View Full Details of Foresters Nursing HomeDeciding to look for a care home for our terminally ill mum was incredibly difficult. Mum very much wanted to stay at home and we had promised her that we could do that for her as far as we were able. Everything was positive, initial calls about visiting, meeting the manager, it gave us hope. When we got there, it was a difficult, but the staff really got to know us as a family and mum as an individual in order to provide the most appropriate care. A big factor for us was their care of us as a family - they looked after all of us as a family in addition to mum as a patient and their support is something I will be ever grateful for in the last week of mum's life. Mum was made to feel so important despite only being there a week. Their care and compassion is something I'll never forget. They are truly wonderful people who put their families front and centre and all we can say is thank you.
There is some good care and there are some kind and caring staff at this Home. However, I specifically requested that my dying Mom to be started on a syringe driver to manage her pain and agitation. This request was refused by the Care Home Manager. My Mom died 48 hours later - agitated and in immense pain (at times) during this time period. This Home is in no way equipped to care for End of Life patients or Palliation. There can be no second chances, and the memories of inadequate pain relief will stay forever.
Mom was in the Foresters Nursing Home for just over 5 years and the care she received was really good. All the staff went above and beyond. She was looked after very well. She was a challenge at times due to her health conditions but whatever the issue the staff kept smiling. I couldn't have asked for better care for her from the first day until her final moments. I am very grateful for the kindness and care she was shown from all the team.
We have been really pleased with the excellent respite care offered by the Foresters Nursing Home. Communication was good in arranging the care and transparency in costs involved. The home provided a much-needed 'go-between' hospital and home. The staff are very caring and treat clients as individuals with dignity and respect. The food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble to sort out for my father-in-law.
Mum is cared for very well at the Foresters. Recently, Mum spent a few days in hospital with a bad chest, which was picked up by one of the nurses after checking her oxygen levels. Enquiries were made about Mum's condition daily by the staff at the care home, and on her return, Mum was looked after extremely well.
My dad has been a permanent resident at Foresters Nursing Home since January 2024 after his declining physical health meant he had to move to a nursing home. Foresters Nursing Home have been absolutely amazing from the moment I got in touch with the Home Manager, she was so helpful and reassuring and the moment we walked through the door we knew it would be the right place for dad. It has such a lovely homely feel to it, all the staff are so kind and caring. Dad couldn’t be in a better place and it’s such peace of mind for the family knowing that dad is so happy there and very well cared for. I highly recommend Foresters Nursing Home, all the staff go out of their way to care for the residents (and they are so kind and helpful towards the family and friends of the residents too), we feel so very lucky knowing that dad is living in such a wonderful place.
My dad was on end-of-life since April and spent time in hospital and another nursing home close to hospital. He was only at Foresters Nursing Home for the final month of his life. The care and support from here was the best it could have been and at such an emotional time. Could not have been any better. Thank you.
From the first time my mum viewed the home looking for end-of-life care for my grandfather, the staff were very friendly. He was transferred from the hospital. He wasn’t there for long but the care, support and attention he received was amazing. From the minute he arrived. Nothing was too much, dignity and respect were paramount. Cannot thank them enough. He felt very happy and settled. They also took time to look after us.
Mum was so looked after in every way right up until (and after the end). The staff were just amazing, unfortunately, because of her disability and condition she had very little quality of life, but the staff gave some of this back to her. The Covid time posed a bit of a problem but we still managed to celebrate her 100th birthday. After her time came the management wholly arranged for the transmission and collection of tissue for research - this was to me ‘over and above’ normal management duties and saved me a lot of time and effort at an unfortunate time. Members of staff and management attended her funeral, showing to me the 20 or so years of bond they had had together. I fully recommend anyone to use this home as I was completely happy and at ease with her being there, I knew she was being very well looked after.
I would like to thank all the staff at Foresters Nursing Home for the wonderful care they took in looking after my dear dad. The love and respect shown to dad was overwhelming and very much appreciated. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone there and although dad was only there for a very short time they made us feel welcome at all times, day and night. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone in need of care. Thank you for making a very difficult time easier for us and for treating dad with the dignity and respect he so deserved.
We were really pleased with the excellent care provided to my father. We approached Foresters looking for end-of-life care, we visited the premises and really couldn't fault their caring attitude towards us. It was clearly evident that they would be an excellent care home and our father was immediately transferred there from the hospital. The staff made Dad very comfortable and whilst he was not there for long, I was so happy that Dad could spend his last hours there, rather than in the hospital. I would highly recommend Foresters Nursing Home should you need similar support and care for your loved one.
Mom was placed at the Foresters following a fall at her home. She received excellent care whilst there. All staff were very caring and helpful. We are most grateful for the care she received.
I am extremely happy with the care my mother gets at Foresters Nursing Home. Everyone is so helpful and caring to my mother. I cannot praise the staff enough. All are very professional and helpful. It feels like a very homely place.
My sister and I have been extremely impressed with the quality of care provided for my father during the short time he was at Foresters Nursing Home. The staff and management are excellent in every way - we could not have wished for better.
My husband has been very happy during his time at The Foresters. The staff have always been very caring and supportive both to him and the family. All the staff work so hard and have a genuine care for the residents. I feel lucky that my husband spent his last months in this nursing home. His end of life care was treated with compassion and dignity. The staff were great during this difficult time. Thank you.
My father was admitted from the hospital and then was unfortunately end of life. The staff cared and looked after him taking into account his varying needs. He was treated with compassion and dignity right up to the end. The staff were brilliant with him and the family.
The Foresters Nursing Home were very caring for my dad. Cannot fault the carers, nurses, plus manager. It felt like home. My dad never wanted to go into any home; he never complained about being there because it was like his home, he was made very welcome, and they were like family. Nothing was too much trouble for Dad to ask for anything. My dads passed away now. I shall miss all the staff very much. Excellent home!
I would like to express my gratitude for all the care and kindness provided by the Foresters Nursing Home. The care was above and beyond expectations, and the kindness they showed my grandad was made very welcome from the moment he moved in and was very happy there. I would also like to thank all the staff for making not just my grandad welcome, but his family too. Fantastic home - highly recommend.
During the time our Aunt was at Foresters the staff and management were always supportive of all our needs whilst providing an excellent level of intervention and care for our Aunt. They were always open and honest about issues pertaining to her care and managing her end of life care.
I cannot express my gratitude to all the staff for the care and attention that my father was given. Nothing was too much trouble. Kind words were offered from the beginning of the day to the end. Words, compassion, care, dignity and love are words I use when prescribing the Foresters staff.
