View Full Details of Holmer Manor Care HomeMum has been here for nearly 12 months. The initial welcome was good ... the past 12 months I am glad that I chose here? The staff are all on time and mum is very happy and has settled well. I am happy that all of mums needs are being met with her health everyone put at centre of the care you are providing.
My mother-in-law is very cared for. Always clean, smells fresh and always dressed nicely in clean clothes. Her bedroom is clean and tidy. The bed always appears lovely and fresh with clean linen. Overall, very happy with her care.
My husband has been a resident at Holmer Manor care home since February 2024 - we both found the changes from home to a care home difficult to cope with. All the staff have been wonderful to both of us and have supported us both with understanding, kindness, and care in a very professional manner and they treat him with dignity. The friendly team always greet you with a smile, and are always happy to help anytime of the day or night. My husband is always clean and tidy and greets me with a smile. Thank you all.
What a lovely care home. My father never wanted to be in a care home but this one is fantastic. My father's every need has been met and the staff have gone above and beyond to make him feel at home. Special mention to exemplary staff, one member of staff in particular who was more like a friend to my father. Two other carers worked their hardest and succeeded in getting my father back home. My father's personal chef and finally another lady who has been so lovely. Thank you again to all the wonderful people that make this establishment so special to your residents.
Having to find a care home for mum when her physical health deteriorated suddenly, at the very time my wife and I were away on holiday, was the most stressful time. Dreading the process I telephoned Holmer Manor which had already been identified as our number 1 target from the CQC website and was amazed when they said they could visit mum that very day (which they did) and accommodate her the very next day. To say it was a load off all of our minds is a massive understatement! Mum is now a permanent resident and both she and I are delighted with our choice. Nothing is too much trouble for them, always cheerful and very helpful staff, from the admin team to the carers, the medical staff, the catering staff and last but not least the handymen. I can honestly say that I would wholeheartedly recommend this fantastic establishment to anyone and everyone. Thank you, Holmer Manor for being so fantastic!
My mother entered Holmer Manor Care Home a few months ago and I have been impressed by the staff and the care they take. Initially worried about handing her care to others, my fears were quickly allayed.
I would like to thank everyone at Holmer Manor Care Home for the kindness, care and dedication each and every one of them showed to my husband during his time as a resident with them, they could not have done more for him, everything was done with a smile and cheerful word of encouragement which meant so much to us all, nothing was ever too much trouble. Despite the fact that he was totally bedridden, the care he received far outweighed all our expectations. The food was wonderful, appetising and beautifully presented, his room was bright and spotlessly clean, every aspect of the care he received was incredible and for this we will all be eternally grateful to you all. I would recommend Holmer Manor without any hesitation and much appreciate everything they did not just for my husband but the support they provided to us all at such a difficult time. Thank you.
My mum was in this Care Home for over 4 years, as she was struggling on her own after dad died. She was happy and cheerful - almost her usual self, until her dementia inevitably got worse. All the staff knew her well, and treated her with great kindness, respect and concern. I totally respect the very difficult job it must be for the nurses and carers to deal with different residents' needs. They always made me feel welcome and supported, especially as her strength diminished , and extreme frailty set in. In her last weeks she was unable or unwilling to take food or drink. Over the four days my son and I were with her at the end, it was clear that we all had the love and support of the very professional and caring staff, many of whom I consider friends .
The residents seem very happy and very well looked after the food looks amazing. The care is excellent, the carers will do anything they can to help the management and the care team very understanding. Very happy all good.
My mum receives excellent care at Holmer. The management are very aware of what is happening with residents on a day-to-day basis. The staff are all fantastic at their jobs, they are calm, caring and thoughtful.
Dad is looked after very well. He can be challenging and they always treat him with the utmost respect and in a gentle manner, with patience. The home is warm and welcoming, the staff always greet me like a friend and always offer food and drink if Dad is having some. When Dad had a spell in hospital I found I missed going to Holmer Manor. I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone.
I find the staff are lovely and willing to help if I have a problem. The cleanliness of the rooms are good too. My husband has started swimming and really enjoyed it so that was brilliant. The food always smells lush when I pass the kitchen and my husband doesn't leave anything on his plate. Good atmosphere.
My father was a resident of Holmer Manor for nearly two years, up until his passing in November 2023. He was very happy during his time there and was always comfortable and well looked after. He suffered from severe Alzheimer’s and was always treated with care, patience and respect by the staff. I always found the staff to be welcoming when I visited, and the home has a very warm and friendly atmosphere. His room and the communal areas were comfortable, clean and well-kept, and I know he enjoyed the food, especially the tea-time cake trolley! I would particularly like to thank the staff and management for their care and support throughout my father’s stay and especially towards the end when his condition worsened rapidly. I would recommend Holmer Manor without hesitation and greatly appreciate all that they did for my father.
Upon visiting my elderly uncle I was so happy to see him looking so well. The staff and manager were very welcoming. There was a singer in the lounge which all the residents enjoyed. The home smelt clean and was very tidy. I loved the offer to return and book the private dining room. A great idea with Christmas approaching.
I'm extremely glad that the manager was there in my hour of need. She is excellent at listening and understanding the needs of residents and families. The manager always makes time for all. I will be forever grateful.
My Mum moved into Holmer Manor Care Home in late 2022. Mum has vascular dementia and very limited mobility. I wanted to care for her at home for as long as possible but when the time came for 24-hour specialist care for Mum the manager at Holmer Manor was so helpful and understanding. Mum is happily settled in Holmer Manor. Her room looks out onto the garden, she is well cared for, enjoys the variety of activities and really enjoys the meals, especially the afternoon cakes. The staff are always very helpful, caring and cheerful.
My wife was diagnosed with dementia in 2017 and was admitted to Holmer Manor Care Home in 2021. The loving care and support given to my wife is second to none. I am always appreciative of the support given by the nursing staff and the care staff for personal needs, dressing/undressing and assistance with walking now she has become unsteady on her feet. Most of her waking time is spent in the day room, with a love of dancing she is eager to take part, but with the unsteadiness on her feet support is provided willingly by one of the carriers. As a visitor to the home, usually three times per week, you are made most welcome by the manager and all her staff and any queries or questions you have are answered most willingly.
My dad has been at Holmer Manor Care Home for just over a year now and the team work so hard to make dad happy and comfortable. Such kind and caring nurses who work so hard. Staff have given me so much support I can't thank them enough great teamwork.
My partner has been in Holmer Manor Care Home since February 2023. he is 90 - had a second stroke in November 2022 - making his mobility worse and also the vascular dementia. The family have all found it very stressful dealing with a very different man and realising that he needed more care to keep him safe. he is settling in well though every day is different. I have found it particularly helpful being able to talk to other carers at the carer's meetings and hearing of their experiences on the journey with their loved ones.
Beautiful home, staff so friendly and go the extra mile. the manager is so approachable and you don't feel rushed when talking to her, she makes time for you and takes the time to listen to you. The residents are always doing activities and not just sat in thier rooms, The activity co-ordinator is so friendly, a true asset to the home. If you are thinking of placing your loved one in this nursing home I wouldn't hesitate, I wish my mam was here from the beginning.
