View Full Details of Oaklands Care HomeMy mom was a resident for the last 5 months of her life. Mom had dementia and was very poorly when she moved to Oaklands, the staff were amazing and made her comfortable, safe and well cared for. With encouragement from the staff, Mom spent her days in the lounge and loved it. As a family, we cannot thank Oaklands staff enough for the peace of mind you gave to us. I am sure we had Mom for longer due to the care she was given.
Mom was at Oaklands for end-of-life care. From the outset, she was treated with love, dignity and respect. Without exception, the staff at Oaklands are wonderful people. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The manager and her team of nurses and carers are experienced, kind and caring, and attended constantly to her changing needs. The managers and admin staff were supportive, kind and always willing to help. The general feeling at the home was warm and inviting, with a well-led and professional approach. Our family would like to offer our heartfelt thanks for enabling Mom to pass peacefully, comfortably with dignity.
As a family, we have struggled with the transition of our family member having to leave home. Oaklands made the transition so much easier. They supported us as a family to feel welcome and heard. They have allowed my grandad to be cared for properly mentally and physically. They offer a range of activities to enjoy and the staff are lovely. We are all very grateful.
I bring my friend to visit her partner weekly. It has such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Every member of staff shows such kindness and compassion to the residents - be it serving drinks, having a friendly, smiley chat, helping to move him to sit comfortably with us - even outside. The manager does an amazing job maintaining such high standards. Thank you so very much, we know he is in such good hands. He has fun joining activities and looks so well due to your diligent care.
Excellent service. Very able and caring staff. Comfortable lounge.
A huge thank you to the attentive and patient care staff who looked after my brother temporarily at Oaklands from March to November 2023 after a fall hospitalised him in February. You took time to understand his MS, adapted your care with compassion and patience and I know he’s not always easy to look after! He put on weight and became healthier thanks to your care. He finally seemed a little happier and I treasure some happy moments there with him. Staff were always careful to inform me of any news or incident. He is now in an extra care living community. Thank you so much to all in the Oaklands team. I am most grateful for your work. I commend Oaklands as a compassionate, clean and caring home.
Excellent staff, they were golden to my wife, right to the very end. A big thank you to all the staff. Excellent place, so clean and tidy, kept checking on my wife all the time and made me welcome as well.
I must say a big thank you to all the staff at Oaklands Care Home. My dad was only there for 2 weeks, transferred from hospital for end of life care, and sadly passed away on the 15th of September 2023. Although he was only there for a short while, the care he received in that time was excellent, and due to the circumstances, we were able to visit him any time which was great. It was the calmest we had seen my dad in months. He seemed happy there, which was a relief to us all. Thanks again.
So grateful for the care and attention given to my mum. She was only with them for a short period as she was end-of-life care, but in that time, they showed a great deal of compassion with high standards. I hope to remain a friend of the home and join them for activities from time to time. I felt part of a big family whenever I visited. Kindness and respect. Thank you.
Mum was transferred to Oaklands from the hospital. Sadly she only remained with us for a week. However, the staff at Oaklands ensured that Mum and I had the best experience possible under the circumstances. All staff at the home were kind and caring. Communication between staff was exceptional. I am happy that Mum experienced the best nursing care possible. The staff ensured that what was a very difficult time for Mum and our family was made as comfortable and positive as possible.
My mother was transferred to Oaklands at the beginning of January. My mother has improved beyond our wildest dreams. She wasn't eating, was asleep most of the time and had no interest in anything. She's now eating a little, is out of bed for the first time in months and seems to be enjoying her life again. We couldn't ask for a more caring or homely place for her to be.
My partner was in Oaklands care home from 02/08/22 to 7/12/22. I am very grateful for the care in the last months of his life.
My Mom was admitted to Oaklands Care Home on the 22nd September 2022 and sadly passed away there on 8th October 2022. We could not have wished for better care for her. All of the staff were so attentive to her needs on a 24/7 basis. Top quality care provided by all of the team. We were so lucky to have found this nursing home run very efficiently by such a superb team. Thank you so much to everyone.
Oaklands has been an extremely kind and caring home for my late aunt. She was treated with dignity and kindness. She had stage four cancer and mental health issues. Despite being challenging she was extremely well supported and cared for. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Though only there for a few weeks my sister received the greatest care from the friendly, efficient and very caring staff.
I have only visited my brother 3 times but I can already see that he is being cared for with dignity and respect. The staff are friendly, efficient and high standards of both personal and emotional care are given. The home has a lovely friend's atmosphere and is spotless. I am reassured that my brother could not be in a better place. Well done Oaklands, keep up the good work.
My Dad came to Oaklands Nursing Home from hospital. His care has been excellent all the staff and management are helpful and caring. I am so glad my Dad is at Oaklands his face lights up when the Staff come in to see him. His room is a good size and always clean and tidy.
A very caring, professional and empathetic experience was received from all staff and management, making a very distressing time much more bearable. My wife was treated with dignity, love and attention throughout her stay and as a family we wish to thank staff for their wonderful support, which was often above and beyond the call of duty.
My Nan has been a resident at Oaklands Nursing Home since June 2021. I can hand on heart say that the care is second to none. I can be reassured and sleep at night knowing that my Nan is getting exceptional care. She is very happy and never regrets making the move. The management and carers are very approachable and friendly and keep me updated on any changes. I would highly recommend this very caring nursing home.
My father was well cared for during his 2 years at Oaklands. Visiting was difficult due to Covid, but when we could visit, he generally looked well. The change of owners was a difficult time, as we didn't know a lot of the staff. Things like hair cuts and nail cutting services slipped, and we continually had to ask for this to be done. When my fathers final day arrived, staff were kind and considerate, although there was no contact afterwards which would have been nice.
