal as we wished which was nice. A highly recommended care home.
My mother has been a resident at Marian House for some months now and has been cared for by the staff to a high standard. The office staff go over a beyond to help you with any concerns you may have and are very responsive to getting these resolved. Highly recommend Marian House.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Mum is looked after, and they cannot do enough to make sure she is well-kempt, fed and kept comfortable. They treat Mum with respect, and even with her dementia, they have time to talk to her. They include her in activities and try to encourage her to take part. The home is kept clean and tidy, and it is a pleasure to go into. I have the greatest respect for the carers for their patience and understanding. I’m so pleased Mum ended up there. I have no doubt she is in a wonderful home with lovely, caring people.
What more can I say other than what a happy and welcoming environment is projected by every member of staff. And there is nothing better than a smiling face to help anyone forget their troubles. I can't think of a nice place for my sister to have spent her last days. Thank you to all at Marian House.
