View Full Details of The Garth (Residential & Nursing Home)Very pleased. We were warmly welcomed, shown to my brother's room where we found him dressed neatly - warm, clean and shaved. He was obviously comfortable and well cared for. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Lovely staff, always very friendly and accommodating. Excellent care and facilities, homely atmosphere, Mum is very happy here and enjoys visiting the hairdresser. Whenever I visit I always ask if she's happy and she always in. Very safe environment.
My mum has been a resident at The Garth for three years. My father and I visit frequently. We feel confident that Mum is being well cared for, she is content and comfortable and the staff have got to know her well. The home appears well run, there are plenty of staff who work well together and are professional in their duties. Staff are always willing to answer any queries and respond to requests we make concerning Mum's care and wellbeing. We are always met with a warm welcome and staff are cheerful and friendly.
Staff and management always helpful and friendly on every visit. Also condition of rooms and every area always good on every visit.
Staff very kind and helpful.
I feel so relieved and happy that Mum is a resident at The Garth. It was such a big deal finding somewhere for her to go when she had to leave her home. I honestly never thought I would find somewhere that Mum would be content, but having settled into The Garth I know she couldn’t be in better hands and that is reflected in her smiling face and overall demeanour. The staff are all amazing, very professional, always kind and caring and so welcoming and friendly when I visit. It’s taken a massive weight off my mind knowing that she is being looked after in such a wonderful way. I really am so very grateful to everyone who works there for giving Mum the best possible quality of life.
My husband has been at The Garth for nearly 3 years and I am very happy with his care. I can visit at any time to see him and observe the care received. I’m always welcome. He has quite complex needs due to his loss of vision, the form of dementia he has and its associated behaviours. His needs are met at The Garth because he has a double-sized room to himself without disturbing others. He dislikes people he doesn’t know well. He feels more secure and is safer knowing he has one person to care for him and all staff know him well. He also has double incontinence and needs to be fed and given medication sensitively. Any health issues have been reported to me and treated promptly. Staff at The Garth have learnt to interpret his needs and behaviours very well. This significantly reduces the risk of falls and helps him and others to be kept safe. Most importantly he is guided, even given hugs as a way of greeting, and always offered comfort and respect by staff at The Garth.
My father-in-law has been living in The Garth since December, at first, of course, we were apprehensive at the thought of him going to a care home. All our concerns were diminished in the first week, it's home from home, and the staff really are amazing and take care of all Dad's needs. We are kept updated about all his care. The food is so good, Dad had lost so much weight from a very poor diet but now enjoys all his meals. The home is clean and spacious. We highly recommend The Garth.
I am very impressed (and thankful) that my friend is at The Garth. The care and attention given, in my opinion, is excellent. The home is clean and tidy. All staff are happy to help and are kind. The food is absolutely wonderful. The care is second to none, the nursing staff are always looking for ways to care for the patients under their care.
My Aunt has lived at The Garth for 10 months now and as a family, we could not be more happy that she is there. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The residents enjoy the range of activities that are put on for them, and the interaction between staff and residents is excellent, and the communication between the staff and family members is great too. My Aunt is settled, well cared for and safe.
My husband is well looked after by a caring staff, doing a good job, when dealing with people who are very ill and frail. While my husband has dementia and other ailments it is of comfort to know he is well looked after.
I was in the process of writing you a thank you letter. I found the whole experience so very reassuring and any of my previous worries were completely unfounded. The meeting was very informative indeed and conducted in an informal and clear manner. During and after the meeting the owners and manager gave me so much of their valuable time again reassuring me. I was extremely grateful for a such friendly approach. The staff were amazing and it was clear just how much they cared for all the residents.
The Garth Care Home provide a wonderful homely environment, the staff are very kind and nothing is ever too much trouble. They make you feel very welcome as a visitor as well. The care home is kept spotlessly clean and my relative is always looking comfortable and decently clothed.
My husband moved here in October 2019, and his care has been well-managed that I haven't had a moment to worry about it. He is happy and contented because the staff are able to spend time with him and encourage him; which is so important. His room is always spotlessly clean, and the food is delicious and tempting for his poor appetite. I am always made to feel welcome, my questions are answered clearly and promptly, and I am encouraged to join in the many activities if I wish.
The care team at The Garth are all so warm and friendly, and even though we've all gone through the Covid-19 pandemic, I knew the staff at The Grath were doing their very best to care and protect their residents at all times. The care standards are high, the home is spotlessly clean, and I know my mum is happy and comfortable. I can't recommend them highly enough. Well done, The Grath team!
I visit the home twice a week, always very clean and staff make you feel very welcome. Food always looks good. Management are always willing to help with any issues.
Very pleased we decided to use The Garth. Very happy with my mum's care. Very much a friendly home rather than a hospital atmosphere.
The staff are most efficient and caring.
My mum's care has been tailored for her taking so many of her interests and her personality into account. Communication from staff and management has been great, they are always happy to give me an update no matter when or how often I call. I hugely appreciate the care my mum has received and the wonderful support I have received throughout a very difficult time.
The staff are always cheery and have a lovely rapport with the residents. The choice of activities is very wide and all are encouraged to join, activities are always fun and include members of the community I.e primary school choir. If the residents cannot go into the hairdressing salon in the home the visiting hairdresser goes into their room. The management are always trying to improve standards. Skype is available, fabulous idea.
