View Full Details of Ardenlea Court Care HomeWonderful staff at all levels. Considering at offset I only had up to 7 weeks before expected death and after 9 months of 'miracle' working am now recovered enough to return home, supporting my 'independent' self. Thanks to the caring, friendly staff. Thank you.
Thank you Ardenlea Court Care Home for the exceptional care that you gave to my mother during the final 6 months of her life. Mom was treated by all the staff with love, care and dignity. She was loved and cared for as if she were related to her carers and this gave me the chance to be a daughter to her again. Thank you all.
My mother-in-law went to live in the dementia unit at Ardenlea Court Care Home in August. She settled into life there and was happy and well looked after. However, it was the impact that Ardenlea had on my wife (her daughter) which was the most heartening. After being a carer my wife was able to be a daughter again because her mother was so well cared for in the home, her relationship with her mother was once again happy.
Very helpful manager, got my Mom a place asap for respite care, she is now living there permanently. Carers and nurses are all very helpful and friendly, admin team are very pleasant but all new in their roles so I felt a bit lost to start with.
My father has been at Ardenlea as a temporary resident for a few months - our first experience of care homes and I have nothing but praise for the staff and facilities there. All the staff and management are very approachable and friendly and from the interactions I've seen with my dad during visiting, they are incredibly kind and patient to the residents. My dad was admitted to hospital with an infection recently which was quickly spotted and actioned by the staff there. I can't thank them enough for all they've done for my dad and our family in supporting him so well. Thank you to everyone at Ardenlea. You are all amazing.
It was the second time that my late mom stayed at Ardenlea. Mom was sadly diagnosed as terminally ill. We tried to manage at home, until mobility deteriorated and it became impossible. My mom was willing to do this, but only if she could go to Ardenlea. She would not consider any other. Mom went here Jan 24 and was very dependent as was now bed-bound and getting progressively worse with terminal illness. The whole team here is outstanding, all the nursing staff, carers, catering, maintenance, social/entertainment their care, kindness and support is beyond words. The personal connection to my mom is something I will treasure forever. Additionally, they supported me and the wider family up to and including my mom passing away. The respect, dignity and genuine care and kindness was wonderful. The complete team here ensured that my mom's last months/weeks were as good as they could make it. I will be forever grateful to the team for being so kind, caring and compassionate. Thank you everyone.
After spending several weeks in hospital, it was a happy experience when my husband spent time in Ardenlea. All the staff made us both feel welcome. They worked tirelessly supporting him with nursing care, assisting him with mobility issues, and always making time for a chat, which is invaluable, and they were cheerful and caring. As a visitor, I was always made welcome and kept up to date regarding treatment, medications, food intake, etc. Thank you to all the staff.
My friend has been in Ardenlea Court Care Home for over twelve months now and has been looked after beautifully. She doesn’t like to socialise with other residents but enjoys the visiting animals greatly. The staff always take the dogs to her room for cuddles, she always remembers to inform me of these occasions even though she has dementia. Thank you to all the staff.
My mother was discharged from hospital into the care of Ardenlea Court Care Home in January 2023. Ardenlea is our first experience of a care home but the care my mother receives means that we have not needed to look elsewhere. A high level of attention is given to residents by the many staff who don't seem to pass a resident’s room without looking in to say hello and check all is ok. The GP surgery and the hospital are on the doorstep. There are many interactive activities that ensure residents are stimulated and involved with their environment. There is a hairdresser, a coffee shop, a bar and nice gardens; some rooms have French door access to a patio. Excellent meals are supplemented with pastries, beverages and all the treats you would have if you were at home. The management team are responsive and deals, speedily, with any queries we may raise. My mother is happy, safe and well cared for at Ardenlea Court: we would like to extend our thanks to those who helped to create this environment.
My father has had to be admitted to the care home due to the onset of dementia. He has always been extremely independent, and we were really worried that at the age of 92, he would not settle at all. In reality, thanks to the exceptional care and service provided by the staff at Ardenlea, the transition has been relatively smooth, and he is now settled and happy in his new environment. The activities offered and care provided has made a huge difference to his state of mind. The last few months have been very traumatic for him and for us, his family, but thanks to everyone at Ardenlea Court, the transition has been smoother than we could ever have expected. We are so grateful for all that has been done for him. Thanks.
I have been here for a few months now after being transferred from hospital and right from the off the staff were extremely kind and caring. The food is lovely and nothing is ever too much trouble. I honestly don't know what I'd do if I wasn't placed here. Thank you staff.
Our father was a resident for 5 weeks during the summer 2022. He was admitted for rehab following discharge from the hospital until a permanent place could be found for him or he was discharged home. He was previously diagnosed with dementia and was given a bed on the first floor due to this. He could walk assisted when he was admitted but during his time at Ardenlea Court he lost all his dignity and respect - although he did not complain once as he was a true gentleman. He was not supported and his care plan was not followed. He was often found slumped in his chair or bed by visitors, we had to ask for drinks and the majority of staff (not all) walked past the room without acknowledging him. This was not a one-off. Just to note - we never once saw anyone in the pub - apart from staff having meetings. In summary, he was completely let down and we have made formal complaints.
Ardenlea Court was our first experience with a care home. We found a very caring and professional staff who were consistently kind and helpful. Each day followed a gentle routine for our mother who was bed bound. Meal times are interspersed with morning coffee, afternoon tea and bedtime drink. The kitchen served delicious meals, beautifully presented and for those who were nocturnal, there was always a snack available. Staff checked regularly and chatted if Mum was awake and if we were not available they would feed Mum and make it a nice occasion. As a family, we were very grateful that the staff were so approachable and that they took the time to explain and to check we understood what was happening regards Mum's care plan. We used the hairdresser and chiropodist.
Just to say a big thank you to all of the staff who looked after my wife whilst she was in your care. The way you looked after her made me and my wife feel wanted and all of the staff were helpful with a smile no matter who passed her room, they smiled and said hello. A little thing, I know but to my wife made her feel a lot better. I wish we could repay you all more as a thank you does not suffice.
I have found the staff very helpful and friendly. Resident always looks clean and fresh, room is kept clean. I am very satisfied with everything and the resident seems happy and content. Thank you.
My husband has been given a good standard of care. He is always clean and tidy. The food has been excellent, has a good variety and always looks appetising. The room is kept clean and hygiene is good. The staff are generally welcoming and caring.
My father was moved from hospital on a temporary placement, while a more permanent place could be found. The staff are caring, friendly and were keen to know what Dad enjoyed eating. The home was clean and well maintained. There seemed to be plenty of staff around and ready to help. We as a family were very pleased with how Dad was cared for.
I very much appreciate the kind and efficient care received during my respite stay of 4 1/2 weeks. I would like to thank the organisation for obtaining the physio sessions necessary after my plaster was removed. This has enabled me to be sufficiently mobile to return home, Overall I would rate Ardenlea as good/excellent in all essential areas.
Excellent all-round service, had to wait at times when pressing the buzzer, however no problems.
It would be hard to find a more caring place than Ardenlea Court. Day and night nothing is too much trouble for the staff. It's impossible to find something to complain about.
