View Full Details of Delves CourtMy aunt for whom I also have LPA was a resident at Delves Ct for over 18 months. At all times she was cared for with respect and dignity by the Manager and her hard-working team. All issues (including a couple which required trips to hospital) were dealt with promptly and I was quickly informed. The family were always made welcome and were able to speak to staff and management with concerns and questions being addressed quickly. As a family, we were very happy with the care and support given at Delves Ct and we would recommend the care home to other families.
My amazing dad spent the final 6 months of his life at Delves Court. From the minute he moved there the staff have been amazing with him. They helped him adjust to living a less independent life by making him feel so comfortable and never once made him feel he was losing his dignity. The manager was particularly special to my dad, she always gave her time when he needed to talk and was present for doctors' calls if I wasn't available. They treated him like a family member and we will never forget the love and care he was shown by all the staff. Thank you.
Being a resident at Delves Court I speak from personal experience. The managers and staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to help you. Your room will be nicely decorated with wooden flooring, and underfloor heating, an ensuite toilet and a TV. The garden is well maintained with neat lawns, patios, tables and chairs. Apart from having your own private room, there is a communal room on each floor if you want to mix and chat with other residents so if you're looking for a care home, I would look no further than the Delves. It's a 10/10 from me.
We are pursuing a case of neglect and negligence against the care home and Walsall Health Service as the home failed to recognise the demise of our father (he was dying from dementia); they failed to keep the family informed that he had stopped eating and drinking and they sent him to die in a cubicle at the A&E department in the local hospital. In their incredulous response to our complaint, they have admitted their negligence and also have stated they are not an acute unit as they advertise on their website they are so I would not leave your relatives here. I would give them a zero as they do not deserve a one star.
Having experienced the very worst scenario at a step down assessment bed placement and a prolonged hospital stay as a result of poor care, my dad became a resident at Delves Court, initially with one to one nursing care in September. From the day we looked around the staff have endeavoured not only to treat Dad with empathy, understanding and genuine care, but they have also supported us as a family with the transition. I cannot thank the manager, care staff, housekeeping, cooks, not forgetting maintenance and activities girls who took him for a day out last week that I am informed was as enjoyed by staff as much as Dad, he was genuinely happy and settled, he had the best day for too many months. Real team work goes into providing this level of care, you should be very proud of yourselves, there are many facilities that could learn a lot from the way you do things. Thank you all.
My ex-partner has been a resident at Delves Court for three weeks now and I am really pleased with the way he has been looked after, the managers and staff are amazing and treat residents with care and they will go above and beyond to do this, they are really friendly and listen to what the residents need. I would absolutely recommend Delves Court to anyone that needed them for family members or loved ones to be cared for, nothing is any trouble for the staff to do, meals are really good and drinks are not only given to residents but also relatives.
Such a lovely home for my mom and dad. They have received nothing but kindness and support. Both have challenging needs as both are a bit deaf and Dad is nearly blind as well as having Alzheimer's. Any queries or concerns are always dealt with quickly. Always something going on there, painting, a quiz, bingo, word searches and sometimes an entertainer. They listen to residents as well as relatives. Very happy.
My husband has been a resident at Delves Court for seven weeks now after being in the hospital since July. This has been a very difficult decision for us as a family. We need not have worried, the staff work tirelessly to provide loving care for all the residents. From management to everyone else who works there, nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. Yesterday was my husband's birthday, his first one away from home, I arrived at 10 am to the sounds of laughter coming from his room, the celebrations had already started. The activity girls were there with maracas, xylophone and tambourines singing to him and laughing with him, it was a heartwarming sound, the celebrations continued all day with relatives coming and going and all were made welcome. Personally, I know I have made the right decision as family are looked after as well as residents. After a very brief stay at another home (1 week), which was very unsuccessful, I know now that I can safely walk away at the end of my daily visits.
My elderly aunty was given end-of-life care at Delves Court for just over two weeks. In that time we found the staff to be both experienced and caring. Furthermore, the property was very clean and tidy and we were very happy with the room my aunty had. Staff would sit with her for a chat in addition to looking after her needs. My family and I would like to thank all the staff for their excellent care.
My mother was taken into Delves Court in October 2021, following a six week stay in hospital, to receive end of life care. This was a difficult time for both my sister and I, but having not been able to see our mother since she was admitted to hospital it was a great relief to see her being so well cared for by the nurses and carers at Delves Court. Her stay at Delves Court was unfortunately far too short and she passed away on Christmas Day. I cannot thank the nurses and carers enough for the kind way they treated my mother in her last days.
My mother was a resident at Delves Court since September 2019. She has dementia is partially sighted and profoundly deaf. The care she received whilst resident has at times been very good with some individually excellent staff to being very lacking at others. Since March 2020 we have not been able to see our mother other than one window visit and a visit outside the foyer for her 90th Birthday. During this time my mother has deteriorated, losing a large amount of weight and noticeably becoming withdrawn during Skype calls. The family decided it was in my mothers best interests to move her to a specialist dementia home and after four weeks she has gained weight, engaging with care staff, had her medication reduced and not demonstrating any aggressive behaviour we had been informed she had started displaying. The decision to move her although hard has been the right one for her. We will be able to visit my mother in March.
Regretfully, we removed Mum from the home in Feb 21, we felt we had no option. We were very concerned that there were no arrangements in place for visiting and no details of how and when this would be possible. Since March 2020 we had two brief window visits. We were very concerned that Mum’s health and wellbeing were deteriorating as the months went on. Seeing her on the Skype calls getting thinner, more distressed and ill was heartbreaking. Within a couple of weeks in her new home, she is looking brighter, she has colour in her cheeks again, she is more alert and is now eating well. We also have had information about how and when we can visit. We felt that we made the right decision.
It is hard to say how profoundly impressed our family is with everyone at the Court. For complex reasons, my father was entrusted to your care much too late. He ultimately only spent one week with you before going into hospital, where he passed away a week later. Yet in that one week at Delves, he was treated with such kindness, warmth and respect by every member of staff we encountered: cooks, cleaning staff, nurses/carers, "activity lady", the management - literally everyone. My father was virtually unable to speak at this stage, but everyone took time to talk to him, be with him, try to understand his needs and wants and make life as comfortable and enjoyable as possible for him. The other residents too reached out and sought to befriend him, although he was unable to respond. My sole regret is that he was unable to experience this haven of love and humanity for longer, when his health was still better. We are deeply grateful for all you did for him, and for us, his family, too.
All staff were friendly and would help us if asked. Activities were advertised clearly and we would always donate to the causes. They looked after my Mom and I am extremely grateful for their hard work. I have gone there today with some chocolates for the staff 1 year after Mom passed away and had £5 worth of tickets for their raffle. God bless all the staff.
I am very pleased with the love, care and support shown to my dear friend. The carers will go out of their way to help and nothing is too much trouble. Everybody is happy and comforting to be around. My friend has now grown much stronger and is able to return home. This would not be possible without Delves Court care home.
I have really appreciated the care received. The staff are delightful, the food is lovely and the home itself is a beautiful place.
I find the people very helpful, activities are very good for residents. Care is good and a very happy home. I would say it's a good place to be and management are very friendly and helpful.
My mother has been in this home for 4 years and I couldn't wish for a better place for her to spend her final years. It is a lovely home, well kept, clean, no smells, staff are very friendly and caring, we are always made welcome and any queries are always answered and sorted out. New management has taken over this year and it is still run very efficiently and caring. Nothing is too much trouble, they have a variety of things to keep them occupied for those that wish and I cannot thank them enough for all they do.
If members of the new management team and the members of staff continue working hard and continue making improvements as they have done in the past few months I feel that there is o reason as to why this home cannot be one of the best in the area. I can only speak for myself and family but I am more than happy with the service provided and the respect that is given to us as a whole.
The care home has changed dramatically over the last 6 months. The staff have been trained to a much better standard. Friendly and safe, I would highly recommend Delves Court. The management are very friendly and caring. All staff genuinely care for the residents. I feel that I have confidence in the care they give my mother.
