View Full Details of The Hawthorns Nursing HomeMy son is looked after really well and has a good relationship with staff. I can speak to nurses and management if there are problems and they are quickly resolved. It is a happy environment. I was so impressed at the weekend when all residents had to be evacuated which was done in a calm and efficient way, the staff and management all came in to help they were excellent and professional, A big well done to all. We have been to other care homes and this is the best.
Calm and relaxed atmosphere. Residents seem happy and content. Staff friendly and helpful.
I cannot fault this care home in any way. The staff are so friendly, and all go out of their way to be kind and patient; all have a high level of understanding of complex health needs, always providing a person-centred approach. My father was treated with the utmost dignity throughout his palliative journey. He had a homely, spacious bedroom with an ensuite shower room. He loved spending time in the garden looking at the flowers and birdlife and participating in activities, especially painting. We cannot thank everyone at Hawthorns enough and consider them all an extended part of our family.
A truly caring and supportive nursing home with dedicated staff, treating the patients with dignity and love, with clean, well-equipt rooms to relax in and in a safe, secure environment. Delicious home-cooked food with good choices. Lovely gardens to sit outside in the good weather. Very approachable management with an open door at all times. Excellent value. A perfect choice.
My husband was transfered to Hawthorns as needing nursing care in August 2021. Since his admission, the staff have done their very best to meet his needs in a professional manner despite my husband not always being cooperative due to his advanced dementia. The staff have supported my daughter and myself in visiting him and have been open to discussions in relation to his care. Hawthorns is a friendly clean home with a calm atmosphere where team work with nursing, caring, cleaning, laundry, and catering ensures the best for its residents
Really nice feel within the home and felt very relaxed. The care provided to my father was very professional and compassionate and the carers are looking at his well-being. Very happy with the overall feel and care provided within the home.
I believe going to care is too personal to recommend. During my wife's stay at the Hawthorns, the staff made every effort to ensure that she was treated with respect, kindness, compassion and love. "She was like a sister to me" was what it said and she was treated equally the same. During her final days, professional nursing care was of the highest standard. I'm forever grateful.
Fantastic and very caring staff and management.
Dad has been at The Hawthorns for three years and we have been so pleased with his care. The staff are wonderful, carers, office and management. We would recommend The Hawthorns to anyone who needed care. Thank you!
My husband has always been looked after well and is happy. The management, nursing staff and care staff always make us welcome. It's been a very difficult year, and although we haven't been able to see our loved ones as much, we know they were kept as safe as possible.
I can't recommend The Hawthorns highly enough. From the moment my dad come in here, they have been caring, professional and certainly go above and beyond. They have put our families mind at rest during the most difficult time in our lives. I know my dad is in the best place. Thank you all!
My husband has early-onset dementia, so I was not expecting to use a care home for someone in his 50's. However, I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and the care given. I am always kept fully informed of how he is and the care he is receiving. I know that my husband has challenging behaviour, but he is always treated with care and respect. I can only speak highly of The Hawthorns.
I can't rate Hawthorns Care home enough ... my mum, who has dementia, has been so well cared for by the most pleasant, well mannered, caring staff, who have made her feel safe, happy and well this last 11-months, and to all her family, this means the world. Thank you.
Choosing a nursing home for a much-loved family member is one of the most difficult decisions to make. My husband was only in The Hawthornes for a short time before he died but, six months on, we remain certain that our decision was the best possible one. He was treated with loving care and total professionalism by every member of staff who came into contact with him. We, his family, were equally supported and cared for - thank you all so much.
The Hawthorns is an amazing care home with highly professional dedicated staff that all go above and beyond their duties. Staff make myself and family members visiting our loved one very welcome. The home itself is always very clean and tidy. I truly would not want my loved one to be anywhere else.
My mum has been in The Hawthorns for a while now, and it really is a home from home. The staff are amazing, caring, and nothing is too much trouble for them. They make us feel so welcome when we visit, especially our elderly father when he came to visit his wife of 65-years. He recently became too ill himself and sadly passed away, but as we spent more time with him as his health declined, we were confident that our mum was being well cared for. With the current situation, they are kind enough to keep us updated with her health and well being. I cannot praise this nursing home enough; it deserves the outstanding award it has achieved. Thank you!
Hawthorns have given my husband the best love and attention, both nursing and daily care, that one could wish for. I cannot recommend it enough and am continually praising their service to all I meet. During this terrible crisis, when these most vulnerable people are so at risk, Hawthorns has kept me up to date with my husband's condition and been most accommodating in what must be a very difficult situation. Thank you to all the staff, from the bottom of my heart.
Mum has now been a resident at The Hawthorns for just over two years now. She has Alzheimer's. I couldn't think of a better place for her to be cared for. The entire staff are so caring. Nothing is too much trouble. They always have time for you and have the patience of saints. They are also very professional. When visiting, you are made to feel very welcome and are treated with kindness. There are also the special little touches on special occasions when the staff put themselves out, like Birthdays, Christmas and other special events. The last Royal Wedding was watched with residents having had bonnets made by the staff. Lovely. I am very thankful to all the staff.
Hawthorns are a family. Not just a place your loved ones are looked after. You can always be sure of them being treated with up most respect, compassion and love.
A caring relaxed friendly environment for family and residents alike. A definite home from home.
