View Full Details of Bowood Court Care HomeLooks after Dad very well and is very helpful to me at all times. I have recommended it to other people.
My mother has been staying with you for about 10 months (upstairs). Myself and family have been impressed with how helpful the staff have been, any problems have been dealt with straight away. We are very happy with the care my mum is getting.
My husband and I have been regular visitors to Bowood Court Care Home, visiting my sister on the top floor of the building for the past five years. Over this time, there have been many staff and management changes. All upstairs staff are wonderful and very hardworking, as are the rest of the team, e.g. cleaners, laundry, kitchen staff etc. I haven't yet had the opportunity of meeting the home or care managers as they are relatively new. The care given to my sister is excellent, she appears happy with all members of staff, they care for her with respect and dignity. The food is also very good. My negative thoughts surrounding the upstairs areas are that it is in need of refurbishment. The carpets are in need of changing, carpets are dirty and sticky underfoot which, in turn, makes the surrounding area smell unpleasant. Also, the windows need cleaning inside and out which would make the areas look a little brighter too.
My father has vascular dementia and Alzheimer's so has challenging and changing care needs. The staff at Bowood Court Care Home, particularly the carers, adapt to his changing needs and always keep in contact with the family to explain how his care plan will change. All of the care team are friendly and very loving towards the residents, which is heartwarming. I know my father is safe and very well cared for, which is so reassuring to our family.
Really friendly staff, always happy to help with any queries I have. Cleaners are always around and are also really friendly and approachable.
Overall, we, as a family, are satisfied with the care he receives and if he could say, I'm sure he'd say the same.
My husband has been in Bowood Court Care Home for two and a half years. Since day one, I have been relieved Bowood was chosen as the "caring" care he gets is second to none. Amazing and wonderful team of staff. All my husband's needs are met at all times. The whole atmosphere at Bowood is one of calm and empathy. This also extends to me as a relative. A "family" care home most certainly. All rooms are kept clean, also corridors etc. They deserve a gold star!
Negative reviews aren't great but it only feels right to do so considering the approach Bowood took towards care. After a short stay, we decided to relocate our Mom after weeks of trying to solve problems with no success. Ongoing dietary problems were never solved, a toileting routine was not established, and no incontinence referral was done. Mom became isolated fast even though we visited regularly as a family. Their approach was to blame us as we hadn't followed their communication pathway even though concerns were discussed with carers, senior carers, care manager, chef, and area manager. Mom went from being very and left to soil herself when needing the toilet. An awful smell got into every item of her clothing, we started taking clothes home to wash so at least she had the dignity of wearing fresh, clean clothes. Moving Mom was the best decision we've made both for us and definitely for her.
I was very pleased and satisfied with my wife's care which she was at Bowood Court Care Home for two weeks "replacement" care (9th to 23rd July). She seemed calm and happy and presented with no problems.
Bowood Court Care Home has such a homely, warm feeling about it, the staff are very friendly, very approachable, nothing seems to be too much trouble. Everywhere is clean and fresh, really nice for, activities to join in with and get to know people. My husband's been made very welcome and settled well. I would not hesitate to recommend Bowood Court for your loved ones.
All staff are very friendly and helpful. Place seems very clean, and the food is always presented well.
I have been visiting Bowood Court to see my partner, who unfortunately has dementia which is gradually getting worse. The staff have been wonderful and caring, especially through the COVID times. The Court, to my mind, has improved quite a lot over this time in the way the home has been run. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, sometimes under the most difficult of circumstances. Keep up the good work.
This is the first time I have been able to visit my mum due to health problems. However, on arrival, I was given a very warm welcome by all the staff on route to Mum's room which I was very impressed with in size and cleanliness. I booked in for a Mother's Day meal which was delicious and plentiful with wine also. The staff have all been very attentive and helpful in so many ways, not only to myself but also the residents. Overall, I am really impressed and hopefully one day I will enjoy the home myself in future.
Bowood Court Care Home, Redditch is such a lovely, bright and happy place to visit residents. The staff are amazing and care to the needs of residents and families alike, nothing seems too much trouble and they are happy to assist with any problems that may arise. The food is very well-prepared, cooked and balanced and always happy for family visits to help taste the meals.
I have always been happy with the care Mum has been given. She appears happy and settled. The staff work so hard and are friendly and approachable. I often see the connection with staff and residents. There has been a large turnover of staff recently, which can be unsettling for the residents, but I am confident it will settle down with the new management in place. I would recommend Bowood Court Care Home to others.
My partner has been a resident at Bowood Court since August 2023. He is very happy there and sees it as his home. The staff are very good and we both have a good relationship with them. The care and support offered is good. Management has recently changed but I believe the new manager will be very good - she introduced herself to my partner and also to myself which was appreciated. My partner is a fussy eater but the kitchen staff make a good effort to accommodate his needs. His room could do with being slightly bigger and more room around the toilet would be good as he has to use a Sara Stedy.
On arrival, I was met at at the door and welcomed in. I was taken to my friend's room and offered a coffee and biscuits. The atmosphere was lovely and everywhere was clean and tidy, which was great to see and smelt good too. My friend said she was very happy to be there and that this is now her new home. She said she felt safer there and happy. Thank you so much.
Standards are excellent. Staff really take care of my mum. Rooms are clean and tidy. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, for the residents and visitors. Highly recommended care home.
Mom has been a resident at Bowood Court for six months now and we both feel she has become a member of a large family, from housekeeping to management; the friendship and care provided are excellent. Their secret is they all work as a team to ensure the residents are well cared for and, most importantly, happy.
All of the staff have made my friend very welcome. Always supportive whenever needed. The home is always clean and tidy. Food is excellent. Would always recommend to anyone needing a care home.
