My mom has been living in Brooklyn House's Dementia Unit for almost a year. The staff ensure mom is kept warm, clean and well-fed and most of all, safe. It is a minefield when seeking a suitable home for a loved one but we feel that Perry Locks has been an excellent choice for us. Sometimes there are areas that could do with attention to detail regarding cleaning up spills, etc, on chairs and floors, but overall the majority of the staff are very attentive to the needs of the residents and the nursing staff are always on hand to speak to. A big plus is how quickly the doctor is called out when necessary and any medication is prescribed.
My mother-in-law was very well looked after, the care she was given was exceptional. The staff were very caring and treated her with dignity. All staff very professional and compassionate. The staff were very good, especially during her last few days, nothing was too much trouble.
My mother is a resident at Perrywell. She has been here since 2023 and has been cared for by a very competent and caring team. She is looked after very well, often the team have quizess, Bingo etc., and she is never bored! The nursing team are incredible, Mum has had seizures in her time here and the nursing team have dealt with her so professionally.
Our Family member stayed at Perry Locks care home for three years and six months and was well cared for. The staff always had time to talk to me to explain how my aunt was doing. The bedroom was always tidy and clean and the communal areas were always welcoming and well laid out. There was always something going on for the residents to keep them active and involved especially around major events throughout the year. The management team were excellent throughout the time my aunt was staying at Perry Locks. They were very informative and helpful with any concerns we had. A great overall care home.
My father-in-law is generally satisfied with the care he receives from most staff. Whenever he has had a problem they have been sorted out quickly. Good communication with my father-in-law's relatives. Nurse in charge of Lawrence House is first class. She listens to our concerns and deals with them promptly. Our major concern is the state of carpet in room 35 which we have raised several times. We have been told that it is to be replaced.
Majority of staff are pleasant, polite with the exclusion of a few, e.g., snappy, impatient and ignorant. Which is no good at all for a carer. They put the rest to shame.
Overall, everything is ok. They looked after my mother until her final day. They are looking after my father.
The staff are always friendly and welcoming. My father is always well looked after. There are always activities going on to keep the residents active and happy. The staff work very hard and are excellent with all the residents. They do an amazing job.
The service at Perry Locks is great. The staff are very attentive to patients and very knowledgeable. One criticism is the food. Dietary requirements need to be met for diabetics. Sugary foods need to be more limited for those with diabetes. The pudding offered after every meal is excessive even for someone without any conditions. You wouldn't give an alcoholic in rehab a bottle of whiskey, why would this be any different?
Good experience now that my mom has settled in. I wish the care staff had more available time to chat with my mom as she is bed-bound and rarely comes out of her room. The food isn't the best, room for improvement. Although, they do make my mom a lovely omelette which she likes.
Relative has settled well and has formed lovely friendships with many of the staff. Relative eats very well and enjoys her meals.
Our whole family is very impressed with the wonderful care given to Mum. The staff are lovely and kind. The food is great and the home is relaxed, calm, and spotless. Thank you all so much, it means a lot to us.
All the staff are friendly and always busy. Make visitors feel very welcome. Always a pleasant atmosphere. My aunty is happy here so that pleases me.
I've been visiting two friends on a weekly basis for many months, sadly we lost one of them in March of this year. My other friend is still with us and being cared for and still has her usual spark. We have found the staff to be very helpful and supportive in many ways and carry out their duties to the best of their ability.
Staff overall good, caring and kind. Management knowledgeable and caring. Needed some GP contact which was arranged with speed and efficiently.
Overall my experience at the home is good. My mom seems happy, is treated with the respect and dignity I would expect. Range of food choices is good. Social events and activities are held on a regular basis which is good for residents to keep their minds active. I feel I can speak to staff and carers about my mom's care and voice any concerns.
