View Full Details of St John's Court Nursing HomeMy Mother was a resident at St John's Court NH. She has sadly passed away now. On behalf of her and my experience of St John's, I would now like to give a review. From the time Mom was admitted 18 months earlier she immediately fell in love with the place. She had had a bad experience previously and was naturally anxious about her new home. She needn't have been as she literally thrived within the first few weeks and months. Her social life within the home with its fantastic entertainment dept was simply first class. She was occupied with one thing and another every single day. The care staff were fantastic. Such a wonderful collection of different personalities. All of which complimented one another. The Manager and the Deputy Manager were always so supportive and helpful whenever I needed them or had a query. My mom sadly passed away on October 11th. I know she had the best year ever and will be grateful to St John's eternally for this.
All the staff are very professional, friendly and helpful. My mother enjoys the food and has settled into St John's comfortably. She participates in the activities organised. The care package she receives is excellent.
Mom was being very well looked after - her room was always immaculate and her clothes. The staff were very attentive and interactive - and spoke up regarding concerns related to how she was and if consideration was needed in changing medication to support her well-being. Always kept up to date regarding changes in environment or activities/outings and lovely photos printed off. Cannot thank all the team enough for the care and support they provide.
Mom has been in St John’s since March. None of the family wanted her to have to be moved away from home, especially Dad but you have to realise when the time has come. You have to do your research and visit places to get a feel for the right place for your relative. St John’s was definitely the right place for mom. Warm, welcoming, lovely friendly staff who love Mom and we see the same staff who tell us how she’s been on a day-to-day basis. Mom has extensive needs, she is unable to walk and has dementia. We can see she’s settled well and is happy in her new home.
Mum is content despite her dementia which makes her not always easy to deal with. She is kept clean by caring staff. The nursing staff are excellent and I’m kept in touch with important issues. Unfortunately, she’s not able to enjoy the activities due to her dementia.
My dad stayed at St John's for over 8 years until he passed in September 2023. I always found St John's care to be very good and would recommend it to other people. My dad was very happy here and did not wish to move.
I chose this home because I had received very positive reports about it from people who had relatives staying here. It is near to where I live, and I am able to visit at any time without an appointment. I have found that all the staff are very friendly and helpful, and I know that my uncle does also. The food is good, and the staff are quite flexible as to when it is served, so if I am visiting, they are prepared to wait. The home is kept very clean and tidy, and visitors are made to feel welcome.
Great staff who are very caring, always trying to encourage my Mum to join in with the many activities they do - not the easiest of jobs when dealing with dementia patients. Mum is happy, well cared for and safe at St John's.
The staff are amazing at the home and really care about the residents, especially the activities team! They plan and execute brilliant days and activities. My Dad is always happy and taken care of! Staff turnover is a worry and the amount of staff on the floor. Some lovely staff have left and there doesn’t seem to be enough.
My mother who has dementia moved here over a year ago and the care is fantastic. The staff including reception are brilliant with my mom and also brilliant with us, they can't do enough for my mom. We have found a good care home with good staff and plenty of activities.
My wife has been at St John’s for 2 and a half years, her care has always been superb. I am very satisfied with all aspects of St John’s and do recommend it to others. A great place doing an extremely good job.
The level of care my father receives is generally excellent. Staff are kind, efficient and caring. My mother was a resident for over ten years until two years ago, which is why we chose St John's for my father. Many of the staff are the same who looked after my mother, which is very reassuring. The nursing staff are all excellent and provide plentiful and meaningful updates on my father's overall condition.
Staff are extremely tentative to the resident's needs and really do take care of our mom. Unfortunately, like most care homes now, staffing levels are at a minimum, and we do find that there isn't enough staff to complete all tasks that are needed at times; however, what staff are available at St John's are brilliant and provide a fantastic and extremely professional service. The entertainment and facilities are very good. The cleanliness of the building is good, and the food that is served is excellent.
My mom went into St John's at end-of-life; that was nearly nine years ago. I am so grateful to all the staff who care for her; they are so committed, kind and caring. Thank you all for caring so much about my mom.
What a fantastic place for my mother to be in. She now has a life full of activities and is well cared for. This is the best decision we made rather than her struggling in her own home with indifferent care.
Our brother is very well cared for at St John's Court Nursing Home. He is very happy there. He enjoys the food provided and likes his carers. Any issues have been listened to and addressed. The activities team are amazing and has encouraged our brother to participate in games, arts and crafts, films and outings, which have maximised his enjoyment of living there. His family are very happy to see him enjoying his latter years so much.
My 91-year-old mother, who has dementia, has been at St John's Court for just over a year where she has received a high standard of care and support from the dedicated team of carers. Where appropriate, she is encouraged to take part in the many activities available. She has been shown much kindness, and her dignity is respected at all times.
My mother has been a resident at St John’s Care Home for seven months. She was joined at the home briefly by my father before he passed away in July 2021. During what was a very difficult time for the family, we found great comfort from the genuine kindness shown by the staff towards my mother and myself and the skill and care of the staff in keeping my father comfortable during his final days, and it remains a comfort to know my mother continues to be cared for by dedicated and compassionate staff.
I can only speak since my father became a resident in March, and I am comparing it to the previous home he was in. I have found the staff very friendly, always helpful and able to answer questions I may have. I am not local, so most of my dealing is via the telephone, but I am reassured at how my father is, and I am not left to worry. The online portal is so useful. I can see how my father is doing daily, and then if I have a concern, I can call and know that I will get an answer and not be fobbed off. Dad has improved so much since being at St John's. He will never be himself, but some things he has said to me, reassure's me that he is comfortable and cared for.
My mum had to move into St John's at the beginning of the Covid outbreak, and although visiting has been very restricted, I was just so relieved that they had so few cases, and those that they did have, were extremely well managed, therefore, protecting the residents. Staff always let me know of any issues with Mums health and wellbeing and have managed to get her involved in some activities. She is as settled as I feel is possible with Alzheimer's.
