View Full Details of Wyncroft House Care CentreWhen the residential home, where my mother had lived for over a year, felt that they could no longer meet her needs, I was advised that a nursing home may be a better fit. My father-in-law had been at Wyncroft some years previously and had received superb care so I approached them to see if they could accommodate my mum. From the onset, the care she has received has been exemplary. She was welcomed as part of the family and it feels as though she is "at home" rather than in just a care home. My mum can be a bit of a character and awkward at times, but the staff care for her with patience and humour. She has made friends amongst the other residents and really enjoys taking part in the many activities that are organised. As her daughter, I feel a weight has been lifted off me as my mum is happy and content and I feel in very safe hands.
My mother was sent to Wyncroft House on the first of January 2020 for end-of-life care. She passed away on the 28th of February 2024. She had nothing but praise for the staff that looked after her, and I cannot thank them enough for the love and care they showed her over the four years she was in their care. She was safe and looked after, and she often said it was the best thing that she was sent there, so a massive thank you to all the staff for looking after my mom for so long.
The care given to my aunty was outstanding by all staff, nothing was too much trouble. She was treated with dignity and respect, she was shown compassion when she became unwell. The support was also given to us as a family. There were daily activities for those who wanted to take part in them. The care given to my aunty at the end of life was excellent. I would recommend this care home to anyone. We would, again, like to thank you all.
My mom became a resident at Wyncroft House Care Centre, Kingswinford in May 2022. She has been treated with dignity and respect and shown compassion when she became unwell at the end of June with a pre-existing condition. The staff are so good with the care and support they provide, not just to residents but to families too. Nothing is too much trouble. Mom chose not to go into hospital when given the choice and we are so pleased that she stayed at Wyncroft House as her care was superior to the care she would have received elsewhere. No one wants to end their days anywhere other than their own home if given a choice, but I would certainly recommend this home to anyone in need. From the daily care given, including the activities provided for those that want to take part, to the nursing care, and the gentleness, care, consideration, dignity and compassion shown to mom when she was receiving palliative care was always exemplary. It's the little things that make a difference and they are present here.
In the few days my mother received end of life care here, she was treated with respect and dignity and made comfortable in her last few hours.
"Never judge a book by it's cover" are the words that come to mind when I think of Wyncroft. When I first walked into the home I felt that in certain places the decor and furniture were a little tired but oh my goodness me the staff were certainly very lively and friendly!! My Dad is greatly respected and receives excellent care in "The Lodge." It has a homely and happy atmosphere with very caring, approachable, professional and flexible staff who have an excellent understanding of dementia. They made a huge effort to get to know my Dad's personality, background, likes and dislikes as soon as he became a resident. They use successful strategies to keep him contented and on an even keel; allowing him to make his own choices and use their utmost efforts to fit into his routine rather than expecting him to adhere to theirs. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They have given me tremendous support. My Dad and I are made to feel a huge part of this lovely extended family.
