View Full Details of Hazelhurst Nursing HomeMy dear friend is so loved and well cared for at Hazelhurst Nursing Home, what more could one want? The staff are incredibly kind, attentive, and go above and beyond to ensure comfort and happiness. It's a place filled with warmth, compassion, and a true sense of home. Knowing my friend is in such capable and caring hands brings such relief for everyone connected to him. I couldn't be more grateful. Thanks to everyone at Hazelhurst.
I have visited family and friends in many care homes over by years but I can say with confidence that Hazelhurst Nursing Home is a joy to visit. The way the staff interact with people is wonderful. If I ever need a care home I will choose Hazelhurst. They are a different league altogether. Wonderful.
Hazelhurst is the most wonderful nursing home. The place, the people, the level of care provided, the welcome given to my relative which enabled him to settle into his new life so quickly and so well. The reassurance this gives to his friends and family that he is happy, well looked after and cared for. The staff are amazing and treat everyone with great dignity, kindness, compassion and understanding always going the extra mile to bring happiness to their residents. The accommodation is lovely, being able to enjoy walks in the garden, summer picnics, Christmas Fayre, carol concerts, drinks and meals with a relative is all very special. I am very thankful for the care my relative receives and the joy the staff bring to his life for which I will forever be grateful. I would highly recommend Hazelhurst Nursing Home, visiting my relative is always a pleasure as you feel part of the Hazelhurst family and that is very special.
The staff care is kindness. The home is clean and nice modern rooms. The day time activities are perfect. Having to put my mum into a home was and still is very difficult to live with, but there were no other option. Thankfully we found Hazelhurst which has made the process less painful.
My father had been a resident at Hazelhurst for a year until he sadly passed away in August. As a nurse myself and someone who has previously been involved in hospital CQC inspections my standards are very high. The compassionate, holistic care provided is of the highest standard. My father was treated as an individual in all aspects of his care, which made the difficult transition to a nursing home from home so much easier for him. All of the staff are just wonderful; in recent times I have spent long periods of time at the home and have heard how they talk to the residents in such a respectful, caring and friendly way. My father passed away at Hazelhurst and the end-of-life care he received was without fault. He was treated with dignity and respect, and as a family, nothing was too much, the staff went above and beyond. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hazelhurst as a Nursing home - but it is more than this which makes it so special.
Hazelhurst is where I would choose to go if I need to be a resident in a Care Home - is there anything more to be said! The staff, accommodation, garden and grounds are stunning and lift the spirits. Since arriving at Hazelhurst my mother-in-law has begun to glow and seems rejuvenated after having been diagnosed with dementia, and being separated from her husband who also has dementia and having to leave her home. She is the happiest and most relaxed I have seen in years! Staff are warm, welcoming, professional and committed, with an appropriate and much-appreciated sense of humour. The food is home cooked and I am told is fabulous. The care is exceptional and leaves you feeling reassured. My mother-in-law is taking part in lots of activities has made a best friend and believes one member of staff is 'his lordship' and owns the manor! She cannot speak more highly of the home and each week shows me and tells me how wonderful it is. I just want to say a massive thank you to all the staff!
As next of kin for A and he spent his final nine weeks at Hazelhurst. He was already very frail on arrival and the care team were just wonderful in addressing his needs, getting to know him and nurturing him. The home is an amazing place, where nothing is too much trouble and the staff make such an effort in getting to know each resident and what can help them feel happy. The team did their very best with A and I myself was welcomed with open arms and felt valued and treated as a member of the Hazelhurst family. During A's final days, I moved in to be with my loved one, this was encouraged and welcomed and I felt so looked after at such a difficult time. What I really loved, was the openness and 'open door' policy of the home - nothing is hidden, everything is transparent and you can arrive at any time, be anywhere and see and hear the same level of absolute care with every single resident openness, love, TLC and A, high level of nurturing. It really is outstanding in every single way.
My mum was welcomed the moment she arrived and looked after with great professionalism, care, and concern for her wishes as an individual. Soon after arriving, she required end-of-life care and this was given to her in an exemplary fashion. The staff was supportive of myself and my husband as we sat with her and other family visitors. While we found the rooms and facilities at Hazelhurst excellent, its greatest asset is its staff. I am sure if my Mum had lived longer they would have found ways to help her settle in and have a good quality of life.
My sister has been at Hazelhurst for just over 1 year now following a severe stroke. She is only 55 years old. As a family, this has been life-changing for us all and difficult to deal with. Making sure that my sister has the best life possible has been our utmost priority. The love, support and kindness that our whole family has received from everyone at Hazelhurst has been tremendous. The staff are constantly trying to think of activities more suitable for my sister due to her age and they treat her as an individual. Nothing is too much trouble and we are all very grateful. Having viewed many homes before choosing Hazelhurst I can honestly say, there is none better. If anyone has to make the decision for a loved one to go into care Hazelhurst is outstanding in every way.
My wife has been a resident at Hazlehurst for over a year having suffered a stroke and needing a high level of care. I regularly visit the home and spend a considerable amount of time in the home which allows me to witness how patients are treated, cared for etc. I am delighted with our experience at Hazlehurst. The home is like a family to my wife. All of the staff genuinely care about my wife and provide a fantastic level of care. This also extends to the whole team from the gardeners, cleaners, chef - to everyone. She is treated with respect and dealt with in a kind and considerate manner and the same service is given to all residents from what I have seen. There are activities for the patients and good facilities. Low turnover of staff with plenty of experience and expertise. A professional service delivered in a personal style. I know my wife has great care so I can relax without constantly worrying about her.
My mother was a resident at Hazelhurst Nursing Home for the last few weeks of her life, and in that time, she was treated with the utmost respect, kindness and compassion. At times, she had little or no appetite - the staff and catering team would spend time with her to encourage her to try all sorts of different foods. My mother had the most dignified death that we, as a family, could have wished for, and that is thanks to the wonderful team at the home. We, as a family, will always be grateful.
Visited my friend, who I hadn’t seen in a long time. She seemed very happy and I am not surprised, as Hazelhurst is a lovely home. The nurses were very friendly, and the grounds were beautiful! My friend said she felt very safe there, which was nice.
We were struggling to cope and realised we needed help and specialist help at that. That’s exactly what we found at Hazelhurst. Friendly and professional staff providing a home-from-home experience and all done with the utmost of care. My relative's return to good health was swift once he was given the care he needed. It’s a great comfort to know that he could go any time he needed to. Thanks to everyone for getting my relative back home in a super quick time.
We had to book into Hazelhurst as my relative was very frail after contracting Covid and wasn’t coping with our support alone and we all realised professional help was needed and that’s just what we got. Once my relative was mobile again, which was only after a few days, then he made great progress and in no time was back to his normal self. He was able to go back home where he continues to live independently with our support. We couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome of his stay at Hazelhurst. Thank you to all who he came into contact with.
My wife entered Hazelhurst in July 2020. She has advanced Alzheimers and severe osteoarthritis. During the height of the Covid emergency, I was very impressed by the way in which the manager and staff coped with formidable problems created by the pandemic, balancing the tension between maintaining residents' safety and allowing as much access to relatives/ friends as possible. Now that the Covid threat has decreased there are clearly still challenges in being able to operate the nursing home in the light of rising costs and being able to recruit and retain staff. That Hazelhurst continues to be warm and welcoming for residents and visitors is a great credit to management and the dedicated staff. The ethos of dignity for residents is evident as is the commitment of staff to their often difficult tasks. It's hard to believe there is anywhere better for my wife to be now that I can no longer meet her needs at home. Thank you to the manager and all of your team.
Mum sadly passed away last month after nearly 8 years at Hazelhurst. During this time, she received the most excellent care that we could have asked for. We have nothing but praise for all the staff and their devoted care. Many thanks for making the last few years of Mum’s life as comfortable as possible.
I cannot thank the staff at Hazelhurst enough, they have been there for both my mother and the family at all times during the past seven and a half years and right up until the end. Their dedication and also love towards her has always been incredible and has been a huge comfort to the family, knowing that she has been in such excellent hands and in such a wonderful setting and environment. During Covid, my siblings and I were able to see and engage with our Mother via video call, each and every week, and that experience was always invaluable to us. Thank you so much! Special thank you to the staff member that organised these calls plus also the weekly video Church calls which we know Mum would have loved.
Our mother was a resident at Hazelhurst Nursing Home for nearly 8 years before she passed away recently. During her time there, she always received consistent first-class care and we will always feel indebted to everyone, across the whole staff spectrum, for enabling our mother’s life to be the best it could possibly be in spite of her illness and for their warm support for her and for us, the family. Knowing that our mother was so well cared for and in such good hands was a great comfort to us and we will always remember our time at Hazelhurst with much gratitude and affection.
After a period in hospital followed by several daily visits from carers, it was good for my mother to move into a home that can care for her at all times. Being close to where she grew up and spent most of her life Hazelhurst Nursing Home offered a beautiful and comfortable location where she could be visited by old friends. Her health has improved in the six months that she has been there, a good sign that she has settled in well.
My mother was admitted to Hazelhurst Nursing Home at the end of April after a very thorough admission process. She has settled well and likes all the staff. She looks physically the best I have seen her for a long time. She lives with dementia and could be quite agitated but now appears calm and contented. Communication with the office is excellent, it could not be faulted in any way. This is very reassuring as I live some distance away. When I do visit I am made to feel very welcome and the staff are friendly and attentive. Her room has her own possessions to hand, so it feels like a home from home. Overall I am very happy with Hazelhurst.
