View Full Details of Orchard House Nursing HomeHome is warm and welcoming, in the weeks my mother has been here we can see a big improvement she now spends time out of bed all thanks to the staff and excellent activity team who get everyone involved. Well done to all the team at Orchard House.
My dad moved to Orchard House as he needed end-of-life care. In the two weeks Dad was resident, he - and our whole family - were treated so well. The staff were so positive, kind and caring. There was always someone on hand if we needed anything. The food looked lovely, and plentiful. The home has a very homely atmosphere, and seemed very well organised. At a very difficult time for the family, it was a relief to know Dad was in such good hands, and we are very thankful and appreciate all the care Dad received.
Couldn’t thank the care home enough for always involving my nan in activities and caring for her, especially one staff member in particular for always including us. My nan seems very happy and is well-loved by all members of staff.
My sister has been at Orchard House with Vascular Dementia for 13 years and has been well looked after, her Dementia deteriorated over the years, when she was first admitted to the home the hospital gave her three months she has survived covid twice which she incidentally picked up in hospital when she had pneumonia. The home puts on a number of events for the residents and their loved ones, which include singers musicians, animals, WWII Day and St Georges Day. The security is well managed and any sign of flu there is lock down this was one of the reasons very few residents were lost. from my family keep up the great work.
Well, what can I say? Mum has been at Orchard House since January 2021 following a stay in the hospital after breaking her hip and having Alzheimer's. Our hearts were broken as we promised we would never put her in a home but we knew realistically that we couldn't provide the care she needed. We had a few hiccups at first and we, as a family became attached to a number of staff who all seemed to leave. I must say, the new manager and the new staff especially the activity organisers have completely gone above and beyond to ensure the residents and their families are looked after and kept amused. Mum has deteriorated health-wise but still the care continues. Well done, keep it up.
My mom has been at Orchard House for four years. I am always made to feel welcome and love to see the interaction and care she receives from all the staff there. I know mom really enjoys the daily activities and singalongs, also relaxing in the conservatory watching the wildlife in the garden. The Namaste care and positive attitude has helped mom feel safe, relaxed and like she is at home. I am very happy with the standard of cleanliness and improvement constantly being made to make the home a nice place to live.
My mum has been a resident here for 4 years and I can say that I am very happy with her care. We did find it difficult at first as didn't want Mum to have to go into a home, there have been several changes with staff managers and new ownership. The home is lovely, Mum is loved by all the staff and the staff are very approachable, we can voice any concerns freely to the staff. The food is freshly cooked on the premises and contains a good variety of nutrition. The activity coordinators (2 of them) give the residents really good stimulation in the namaste room. They have frequent functions with good entertainment for family and residents to join in. Mum has a lovely room and is comfortable in there and has her own personal pictures on the wall. Her laundry is done by the brilliant housekeepers. I have to say that this home has improved a lot over the four years Mum has been there and now have regular staff who all know Mum's needs.
I can't thank the activities coordinator enough for the care and affection she shows my beautiful mom and another member of staff too I know she’s not long started but they're a great team. Staff always listen to us about Mom but the bond the activities coordinator has got with Mom and us too as a family is so lovely. Thank you all.
Orchard House has a warm and friendly feel about it. The staff are friendly, understanding and helpful and I am very pleased with the care provided for my parents. I know that they are in safe hands; my father receives timely nursing care when he needs it. There is an airy garden room which looks onto a lovely tree and shrub-lined garden; the home has 2 cats - nature and animals are so important for mental wellbeing. The activity team provide some great experiences for residents; there are visits from farm animals, and music sessions. My mum sometimes has her nails painted. Thank you, Orchard House staff for all your efforts!
My uncle passed away in the care of Orchard House not too long ago. We as a family are grateful for the love and care given to him during his time in the home. Nothing was too much trouble for the nurses and care staff. The home was always clean and tidy. Uncle's clothes were always washed and clean. The meals were good hearty meals which Uncle enjoyed. We could not wish for a better place for Uncle to be in his last days. The end-of-life care was amazing.
I can not fault the care that is given to my dad at Orchard House. The whole staffing team go out of their way to make my dad feel loved and part of a family setting. I have recently seen many improvements throughout the home and I look forward to seeing this continue and grow. Highly recommend for your loved ones.
My mum is in this nursing home and is being very well looked after and cared for. The staff are very friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. Mum is much happier and comfortable and settled now.
Recently, our father was a resident in their nursing home following a severe stroke. He was only there a few months before he sadly passed away. The care he received during his stay was amazing. He was treated like a man. Even in his final days, the care continued at the highest level, and we as a family received the same attention and compassion. Communication between them and us was always forthcoming. Nothing was ever too much trouble.
The residents are happy and contented living in Orchard House made possible by the care and kindness of the staff who are very approachable with any concerns we may have and encourage improvement in residents' wellbeing.
Orchard House provides outstanding care in all departments. This is based on the quality of care our mother has received over a period of 20 years! Most importantly the nursing care is exemplary. Mum has really thrived in a wonderfully caring environment where all the needs of the residents are met. We have always found it a warm and welcoming place to visit, where Mum is so happy and content with life at Orchard House. We would not hesitate to recommend this home to family and friends!

My mother is receiving palliative care at Orchard House. The staff have looked after her very well. They treat her as though she is family. Despite the staff having an extremely difficult job, they always make time for Mum and me. Ove the last few years, Mum has been in a few care homes and I can honestly say that she is so much happier here. I would definitely recommend Orchard House.
The management and staff of this home are exceptional. The care and love shown to my father, mother in law and now my mother is very moving and we value it enormously. We have never seen anything but kind and attentive focus on their needs from the management, nursing staff, carers, cleaners and catering staff; the entire team has a caring ethos. The food looks tasty and nutritious and all physical needs are monitored and met effectively. The Namaste philosophy ensures that the individual is treated with the utmost respect and that carers focus on their spiritual needs. The staff and management there really are the best of people and we are genuinely privileged to know them. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to any family; their relatives will be safe and beautifully cared for.
