View Full Details of Sovereign HouseHaving arrived here with my wife on 6/5/2024, we both quickly settled in to routine and both being bedridden were delighted to find that we had been given rooms next to each other on ground floor, this, I am able to be placed in a wheelchair and transferred to wife's room every afternoon, considering our ages (85/89) we both feel that we are in a situation where we can relax and enjoy life. Over the past month, I have been happy to recommend elderly friends to seriously consider Sovereign House, if ever in need of care.
I have been here almost 2 years and am being looked after very well by the care staff who are polite and very good at their jobs. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I feel safe in this care home, and content.
All the staff are so friendly and helpful and the love and care for my grandad is so warming to see. Plus all the activities they have on are amazing for all the residents to enjoy let alone my grandad.
Not a great experience - leaving a paralysed patient with buzzer on the floor no clip to keep it attached and no one comes when calling for help. Sat in bed for 2 weeks before offered any movement to sit in a chair. Not bathed for 3 weeks after arrival. Food repetitive. Catheter left to fill the bag in the bed, not on a holder at the side. Patient lost all will to eat or live, yet care home suggested she had put weight on. Carers not very gentle. Not attentive towards patients, no interaction. When in pain told to ring 111 or 999 and do it ourselves. Reported complaint to management and no response after 2 weeks (before Christmas 2024) in fact still waiting on a written reply now after 6 weeks. Uncaring.
Very rarely have a beef dinner with roast. The variety of food is minimal.
Very rarely have nice roast dinners with fresh veg. Needs more variety with respect to food.
Friendly staff offered refreshments and were very professional. A good well-maintained surroundings.
Since my mum resided at Sovereign House she has been a very happy person. She is well cared for and has a lovely room and good food. The staff are very thoughtful and considerate, both carers and admin. It is a cheerful place and a pleasure to visit. Any concerns are always addressed immediately ie- a recent cataract operation for my mum. Excellent service!
The staff are lovely, very kind and helpful. Communication with residents and family is good.
I found the staff very welcoming and helpful. I'm very pleased how my husband is cared for.
Sovereign House went over and above in the care of my mum. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they did all they could to make Mum feel safe and comfortable in her stay and her team was terrific.
My husband has been a resident here since December 2023. His care has been exemplary at all times. The staff have all been caring and professional at all times. I have been kept informed regularly about his welfare. I am very pleased with all aspects of his time at Sovereign House.
The staff are very friendly and approachable. Any queries are dealt with efficiently. The surroundings are very clean and my mum's room is cleaned every day. Nurses are very experienced and I feel comfortable leaving my mum. Any concerns they have they call me to let me know. There is tea and coffee for the family to help themselves which is in the dining room.
I have always been made welcome by the staff when I visit. If anything is required and I mention it to the staff, it is always seen to. The only thing that may be improved is that the woman I visit is bedbound and she says she sees no one except for meals and care needs. She'd like the staff to chat with her at other times. I realise the staff are under pressure but this is one theme that continually rises during my visits.
My sister has been very well looked after since January 2024. She always looks clean and tidy and her room is spotless. Staff are always polite and smiling and I consider my sister to be very lucky to spend her final days here.
My husband spent one night in respite care which should have been 6 weeks. He returned from dialysis needing oxygen. He could not alert the care staff so he phoned me. I phoned the home but there was no reply. I was forced to call an ambulance from my home. 3 hours later the ambulance arrived. It was a very stressful experience for both of us. The home smelt. Spilt food was not cleared up for days.
My mother has been at SH since December of 2023 to present April 2024. She has been provided with excellent care. The staff are very caring and compassionate and became our extended family. They are prompt and attend to her every need. Staff go above and beyond to take care of the residents. SH made a very difficult time in my parents' lives bearable. My mother feels cared for and safe. A high level of care was provided and kept family informed and involved. It’s been a very pleasant experience.
Our family is very pleased with the care our mother is receiving. We feel she is safe, and her needs are taken care of. The staff are friendly and keep us informed of our mother's health and needs.
My relative was discharged from hospital to Sovereign House and after 6 weeks his care needs and wishes were reviewed. He had found that he felt much safer and happier with carers around him day and night. Despite formerly living in a warden-controlled complex, the social worker felt he would benefit from a care setting. He was lucky to be offered a place at Sovereign House where he had already made positive relationships with staff and some of the other residents. He loves his room and has been promised it will be redecorated. His health is relatively stable at present, and he has been able and encouraged to contribute positively to the life of the community. He is happy to live there and we are grateful for the care he receives and seek to support the staff in caring for his needs. A lovely environment.
Since my nan has been at the home, the staff have gone above and beyond to make my nan welcome. The rooms are lovely and clean, Nan enjoys her meals and being Irish (my nan), they are good at making cups of tea and bringing biscuits. As a family, we can't thank Sovereign House enough for making a difficult time more bearable. They continue to meet my nan's medical needs and are quick to contact us when concerned. Thank you Sovereign House, you mean a lot to us!
