View Full Details of Southcrest Nursing HomeI have been in contact with Southcrest Nursing Home since my mother became a resident and with me living in Germany and the communication and information I receive from telephone calls to emails, help me regards knowing that my mum is being well looked after. I regularly call once a week to talk to my mother and the staff let me know on a weekly basis how my mother's well-being is and it takes all my worries away with this call. The manageress, administrator and the senior carers are a credit to their profession. I visited my mother with my family on the 14th and 15th December 2019 and was made more than welcome on arriving at the Southcrest Nursing Home. They took time out to show me around and explained in detail what my mother does on a daily basis from her eating habits, hygiene (showering) and what activities my mother takes an interest in and what she likes. After my visit had ended I left knowing that my mum was in very good and capable hands, which for a son is a godsend.
My Mom has been at Southcrest for just over 12-months, her care has been exceptional. When Mom went into Southcrest, she was very unwell, she is now so bright, and loves living there. She always looks clean and well cared for, which I know isn’t the case in a lot of care homes. Mom is encouraged to join in activities, all occasions and birthdays are celebrated, and I know without even being there, they will all be celebrating VE Day. I don’t even know where to begin to thank the manager and her team, since the outbreak of the Coronavirus, they have kept us informed about everything, sending pictures, arranging video calls for myself and the family (which Mom loves) special thanks to a member of staff. We have no worries about Mom, knowing that she is so well cared for; cannot thank them enough.
The caring nurses and staff were wonderful and treated my mother as their own. Perfect in the circumstances of my mother's short palliative care in the home.
My mum has only been at the Southcrest Nursing Home for a few months but in this time I have been very impressed with the care Mum is receiving. The love, care and understanding of Mum's condition and needs is very reassuring. The manager's knowledge is so helpful and I really feel Mum is in good hands. Mum has started to gain weight, which she badly needed to do and has the colour back in her cheeks and brightness in her eyes, I am so pleased. She seems happy and comfortable.
