View Full Details of Robert Harvey HouseOur mum was a resident at Robert Harvey House for nearly 9 weeks before she departed us forever. During this period, she was cared for 24/7 by such a dedicated group of people with the utmost respect, dignity, love and care, which goes above and beyond their duty. An equal level of respect was extended to all the family and visitors any time of day, infectious smiles, made us feel most welcome. Their statement in reception "Our residents do not live in our workspace, we work in their home" are not only mere words on a wall, but a profound living example. Our experience made us feel as if they had adopted our mum, and our mum adopted them as her daughters. On behalf of all family members, I would like to sincerely thank so much all the staff and look upon them as angels in disguise. This has left a lovely experience in all of our hearts and we will tap into it to fill a big void.
Thank you very much for the care you gave my mom in her final month. The staff were always so nice and friendly. My mom seemed very happy and at peace. I would highly recommend this care home. Continue to keep up the good work you are all doing.
We have had a really good experience with Robert Harvey House. They've cared for my parent very much as an individual, and communication has been easy and thoughtful. A few times they have gone the extra mile and that has made a real difference. The staff team are focused on creating a sense of community. I would definitely recommend it.
Superb care of a very high standard. My parents have varied needs and they are given the opportunity to live as fully as they can in a safe and welcoming, homely environment. There are lots of great quality activities for them to join in with, throughout the week, with a great sense of community. They also have the option of relaxing in their own space. They are listened to and the staff are exceptionally good at keeping us informed about their wellbeing. Thank you to everyone at Robert Harvey House!
I have visited on a number of occasions and always found the staff welcoming. The taff always check on the wellbeing of residents whether in their room or in the living room areas. As visitors, we are kept informed of the current status of my mother in law and she is well looked after. Keep up the good work.
My mother has been a resident for the past nine months. We have found Robert Harvey House to provide excellent care in a professional and compassionate manner. The standard of hygiene has been exceptionally high, and the staff, in our opinion, are well-trained, personable, and helpful. Robert Harvey House provides a number of social activities, which the residents can participate in.
Having spent the last 6-8 months looking for a care home to give my sister and her husband some respite from caring for our parents, we were getting pretty desperate. There is such little provision for couples, and we saw some swanky places where staff were so anxious and over-managed and frankly not very kind to residents. Robert Harvey House was a godsend. Relaxed, kind and thorough, staff here take professional pride in their work, and residents are respected and looked after socially and psychologically as well as physically. Not only this, but you'll see how imaginatively the residents are cared for; there's a sweet shop with a freezer full of ice cream for residents to help themselves! It was the animals who really swung it as far as our parents were concerned though. Two sweet little goats, and a flock of concerned and sometimes obstreperous parrots engage with everyone on the same gentle and trusting terms. You can see how Robert Harvey House gained its CQC rating for efficacy.
Mum moved to Robert Harvey House for respite care in March 2023 and never wanted to leave again. What a fabulous place! Staff were excellent - from the manager and admin team to the maintenance team, the activities team and most of all the carers. They took such good care of Mum and made her last year a very special one. Even though her health was declining (at 94 years!) she maintained a great quality of life through the way she was looked after. We never had a single day when we weren't happy to leave her in the care of her extended family at Robert Harvey House - and we were all made to feel like a part of that family too. Thank you.
My Aunt was admitted to Robert Harvey House in November 2018 aged 91. She received excellent care and was nursed back to health following both Pneumonia and COVID. At all times she was treated with respect and dignity. Staff throughout the home spent time with her, they knew her as an individual and met her needs accordingly thus contributing to her contentment. After 5 plus years her final days were dealt with compassionately. Robert Harvey House is a very well-managed, friendly, welcoming environment which I would recommend without hesitation.
The facilities, staff and management are of the highest standard. I have nothing but admiration for the kindness and care shown to my wife in her final days.
My father moved into the home on 1 December 2023. Sadly he only lived there for 7 weeks. My parents decided that it was the home for him within minutes of arriving to look around. All of the staff were very welcoming and friendly from the outset and whenever I visited. My father was very well looked after whilst he was there and when he had to be taken to the hospital someone stayed with him until he was admitted to a ward. I cannot fault the care he received during his stay there or how we were looked after when he died.
I was a resident at Robert Harvey Care Home for respite care from October 23rd to November 14th, suffering from a broken leg. On my arrival, I was warmly greeted by senior staff and carers and swiftly escorted to my room. There I was frequently visited by senior staff who were keen that my every need was seen to. The nursing staff regularly assessed me and medication was carefully monitored. Equally the caring staff were professional and caring, cheerful and helpful. I was very impressed with the care and dignified treatment the more challenging residents received. The home has a cheerful and peaceful atmosphere with lots of entertainment and activities. I highly recommend this care home.
My wife and I are friends of a respite resident who spent two weeks recovering after her broken leg. We were her regular visitors and found all facilities second to none. Also, the staff were in the same category.
The care home is modern, clean and in a good, quiet location. The staff are friendly, courteous and helpful on all occasions. Most importantly, the staff treat the residents with dignity and compassion.
My father has been in Robert Harvey House Care Home for several months. His room is spacious and clean. He loves it here and is very happy. I can't praise the staff enough, caring, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Food is of a high standard and plentiful. Activities are done so everyone can join in. Beautiful gardens and outlook. The manager's door is always open and you are supported fully with any concerns, help is there whenever it is needed. I would sincerely like to thank everyone for what they do, making it such a happy place. They are outstanding in their care and compassion.
My stepdad has been in this home since August 2022, he is very happy here and all the staff are so caring. There are plenty of activities for him to join in and they also have people to come in to entertain residents. The home is managed very well, nothing is any trouble. If you have a query it's sorted immediately. I am very happy with the service that is provided.
This is an excellent nursing home, kept very clean and pleasant to visit. Relatives are made to feel at home and invited to take part in the wonderful activity days regularly put on for residents with singing, food and drink. The manager encourages a home-from-home feel to Robert Harvey House. The palliative care for my father was second to none; he was made to feel as comfortable as possible and was accommodated with requests as much as physically possible, even to the extent of providing a beer when it was the only thing he fancied drinking. When my father died, the manager was very sensitive and informed my brother and me so that we could inform our elderly mother ourselves so she was not on her own when the news was broken. We were still welcomed to the nursing home after the funeral, and our mother was told she could always visit. The staff are amazing, caring and kind. I cannot recommend this nursing home enough.
My wife has been in Robert Harvey House for four weeks. She has Parkinson’s Disease and Cerebellar Ataxia alongside other problems and since August 2022 this has been her fourth home for an EAB Rehab placement after hospital admissions and this home has been far and above the standard of the previous three. We, as a family never wanted my wife admitted to a home and she herself has always asked expectedly to come home which sadly now seems unachievable but here she felt settled and even stated that if she needed to be in a home then she would be more than happy to stay here as she has improved and felt settled, she has been cared for superbly by the caring staff and attentive doctor who often went above and beyond their duty. The manager/admin staff and the nurses/care staff were all very kind and helpful and along with the kitchen/domestic staff all made this home a pleasant stay and have welcomed all members of my family whilst visiting for which we will always be grateful.
We found all the staff and management at Robert Harvey House caring, friendly and supportive. My mother, who didn’t fully understand why she needed to be in a nursing home, was always treated with compassion and dignity, and the care staff always made time to talk to us in detail about her needs. For us, Robert Harvey House was an oasis of care and clarity in a desert of doubt and confusion.
The decision for my mother to become a resident happened the moment I entered the care home. As I was shown around I became even more convinced this was the right place for her. My mum has settled and is now accepting Robert Harvey as her home. Only recently she asked what road does she live on. I cannot thank the staff enough for helping her to settle and come to terms that she can no longer adequately care for herself. The varied activities she can access and the animals are a huge plus.
