Cannot fault this amazing care home. ALL the staff are amazing- caring, kind, patient, helpful, friendly and polite. Nothing is too much effort, and they always smile and say hello. The food is amazing - family are welcome to join their resident for lunch and service is restaurant quality. I really wouldn't look anywhere else.
9th January, 2025. I have just returned home following a respite care stay at Methchley Manor and I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the outstanding care, support and warm friendship which I received from everyone, led by the admissions advisor. In our communications, I found the admissions advisor a wonderfully sensitive, caring, attentive, generous, wise and committed person with a welcoming smile and a gentleness of spirit as well as a true professional working for the good of all. And I think her values define the environment which I found to be one of a harmonious working together. Also, I found the general approach very enlightened, in that while every support is on hand, residents are also encouraged to be independent, as and when they can, this promotes a sense of respect and freedom. So, I would like to express my deep gratitude to the admissions advisor and to each person for their care and warm friendship.
My father is a resident at Metchley Manor and I could not be happier with the care he is receiving. I was concerned that he may not settle well, but the opposite has been the case - he settled in very quickly and is enjoying the range of activities on offer. The whole family has been made welcome on our visits - I've even brought my dog, who was very popular with several residents! Dad's room is lovely - extremely comfortable and well-appointed. The entire building is always spotlessly clean and fresh. The bistro area is a great bonus and the wide variety of activities and outings is very impressive. It feels like a real community. For Dad's birthday, we booked the private dining room for a family lunch. We were really well looked after and enjoyed excellent food in beautiful surroundings. I visit frequently and am always made to feel welcome. The staff are wonderful - every one of them is friendly, caring and professional.
The care, kindness are just outstanding. From the admin to carers. Thank you for all you do. My mom leads a full life and is consulted on all matters related to her well-being. Her room is lovely bright and very clean. The food is as good as a hotel.
My mom is a resident at Metchley Manor, since she has been there (from July 2024) she is happy and content. We don't feel worried about her anymore. And when we visit it is a beautiful setting and mom is happy to see us. She walks us to the outside area if the weather is nice, and we sit and play dominoes, cards or games, it is an enjoyable experience.
Metchley Manor has totally fulfilled my expectations for a top-class care home. The care staff are caring, helpful and very compassionate. The daily activities are way beyond my expectations. It is obvious that they are fully cognizant of the need to stimulate clients and provide activities that are pleasurable. Particular things to note are that animals are part of the daily experience, not just the resident cats but visiting donkeys etc. Further entertainment is provided that is not only in line with clients likely interests e.g. singing, music, and current affairs but has a link to world events. During the Olympics, an ex-Olympian was invited to meet the clients. Clients' health needs are carefully monitored by the onsite staff but are overseen by medical-trained nurses and doctors, together with ancillary services of podiatrists if required. It would be remiss not to mention the food. Quality is excellent and the presentation is top-class.
My aunt has been at Metchley Manor since the end of July. The care has been second to none, outstanding staff and facilities for the first time in a long time my Aunt feels safe. All the staff are great it would be doing a disservice to point people out because they are all good at their job, the care is outstanding the environment is bright and airy and a pleasant place to be. Every resident is treated with respect and dignity. On behalf of my brother and I, we are so happy with our choice for our aunt to be happy in whatever time she has left.
A lovely care home with wonderful staff and facilities. Carers are kind and considerate and treat residents with dignity. Dining is similar to restaurant style with a good choice of meals. A good choice of activities to choose from. Thanks for looking after my Dad.
This is my second set of relatives that have been at the home and I think that says a lot about the quality of service here at Metchley Manor. The staff are always very friendly and helpful even to us when we visit as well as the residents. The food is amazing and we have eaten there on several occasions and are always surprised at the quality and presentation of the food. Overall we feel that our relatives are always in safe hands.
We have been very impressed with the level of care Mum has received over the last six months and have witnessed a significant improvement in her health and well-being in that time. The quality of the wonderfully compassionate care team has been a big factor in this as well as the regular meals of high quality food, the regular activities and entertainments laid on and the wholly positive environment with friendly greetings from everyone in the home, not just the care team but from all the support services too. This has been the right move for Mum and at the right time. The whole family says thank you, Metchley Manor. You are brilliant!
Metchley Manor have been fantastic in caring for both my parents for the last few months. They have done everything and more to make their transition into the care environment as easy for them as possible. I cannot thank them enough for the last few months.
My mum has just celebrated her 100th Birthday at Metchley Manor and what an amazing day it was. The staff went out of their way to ensure her day was a very special one. She was joined by family, friends, residents and colleagues for a delicious afternoon tea including a cake made by the chef which was simply beautiful. The team at Metchley Manor did us proud and I would have no hesitation in highly recommending it.
Metchley Manor meets all our expectations as a family as we are reassured that our mom is safe and secure. The food and care is excellent and the staff go out of their way to make sure our mom is happy.
When having to choose a care home for my father we had to do so quickly due to his rapidly declining health. The team immediately set my mind at rest as to how quickly they could accommodate Dad and within a matter of days we were able to move him, initially for respite care, but he is now a permanent resident. Our experience since Dad has been there has been superb. The staff are incredibly caring not just towards Dad but also us as we’re dealing with his ongoing failing health. We feel he’s getting the right specialist support for his needs and he is being well cared for and staff are proactive in identifying what needs to be addressed as and when his needs arise. On top of that the facilities are excellent and the food is second to none! I would highly recommend Metchley Manor. The peace of mind it has brought us as a family is allowing us to enjoy the time we have left with Dad and we all feel supported and cared for by the wonderful staff who work there.
This care home is wonderful. My aunt was poorly on arrival, gaining weight with excellent food and care. Staff always interact with residents and identify the activities that suit to each, monthly programme of activities interactive and stimulating. The hygiene of the home and residents is impeccable. A beautiful coffee area where you can have a full range of drinks/cakes. Meals, what I describe as classy restaurant with diet requirements even linen cloths/serviettes. Visiting recently with relatives from Holland in the private dining room chose from the residents' lunch menu, homemade soup, seafood risotto and dessert, perfect. Her room is beautiful, spacious, tastefully decorated, own bathroom. Care and clinical care are very good and you can always speak to a member of the teams to discuss your loved one, they do what they say they will and action concerns. So happy my aunt is here. If I were to be in a care home, this is where I would want to be, I have not visited anywhere like this.
Mum has been a resident at Metchley Manor Care Home since April 2023. As a family, we knew it was the right thing to move Mum but still, not an easy decision. The director of community relations made the process of getting all the paperwork done as painless as possible. Much easier for us as we have power of attorney! A welcome information pack would have been useful, including information about meal times, Wi-Fi codes, a bit of a run down about staff members and sample menu, information about the cafe area being help yourself etc. however I do live three hours away and my brother is local so he may have had all that information! When I visit, Mum is always clean and tidy and all members of staff know her name and chat to her when we are walking around the home. The dementia coordinator is excellent at keeping in touch with her medical needs and telling us what the doctor has said, medication changes etc. The home is clean and great, they have a minibus so Mum can still get out and about, walks, meals, theatre etc. Mum is now safe and well cared for and that is important!
We needed to find a home for respite care for my mother as she had had a fall and we were going on a holiday that week. The staff at Metchley Manor were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Mum has now decided to stay permanently, giving me a lot of reassurance over her care and well-being.
My friend transferred from a different care home and this was undoubtedly a daunting time for her. However, I was with her as she moved in and any reservations were soon quelled as her welcome could not have been warmer. The building itself is welcoming and you walk into somewhere with the feeling of a hotel with a lounge, coffee area, large dining room and sweeping staircase. The member of the management team was very kind, understanding and encouraging and both on that day and since she has spent a lot of time with my friend getting to know her as a person and her needs. The caregivers are all kind and attentive. Her room is attractive and, as throughout the building, the standard of cleanliness is good. The meals - always very important to the residents - are of a very good standard and very well presented in a very spacious dining room. The menu has good choices. There is a range of activities to choose from and an impressive selection of outings suiting a mixture of tastes.
Dad moved into Metchley Manor only a couple of weeks ago and from the beginning it has exceeded all our expectations. It’s a beautiful, clean place with a very homely feel and everyone is so caring and kind. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone goes out of their way to help the residents and their family. Dad regularly joins in with the organised activities and trips and it’s so re-assuring for the family to know that dad is happy and very well cared for. This place is a true gem!
